With mods like Realistic Radiance, RadianceV, and the others that make your emergency lights brighter, what values are they actually changing? I've found that tweaking these two values to your liking can achieve identical, or at least similar results. car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on I've been playing with those values to get what I consider to be some bright emergency lights during the day and night and have come up with some values that I think work pretty well. So are these mods only changing those values? I wouldn't mind having some brighter reflections off the walls and surrounding area, but I'm not sure which value that is, and I'm not sure if the above mentioned mods modify that, or just the two values I mentioned.

I watch a lot of Officer First Thirty Minutes and other LSPDFR personalities on YouTube and they always seem to come across people with under glow lighting, or cars missing a tail light or headlight. I have played a fair bit, though not as much as those guys and I've never seen either of those three occurrences. Is this a special mod that spawns A.I. traffic with those infractions? I use Traffic Policer if that makes any difference.

So I've probably re installed LSPDFR a dozen times or so in the last few weeks as I try new things, and learn (a lot!) what works and what doesn't. In that time I would get to about 10 - 12 plugins or so and my constant 60fps would start to drop to the 50's, maybe even the 40's. So I just thought maybe that's all my computer can handle (even though my computer isn't a potato by any means). Anyways, tonight I tried a different vehicle and ped search mod because I've been using Darkmyres "Search Warrant" mod ever since I got into LSPDFR. As soon as I uninstalled DarkmyresAPI and Search Warrant mod, my FPS went straight back up to 60, with no drops at all, anywhere on the map. I've since thought "well maybe those extra 5 plugins I wanted but couldn't because I hit my 10 - 12 plugin cap will work now!" and sure enough, still at 60. TL;DR I had no clue that DarkmyresAPI and SearchWarrant mod were hurting my performance as much as they were!

yeah I'm well aware of how to edit the .ini files, heh. Now I'm trying to figure out what the key differences are between Police Search mod and Search Warrant mod.

Well done. I can't say I've ever found that much! Out of curiosity and because I'm still playing around with a mix of mods to see what I like, and what works well. What search plugin are you using? Are you using the Search Warrant plugin by Darkmyre(sp?) or do you have the individual Ped Search and Vehicle Search plugins? (Not sure why those two aren't just rolled into 1 mod instead of being separate)

I'm using Traffic Policer, as well as Arrest Manager and was wondering how, or if it's possible that when you order someone out of a vehicle on a traffic stop to put them into the state where you can ID, warn, ticket, or of course hold E to arrest. Basically the same options you get when walking up to a ped and holding E. I hate having to hold E after ordering someone out of a car because it usually looks and feels pretty unrealistic to have them get out of their car, start walking a few steps as though we're not at a traffic stop, and need me to yell "POLICE! Stop what you're doing!" for them to regain focus like "oh yeah he stopped me, I magically forgot about that in the last 3 seconds".

Indeed you're right and the video clearly showed that. Appreciate the reply bud. I won't feel so bad about having them in my LSPD vehicle then!

I'm using the CVPI by POLICESCO which comes with both Police and Sheriff liveries, though I'm ONLY using the police liveries. The amber lights in the flash pattern make sense for a sheriff and maybe even a highway patrol / trooper vehicle, but do police vehicles use them? I thought they only used red and blues, though I could be wrong. I tried changing the 3 "amber" words in ELS to "red" or "blue" but I'm not sure it even made a difference. For immersion sake and if I'm correct in what I'm saying about them only using red and blue, then what else can I try to change those amber lights? If I am incorrect and police vehicles do use amber lights in their flash pattern then I'll chock it up to learning something new and keep it the way it is! Otherwise I feel like it kills the immersion having a sheriff style flash pattern on a police car.

Alright for now I've decided to use POLICESCO's cars. Using his unmarked charger, tahoe, cvpi, fpiu, and fpis, then for my marked units I'm using his LSPD cvpi and charger. He puts out some really good models and had what I wanted. Keeping it simple. Still need to decide on a sheriff and sheriff2 slot, I'm thinking maybe his LSSD pack, we'll see. Happy with what I got at the moment :)

Why would you never use it? Just reading the features it sounds like a solid package with some more realistic features. I'm curious as to why you don't like them, or feel you don't think it is a good addition to LSPDFR.

Well I appreciate the information, I'll deff be taking a look at RDE. Though I'm not sure how I'll live without TrafficPolicer, and Arrest Manager! Though you didn't say one way or the other whether or not they conflict, so I might still be able to use those. We'll see. But reading the RDE "Features" it almost sounds too good to be true and I don't see any reason why anyone playing LSPDFR would play without RDE. Hmmm. I'd like to hear the opposition ;)

Well dang. That looks like an LSPDFR complete overhaul. How is it on the FPS hit, and how well does it play with mods like PoliceSmartRadio, TrafficPolicer, etc, etc, basically all of Albo's mods?

I might look at RDE as I've seen the term used in various mods, mostly those that have RDE and Non-RDE versions, though I'm not 100% sure what it is. It seemed like an online mod or something, but I could be wrong. I'll have to look again.

See that's the problem. I just don't know what I want! Too many options, so I was picking other peoples brain for their personal taste to see if it's something I'd be interested in. With so many choices now, it can be overwhelming, especially when you're as OCD as I am, heh. I did stumble upon an old post from August that you contributed to where you linked several car packs, that helped quite a bit, I may play around with those as well. I guess "Packs" is what I should be looking for then eh? They seem to include several models with a common livery/theme. Easier than looking for individual models that match that "theme" you're after.

Eh, it might help me. If nothing else I may get some ideas to think on and play with, heh.

I heard of a certain LAPD/LASD pack that keeps popping up and then disappearing again, so I'm waiting for it to show up again so I can snag it before he pulls it again. I wouldn't mind a solid fleshed out LAPD/LASD theme. But until then I'm gonna have to try some others I think. Feels weird to have like a Chicago PD CVPI and then like a Miami FPIU or whatever, all mixed and matched, so I'm trying to come up with a theme here.

Yeah I use CustomBackup and have set up some of my own custom entries, but I've kind of put a hold on customizing that anymore until I figure out what I'm doing with my cars/liveries. I wouldn't mind a solid LAPD/LASD setup, but we'll see. So many options! Good problem to have I suppose.

I'm curious what cars everyone uses in their game. Do you try to get all of your cars to be a certain theme like LAPD and LASD? Or do you just go for a mix of whatever looks the best? I'm torn between trying to keep all my vehicles from the same department for realism sake or just loading up whatever looks good, even if that means having like 3 or 4 different departments cars and liverys in one town. LSPDFR has brought out the worst in my OCD, heh.

I did find this LASD livery/texture which doesn't look half bad and has a livery for each district(West Hollywood, Compton, etc, etc). I may just use this for now until something else comes along. I want to theme my game with authentic (not lore friendly I think is the term?) LAPD, LASD, and possibly CHP as well. I think they use 2011 CVPI's, 2016 FPIUS, and 2015 Chargers, and Tahoes, though I could be incorrect in this. So looking for you guys to help by suggesting some high quality models, and/or textures to achieve this! ELS is a must. I think Policeco made an LAPD FPIU, so I'll look for that, otherwise I'm open to suggestions! Thanks Folks.
