Man, this thread is a dumpster fire full of ridiculousness.

Having read through the majority of the comments, I have yet to see a single reasonable request of the staff of the website. I have no idea how people expect their work to be made public on any website, and also be protected from theft, etc. You're trying to impose an impossible task upon the staff, of which the only solutions are to not post the content, or to only allow a select list of pre-screened people to download the item (Which is a nonsensical solution for a website of this nature).

The staff hosting the content on your behalf, only makes them responsible in so far as whether the content breaches their own rules, or applicable laws. That's like expecting walmart to prevent people from renting the movies purchased at their store to other people, or from people taking their item purchased on sale from  Walmart, and trying to return it for full price at Zellars. The site is a point of distribution, not a content management system on your behalf.

The effort required to circumvent additional security measures, such as requiring a membership, is so laughingly small compared to the effort to rip models/extract source code/etc., that it would only actually serve to hamper legitimate users. I also have no idea what the expectation of people is if they were to actually move to a different site to publicly release their model's. Public by nature means they will be accessible to the very people you wish to be protected from, as they are an unfortunate part of said public.

I also find it funny that content creators here are using the excuse "well, have you ever had your content stolen?", as if that provides any special perspective on the situation. Im in the opposite boat, in that I can't release any of my created content (only skins), because each one borrow's from someone else's work in some capacity, and i respect the author's wishes of the borrowed content. I don't need my content to be stolen, to have the perspective that having content stolen sucks.

Even banning a person becomes an iffy proposition, as different people can have the same username for different applications. Evidence only goes so far to say that a person named billy-joe-bob on discord (As an example) ripped the files, when the same billy-joe-bob on here could be from an entirely different country.

As to the way staff treated "the community", I didn't see the original thread, however this thread really isn't making me sympathize, as reasonableness is quite clearly not a requirement for entry.

Honestly, I dont know what happened, and I dont really care. You people are the undisputed queens of drama. The vast majority are completely incapable of simply communicating their issues in a civilized, intelligent manner, and certainly incapable of having any patience at all with a staff that does this entirely in their free time.  I get people are upset over something, but going on a rant and attacking staff is simply not the answer. Grow up and have some patience.

    Hey guys sorry to interrupt!

I fully understand how bad it is to get your mods stolen, ripped, leaked, whatever it may be, and from the perspective of a modder I understand all the outrage with the ripping that has been going on in both FR and the modding community in general.

However, what actually do you think the FR staff can do about this? Honestly, tell me what you think they can do to stop all ripping in the FR community. There is no answer, and the answer certainly isn't moving all your mods to a different website... That's just... fucking stupid. You still mod for the LSPDFR mod, and every one of you started with FR so let's not forget that, and maybe try to work together with the staff to try and stop it? Idfk that's just what im thinking as a concerned third party!

This is possibly the most ironic and hypocritical statement I have ever read on this site. Your big project, LSRD, is hardly a fresh idea... you're methodically copying features from the in-development EmergencyV, not to mention features from Better EMS and other mods. And let's think about some of the other plugins you've ripped off. Siren Mastery... which you copied the idea for and then released "coincidentally" during Albo's release livestream of his original Siren Mastery mod. And Alex's Emergency Strobes plugin, which you also copied. And probably other mods I've forgotten. You, of all people, have absolutely no right to talk about people coming up with "fresh ideas".

First of all, take it easy, man. There is no need to create such a hassle about this. As I explained above, I have seen a CPR mod (that offers only CPR from player to ped, no other callouts or so) a time ago. I saw that this individual removed support, so I 'Reloaded' the concept. I am trying my absolute best to make the animations and positions as best as possible.

The purpose of the mod is to add depth and realism to the game. Also, it adds something that I miss, performing CPR to a injured ped as a first responder.

I am  very sorry, I did not know your plugin offer such functions as I offer in my plugin.
Before you start blaming me, both PNWParksFan and Darkmyre have allowed me to do this and I have their support.

I do not want to start anything here, but I think neither should you. I do not like you responding like this, and I totally disagree with you with recommending people not to download my plugin. I find it unprofessional and rather rude.

    Thanks,

    Announcing the Coastal Callouts Beta!

I am very pleased to finally announce that Coastal Callouts is now in semi-public beta. To kick off the occasion, we have two new LSPDFR episodes from some of my favorite youtubers and fellow LSPDFR developers, @Darkmyre and @Albo1125. Please check out these videos to get a small preview of some of the features of Coastal Callouts! Rest assured this is just the beginning, there are several other callouts already in progress that are available to testers but not quite ready for videos, and many other features and callouts which are in progress and didn't make it into these two episodes.

Development of the mod is still ongoing, and it's not ready for release. In particular, I have yet to start working on an installer for the DLC, and I have numerous important features of the mod that are still incomplete or need significant improvement. However, it is at a point where it is stable enough and easy enough to use that I feel comfortable inviting more people to participate in the beta process. To keep the size of the testing team manageable, I have decided to make the beta available to people who have provided assistance in the development process, and to Parks Benefactors - people who have donated to support my mods. If you helped in the creation of this mod in some way, you should have already received an invitation via PM, and if you have already donated you should have received information about the Parks Benefactor program.

For those who have not yet joined, you can join the Parks Benefactor program at https://parksmods.com/donate/. Please take note that the lowest donation level, "parks supporter," does not include access to unreleased mods like Coastal Callouts, it only includes early access to updates to existing mods like Custom Backup and Better EMS. If you do chose to donate at the Parks Benefactor level or above, you will be granted beta access to all of my modifications, including Coastal Callouts and updates to all of my other plugins. Full details and terms & conditions are available on the web page above. Please make sure to accurately fill out your username on the donation form. After your donation is received, I will contact you via email or private message to invite you to the beta testing discord server, and get you set up to install and test the mod.

In addition to joining the Parks Benefactor program, you can also get access to the Coastal Callouts beta through any of the following:
Purchasing a 3D model that can be used with the Coastal Callouts DLC. Please PM me for information about what models are needed and which ones would be appropriate. Anybody who buys a model we need will get beta access, but you must confirm with me first to make sure somebody else hasn't already bought the model, and that it's suitable for conversion to GTA V. Make a donation of $50 or more to the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or JDRF. Please put PNWParksFan as the person you are donating on behalf of if the form has a place to specify. Then, PM me a screenshot of your donation receipt email, ensuring that the donation date, your email address, and the donation being on behalf of me are shown. If you currently or previously served in the US Coast Guard, and have some experience previously playing LSPDFR (e.g. you know how to install mods and are comfortable with basic LSPDFR gameplay) please send me a PM to be considered for beta participation.  I will randomly choose one person who has liked this post by 11:59 PM US Pacific Time on Friday, February 10th to receive free beta access!
Thank you again to everybody who has helped this mod get to this point, and especially to everybody who has already joined the Parks Benefactor program. I am looking forward to getting feedback from this wider audience, and continuing to improve the mod until it's ready for general release!

@Lt.Caine Hiya. Thanks for updating all of us so thoroughly. Just curious as to whether the current state of ELS allows emergency lighting to be seen from a distance on vehicles in the same way that the default coronas (I am assuming that's what they're called) do. It would be great if you wouldn't have to worry about realism being compromised due to the lights fading out after stepping away from your vehicle a few feet.

If you can successfully manage to go this route rather than the extras, would this mean that all vehicle models currently released would automatically be compatible with ELS? Also would we have to use ELS-specific lightbars and various other lighting parts when developing new models?

Also - I vote that @Albo1125 works with you to complete this. Anyone else? Like this up if you agree.

Hehe, it would probably be pretty great, especially since Albo is much more talented than I am.

Regarding an ELS release, I know the long wait has disappointed and frustrated many. For this, I apologize. Please keep in mind, however, that there is nothing more discouraging in this context than to work on a modification for so long and yet still not get to share it with others. After all, the purpose of taking on such a large endeavor, is in many ways to watch others explore, enjoy and benefit from it.
That said, why have we not been forthcoming with information regarding ELS? This has been a point of frustration for several members of the community, and understandably so. However unintentional the consequences may have been, the reason for this strategy was simple: nothing in ELS was--or is--set in stone. Throughout the development process, things have evolved, features have come and gone or been completely rethought. Even flash patterns have been redone about three to four times (that's hundreds of patterns!). Because ELS was--and is--constantly changing, an accurate picture of the mod could not really be conveyed to the public. We also wanted to strike a balance between reassuring the community that the mod was indeed in development, while not creating the type of hype that would result in people becoming impatient and ultimately frustrated. Perhaps that hasn't been entirely successful, in which case, I apologize.
At this point, most of the core ELS features are complete. However, a release is not yet possible for several reasons: a few core features still remain to be coded (takedowns, for instance); several features are being polished; and, I am constantly on the lookout for more ways to squeeze things out of the game in order to provide ELS users and vehicle modelers with more options and a better experience.
Furthermore, the recent developments regarding default siren ("carcols") configuration have provided a new avenue to explore for ELS. For instance, the entire "extra" method may be discarded and replaced with a new method using the "siren" parts. This is being explored, but is far from guaranteed. If it can be done, it would provide ELS with 20 individual lights as opposed to only 12, in addition to freeing up the extras to be used as random vehicle components--which, no doubt would be greatly appreciated. It would also mean more complex--and fun--flash patterns. However, this would also inevitably increase development time.
Were ELS a mod like most others, it might have already been released. However, the issue in this particular case is that ELS requires vehicle models configured to a particular standard. The fear is that were ELS to change dramatically due to a new development after an initial release, that players and websites would be cluttered with a plethora of obsolete vehicle models and ELS vehicle configuration files. Not to mention the confusion this would cause, which has materialized in the past. Therefore, the idea is to build ELS to a point where subsequent releases will feature only minor updates that won't disturb the community. And hopefully that won't take too much longer.
I hope this clears things up for most people interested in the development of ELS for V. I know it's been a very long wait, but I ask you for just a little more--just a little more time so that I can at least try to make it live up to your standards and expectations and prevent the need for huge messy overhauls down the road.

For those wondering about the damage issue, you may rest assured that it is fixed, but LMS is working on a solution that will make it portable and capable of withstanding GTA V game patches/updates. As for stability, there really is no comparison to be made to GTA IV. ELS V is extremely stable, and not a single crash has yet been reported outside of routine testing/development, even with AI vehicles enabled.

Are the lights more visible from a distance with ELS? In normal GTA the police lights fade away too soon.

I hope that ELS enables the lighting to be seen better in the distance. Hate how the standard lighting loses brightness so quickly after you step a few metres from your vehicle.

1.) Restore to vanilla via check integrity cache
    2.) Restore GTA.exe, GTALauncher in GTA V root  and update.rpf in /update
3.) Uninstall version 1.1.9.5 of Social Club and install:

Beta 4 is now available! The same download link as Beta 3 will take you to the new Beta 4, so if you have that link just go ahead and download the new version.
Lots of significant fixes and improvements in this version, with big thanks to everybody who helped report the various bugs and issues now resolved:
The INI file will actually work... hehe.  Animations are 1000% better. No more peds flying up in the air, and when the peds get set to alive in order to apply the CPR animations, they'll only insta-pop up for a split second - you can hardly see it. Overall the animations should actually look fairly smooth and natural now.  Internal improvements to the integration with Custom Backup, so if you're using Custom Backup you'll need to copy over the new DLL provided in the extras folder of the beta download.  Fixed a bug where canceling the EMS response would result in patient peds being frozen, invincible, and alive but in a death-like animation. Now when you cancel the EMS call peds will be cleaned up correctly.  Fixed a bug where if the 2nd unit to arrive on scene got stuck in traffic, its driver would stand up inside the vehicle and not actually be "in" the driver's seat if the first unit finished treating all patients before the 2nd unit arrived.  Various small bug fixes and many internal improvements.  We are getting pretty close to a public release! At this time I'm not in need of any additional beta testers, but for those of you already helping with the beta testing please do continue to provide feedback on the new version. Also, if anybody who makes LSPDFR YouTube videos is interested in doing a feature of this mod in their video, please PM me for details.

    Got some progress done today:
Minor tweaks to animations, hopefully reduces instances of peds occasionally flying off into the distance or at least brings them back if they do Removed a bunch of debugging notification popups (you'll still see them in the RPH log though) Finally added a configuration file! Now you'll be able to set all the keybindings, vehicle speeds, etc.  Firetruck and ambulance now leave their lights on until they get about 30m away from the scene, so their lights stay on while they're turning around in traffic Incident report now shows which peds are/were officers Experimented with putting a sheet over dead bodies. It didn't really work out... no good props for it and all the props that are available are rigid Expect beta 3 to be available sometime later this week!

Lots of improvements to the animations, although still some work to do in that regard. Hoping to send an update to the beta out this week. I've got the medics positioning themselves more or less in the right place now, i.e. not going through the motions 5 feet away from the subject. A few other improvements too, mostly internally with performance and such.
Today's screenshot from testing: This firefighter probably got disciplined for inappropriate behavior on the job. Gotta watch where you put those hands, Mr. firefighter! (Slightly NSFW, hence in spoiler.)

Quick update: still working on this mod, it's gradually coming together. Most recently have been working on the AI to coordinate keeping track of all the injured peds and the responders treating them. Also making some improvements to the driving AI to prevent the issue of units driving up to the scene at top speed, then slamming on the brakes and sliding into everything. Now they'll slow down when they get close and drive carefully up to the scene.
I've also pulled all the scanner audio needed to report the different types of injuries, and to say what type of unit is responding and from where. It'll even let you configure custom audio for each vehicle you specify, so if a fire truck comes it'll say "fire truck is en route code 3", but if a lifeguard is the first responder it'll say " life guard is responding" instead.

Thanks for the clarification, I had actually set it to 300 before seeing your reply and it seemed to be fine (I mostly play in Los Santos so it might make it easier then) though I was considering increasing it to 400 as it seemed still a little too close to me.
Even with 300 if you are on a road in the county backup will spawn right ahead of the suspects which feels like an I-win button. I am trying to find a value that would make backup close to what they were in 0.2, honestly it was perfect for me, they would show up in a timely manner in the city and it could take a little longer outside... as it should be.
