  1. This is, by far, the greatest thing ever. Now if only more departments would follow suit; at the very least having some classic parade/public-relations vehicles. :D
  2. Nicely done, as always; I especially love that DPS one.
  3. RIP, Officer Collier. Glad to see that he got a beautiful final ride.

  6. A shame I've reached my positive rating quota for the day, or else I'd +1 every post in this thread. xD
  7. Thanks for placing that manual link there. I agree; the NYPD did a wonderful job in this instance and showed immense restraint especially under the circumstances. The crowd was ridiculously unruly and the feeling of victory when backup arrived simply couldn't be matched.
  8. They did call for backup, though due to the intricacies of the NYC subway system it took roughly two minutes or so for proper backup to arrive. I can only imagine how nerve-wracking it must've been for the first two officers on scene. View the video when possible; it is quite stunning to say the least.
  9. You are correct, though there was only so much that two officers could do when they have people closing in from both sides.
  10. Glad you were eventually able to view the video [i assume]. Can't say I necessarily blame you, though when viewed in a positive light urban areas can be rather nice.
  11. Do recall, however, that this conclusion came at a steep cost. RIP to University Police Officer Brian Collier; you made the ultimate sacrifice doing what you loved; http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2013/obit-officer-sean-collier-0419.html

  13. Video still works on my end. Try the news article detailing it instead; http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/04/18/video-cops-struggle-to-make-arrests-at-brooklyn-subway-station-amid-boisterous-crowd/
  14. Update: Shots fired in Watertown, Massachusetts; https://twitter.com/1010WINSNewYork/status/325386920190423040
  15. It is a shame that the media flat-out refuses to cover the good side of the NYPD, but there is indeed evidence out there. Take the below video, for example. On a Brooklyn 3-train, there was an altercation between two people onboard. The conductor notified police and they were waiting for the suspect at the station stop. Unfortunately, the crowds around simply defended the perp without giving any thought to what actually occurred. Video below; the officers were very professional and showed immense restraint throughout the entire circumstance.
  16. There are a multitude of excellent police-related movies out there. I'd have to recommend "The Seven Ups (1973)", "The French Connection (1971)", as well as "Fort Apache: The Bronx (1981)". Note that the Police Academy movies (1980s) are worth checking out too.

  19. Modding the police slots as well as the noose slots will not crash your game on their own; more things such as scripts running in the background, modded cars everywhere, and other predicaments will, however. GTA IV is generally more stable than EFLC by the way.

  21. To be completely fair, there were no notable cosmetic differences between the 2003-2011 CVPIs; the majority of changes were internal or regarding the interior layout/design. The DSF version is based off of a 2003-2004 model with a 1998-2002 black lined grille. The 2003+ models had a honeycomb black grille and different headrests than the 1998-2002 version. The 2005+ models had a different driver's-side airbag. The 2006+ models had a revised instrument cluster along with previous changes. I believe smaller changes were made periodically, including in 2011 when the headrests were changed again. This is correct. -- I agree; having the 2006+ Impala in my game at a completely different scale than the CVPI is awkward; the DSF CVPI fixes that problem easily.
  22. NYPD is boosting presence in Times Square and beefing up security at bridges and tunnels in response.
