  1. MODERATOR NOTICE Take the personal stuff to PM. That was the right instinct on Slimory's part. On topic: The TSA has employees who are armed: the Federal Air Marshals Service is under the TSA. Note the differences: FAMS marshals are considered federal law enforcement, go through training with other federal law enforcement, have powers of arrest, and are a last line of defense. Also, in the air, protecting a plane is something that falls under pretty much entirely federal jurisdiction (if a local LEO is flying armed in the line of duty, they'd presumably be able to act to protect the aircraft, but it's not part of their normal responsibility). On the ground, there's no reason we need to have TSA armed. Airports have police forces. If they want, they can put a police stand at the security station; I've seen that at a few airports. But screeners do not have to intervene when it's dangerous - they can always call airport police.
  2. It's pretty likely that the police also use Dells for normal office laptops; they may be a city standard vendor, and having all laptops from the same company makes IT simpler.
  3. I personally have no interest in trying it. However, that doesn't mean it should be illegal. There's a LOT of stuff I'm not interested in that shouldn't be illegal - for example, no one would suggest banning synchronized swimming.
  4. For a Quarter Pounder, the value option is "Quarter Pounder with Cheese". So, you have to ask for a "Quarter Pounder with Cheese, no cheese".
  5. You must be a citizen to be an American police officer. That takes at least 5 years after you arrive in the US, unless you serve in the military, in which case you'd still have to wait the length of your active-duty commitment. Legal immigrants may be cops, but only after they become naturalized citizens, not while they are just lawful permanent residents. @Pengi: That sounds like a good plan to pursue the job.
  6. So what would be different between that and a clan playing sans mods?
  7. And I was critiquing your choice of topic.
  8. Why are you so eager to advertise this? Seriously, of all the possible topics, you really thought this one needed to be made?
  9. The scripthooks with LCPDFR are the latest versions. Just install Trainer.asi and Trainer.ini, unless you play EFLC, in which case install trainertbogt.
  10. I'm sure you weren't trying to point to the giant clan ad in your signature, because c13 specifically said "no clan ads". I'm sure the three-pronged thing was just a typo on your part, and not an arrow pointing to the oversized text. I'm sure you'll remove it now that I've alerted you to the typo, so that others don't think you're pointing out your own clan. Because if you decided to try to use stupid tricks to shoehorn a clan ad into this thread, then I'd have to take action. Do I make myself clear?
  11. Since when are Youtube comments something that was good about Youtube? The comments there are pretty much the cesspool of the Internet. No comments section at all is way, way better than what they had before.
  12. Bullies disproportionately come from abusive families. The issue isn't that their parent's don't punish them for stuff. The issue is that they're conditioned to an environment where violence is an acceptable way to solve problems. Can you blame parents of bullies for their kids' actions? Sure, but that doesn't release the school from its obligations to provide a good environment. The school has to do what it can with what's available, so it can't just shift responsibility.
  13. Depending on where you are, "spot the cop" is a game that is almost guaranteed not to annoy the driver.
  14. It's preferred to just release the textures as PNGs. Releasing them on the models is actually *less* convenient, because it makes it harder to install them on any *other* CVPI with the same template.
  15. Look around. Seriously, plenty of long-distance roads in the US actually go through either beautiful areas or cities (at least in the East). Protip: Don't just identify road signs. Pay attention to things like when the driver merges/changes lanes, how they're looking around, where they stop at stop signs (stop lines are often misplaced), how fast they go, where cars are around you (e.g. how much space is between them), etc. Knowing road signs is generally mandatory to get a license, but it's far less important for actual safe driving than situational awareness and a sense of how to operate in traffic. Many road signs just tell you things you should have noticed anyway, or things that are generally of minor importance.
  16. Depending on database size, and the desire not to do too big an update at once, I could see it taking a long time to do. I'd assume they phase the updates, instead of doing a single query on all accounts.
  17. This video is unrealistic. The car, groceries, wallet, etc. are all OK, but no true Canadian would give up his hockey tickets without a fight.
  18. Why would you *want* an expansion? Maybe Alaska with ice roads, but other than that, it's a truck. You drive it. California already has basically all the types of terrain, so I can't see why you'd need an expansion. Side note: Why would you play a video game about truck driving? Is truck driving somehow super-enjoyable?
  19. Also, Scotland is on the island of Great Britain, so even if Scotland becomes independent of the UK, you'll still be in Great Britain.
  20. All versions of LCPDFR work with EFLC.
  21. In EFLC, police3 and police4 work exactly the same as police and police2, including computer. policeb also works fully, except the siren doesn't make people pull over (a GTA thing, not an LCPDFR thing). You only don't get a computer if you manually add them to IV.
  22. Because THINK OF THE CHILDREN, of course. Or TERRORISTS. Sheesh, it's obvious why the government cares.
  23. And how do they know you're hiring a prostitute? Do they boot it while you're in the car with them? If not, I could see some decent challenges on the grounds that it isn't illegal to park in prostitution-heavy areas.
