I havent had any issues switching to just if (entity) and using the implicit operator, it checks both ==null and .Exists() quite nicely.

Which partner mod? AFAIK mine should work without any crashes.

Should still have something listed, otherwise the game doesnt know the car has sirens. ELS will override it, and you can just leave it at sirenSetting=1, but has to not be zero so the game sees the siren in the first place.

I have a vague memory of there also being something like GET_CLOSEST_DOOR_OF_TYPE or something similar that you could use to get the coord of the nearest door, then set its state. Worth doing some searching over on gtaforums.com as I know I've seen stuff there about it a while ago.
