  1. I'm not a religious man. But I'm still praying that we can mod it.
  2. Its not an incredibly hard thing to support mods for a game, I hope they will at least recognize that modability has a huge amount to contribute to replay value.
  3. So for reference here are my specs: i7 4920k 16gb of RAM GTX 770 2gb 2tb HDD When I play GTA IV on my PC, I max out at 54 fps, with an average of around 30-40. I have heard that GTA IV is poorly optimized for PC and that good computers see disproportionate performance because of it. So should I expect a good performance from GTA V, since it is supposed to be better optimized? Basically my question boils down to: What is the link between optimization and performance, and how will it affect us when we're playing GTA V as compared to IV?
  4. I don't think we will EVER be able to fully make up for the atrocity that was slavery. Much like affirmative, I think this would be ultimately counter-productive. What we should do instead is tax the rich and improve the socio-economic status of poor Americans and predominately black communities. The problem isn't that poor African Americans are sitting around waiting for reparations, its that just like the rest of poor America, they're being held down by their own poverty. The sad reality exists: For millions of Americans, the American Dream does not exist.
  5. Not all across the city, and since Los Santos is a much smaller version of LA I don't think it would be too realistic.
  6. I mean the LAPD doesn't really do foot patrols so that's pretty realistic I would say.
  7. Public high school in Jersey. A good school, but nothing incredibly special.
  8. Umm...I was taught all of those things.....did he just not pay attention?
  9. I agree, but don't you still want a realistic control script?
  10. This is why filming cops is the best thing we can do. This sort of thing used to happen all the time before we had cameras in our phones and on our news helicopters. Keep filming cops, they are public officials and deserve to be held accountable for everything they do. Just because you have a lot of adrenaline going, and you're probably frustrated that you had to chase this guy so long, doesn't mean you can beat the crap out of him when he's not resisting.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the good-looking lights in GTA 4 are caused by a mixture of ENB and visualsettings.dat brightness. Even though the lights look good in GTA V I would still like to see a realistic 3-stage light/siren control script.
  12. Why don't you guys want ELS?
  13. Race is always a factor. Law enforcement can only "win" by using proper tactics and force across the board. Racial bias and profiling is a SERIOUS issue that deserves the attention of the law enforcement community, instead of blind support for cops just because we finally saw a video of a justified shooting. I'm not going to bring up the countless incidents and videos that demonstrate this because I don't want this to turn into a flame war. But it is important for you to know that people who are concerned with the amount of unarmed black people being shot are not "cop bashers". Its just interesting to see a white family beating up and tackling multiple police officers, when cops across the country are shooting and killing unarmed black people for reasons that are not as legitimate. Pointing that out doesn't make me a "cop basher" or a "race baiter", it makes me a concerned American.
  14. Let me start by saying that this looks to be a case of a justified shooting, but that doesn't mean the police handled it perfectly (which could very well be impossible). In almost every shooting, the police say the suspect went for their gun. A lot of the time this is a lie, but I wouldn't doubt it since we can obviously see how out of control the situation was leading up to it. Even though the cop was shot in the leg, it is important to note that at this time we don't know who fired the shot at the officer. It is very possible that in that mess of a situation, an officer accidentally shot a fellow officer, or an officer accidentally shot himself. We can't see in the video, so its important to wait for the facts. Also, the fact that the family was white played a role in this. Come on, you can't tell me if this was a large black family the police would've spent all that time using the batons and tasers, and there are plenty of incidents that back that up. I applaud the cops on showing some restraint, they were definitely aggressive but at least showed restraint before using the lethal option. I just wish that they would show that kind of restraint and professionalism all the time. This isn't a case of a perfectly justified use of force, or a case of excessive force. There are plenty of cases of excessive force, but this isn't one of them. This is just the reality of what police officers have to deal with sometimes.
  15. I actually think these are pretty legitimate questions considering how close the release is. I for one am NOT purchasing the game for a third time just to find out we can't mod it. I'll wait to here from everyone here.
  16. The funny thing is that the criminal in this case is the cop. So its not a tragedy that the cop will spend a very long time in prison for the murder he committed. This what justice looks like, people. When the powerful are held to the same standard as the rest of us.
  17. You can install any ped onto any model with Open IV
  18. Right, Christians believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. So they don't have to marry someone of the same sex. But when they deny service to someone based on the way they were born, that is discrimination.
  19. Denying service to someone based on their sexuality is discrimination. This is a lesson we should have learned during the civil rights era. If a florist says "Sorry I can't serve your wedding, you're a jew.", that's a huge deal and everyone can agree how bad it is. If a florist says "Sorry I can't serve your wedding, you're black.", that's another huge deal that we were able to overcome in the 60s. If a florist says "Sorry I can't serve your wedding, you're gay.", suddenly the florist is a good christian? Bullshit. That's discrimination and should be illegal.
  20. I understand that but Bond is a fictional character. I don't know too much about the backstory of the "double-O" program but I'm pretty sure they are all different people, right? So there have been multiple "James Bonds". Why can't one of them be black?
  21. Title says it all. There is a good Toronto police CVPI but it isn't DSF, which seems like the more popular template. Its a very cool car, and I know a slicktop version was just released which is fantastic. Let me know if anyone is interested in the project!
  22. There's nothing that can be suggested. There's always going to be violent and mentally unstable individuals that try to latch themselves onto a cause. Look at the people that murder abortion doctors. Surely the overwhelming majority of pro-life people don't support violence, and the same goes for the Ferguson protesters. You can't allow the horrible actions of a few to dilute the grievances of the mass amount of people who are exercising their First Amendment right to protest.
