  3. I didn't get a chance to watch the video you posted until now, Strike, but great find! Those Chevettes are pretty cool and fit their traffic enforcement role perfectly. The LTD was a beauty, and the fire apparatus that passed was great too. OfficerOwens, Across 110th Street is a great movie. The DVDs are difficult to come by as I believe they are out of print, but the film can be rented/purchased through Amazon's digital distribution service. Alternatively, I believe that someone has posted it on YouTube, but that version has Spanish subtitles that become distracting and that don't follow what's happening on screen. lol.
  4. It would also be great if a variation could be made on this concept, making it more similar to the frock coats worn by the NYPD/LCPD up until the early 70s.
  5. In order to hold us all over until then, here's a few of the intros from the show. They'll never get old.
  6. I'm glad to see that vintage cars are gaining popularity. These are fantastic, Kinksta. Excellent work.
  7. Dog Day Afternoon was a great film; the scenery and RMPs showcased in it were even better. There are several movies that have quite a few vintage NYPD RMPs in them. Across 110th Street (1972) comes to mind as well, and that is evident at the end of the trailer as well as the movie.
  8. That was fantastic!; much of my youth was spent sitting in front of a television, intently listening to Sheriff John Bunnell's colorful narrations. Those memories came flooding back while watching this.
  9. My apologies for the double post, but I found out what the lightbar on the Polara is. It was generally agreed upon that the beacon light and lollipop-lights were made by Dietz, with the beacon possibly being a Dietz 7-40.
  10. Ceril did a 1989 LTD Crown Victoria already, and it has an LAPD texture. Use Sgt. Kanyo's handling with it [in the spoiler tag]. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Cj24 did a 1991/1992 LAPD Caprice as well. 11. I am very partial to those old print ads, thanks for sharing. 250hp puts that Rambler on-par with a CVPI! On that note, here's another one.
  12. Given that incredible foundation, I'm sure that the crafting of an ELS version would be much easier than starting from scratch. If anything, I'd raise the lightbar just a little bit off of the roof to mirror the photos on the previous page, and that would be perfect [with the addition of ELSV8 of course].
  13. That's definitely an interesting livery, and I appreciate how relatively simplistic the lighting scheme was for so long.
  14. I can't even begin to describe how awesome this thread is, Kinksta. Thanks for putting these together, as well as striving for accuracy when it comes to lighting setups [Kudos to Ringo for being a consultant, as well as Reibu for digging up those photos that I posted long ago. :D] ------------- If I may make a future request, if possible, I'd love to see an ELS NYPD version of carface's 1989 Chevrolet Caprice. I can be of assistance regarding the equipment/lighting setup, as I'm sure others on here can as well.

  16. Any PD That used a Nash Metropolitan just got a bump in absolute coolness!
  17. I've always liked AMC's odd-looking designs, the Eagle, Matador, and Javelin included. Those are some great photos! The lightbar on the Polara escapes me, but I'll ask around and see what I can come up with. :D
  18. This is not something done for recognition. It is something done in order to show respect to the fallen; those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I'd appreciate it if you would recognize that.
  19. I'm not entirely sure on that, and it is a good question. I know that the clear glass entered use in 1963, but that's all the info I was able to find.
  20. This thread gets more and more awesome every time I open it. Here are a few more photos. Chevrolet Biscayne RMP, Late 1960s Circa 1938 Plymouth Volare RMP with a TwinSonic, 1970s Late 1960s/Very early 1970s Plymouth Savoy RMP, early 1960s
