  1. You won't get a 180 on the actual driver AI in this game, sorry. Maybe small improvements if they can find a way to have the AI cars get a better pinpoint on exactly where the suspect vehicle is, rather than a general area (they usually hit me as a result unless I get out of the way). I'm only truly frustrated when I get out of my car and they come careening down the street and pin me against a car/tree/wall, etc.
  2. No, the game is written in Direct X graphical language, which Microsoft owns a patent on. That's why Mac users don't have much of a game selection. You can partition your hard drive and install Windows on it if you happen to have some free space, $199.99 USD and a recent Mac that has Intel based hardware and meets the minimum requirements for GTA IV. The $1000 sissy books that got discontinued recently wont cut it due to the 2GB of RAM and lack of a graphics card. Neither will the 13" pros since they still have no graphics card. You'd have to own a 15"/17" Macbook Pro of recent year model, or a reasonably powerful iMac with an AMD Radeon Graphics card. Even then, you can run the game, but not necessarily on high settings. For that you'd probably have to have a custom built "Mac Pro" desktop. Mmmm $6000 goodness.
  3. I'm getting really tired of all the GTA series police cars looking like the Crown Victorias from the 1990's. Can we PLEASE update the tail lights Rockstar? Please?
  4. Nope, nothing wrong with that. If armed robbery suspects spawn below me or fall off of a bridge or something, I'll pull out my rocket launcher and blow up the car to end the chase. lol
  5. Believe me if there was a source leak that would be much more dramatic than the build getting leaked. I don't think anybody would risk the source code by putting it up on only a moderately secure server hooked up to the internet. Then again, The Pentagon did that with a new weapons project last year, so...
  6. I don't think it's a bad thing to keep the idea ball rolling, just no requests for the moment I think. The developers have a ton of tickets already waiting for implementation, but I think if something was ridiculously revolutionary and nobody had thought of it yet, I'm sure they'd listen and consider it.
  7. This post sounds exactly like the last timer post we had. At least this timer is shorter so the thread won't be as long.
  8. You could potentially contest that because it's your experience playing the game that you're filming. But I wouldn't. lol I don't have the legal or financial backing to fight Rockstar in court in case they decide to cause trouble for me.
  9. It's too late to take it down, but I wouldn't advise any more timers at the top of the website due to the reputation they've gained around here. For those curious, I haven't received a "we're done" message from any of the developers, but we've been in the 'wrapping up' stages for a few weeks now, so an actual release wouldn't surprise me.
  10. I really almost laugh when I read this thread in its entirety, but then I'm kind of confused. Besides telling you (yet again) to patch your game and post a new diag log, all I have to say to everyone is: This is like an Abbott and Costello routine.
  11. Is that a serious response? And how do you only have 12 posts as a community team member? Also, 'Hot Coffee' wasn't a mod. Mods can't get games any different of a rating, they are community made and used on an individual basis. Tomb Raider would have been banned a long time ago if that wasn't the case.
  12. Make a website about it if you want, or a PDF/Word document. That would be a great way to keep the forum clutter clean, and just put a link in your signature. That way when somebody asks something, they can go off-site.
  13. You can try and use the swing set glitch to launch yourself over there without SNT. lol
  14. It depends on what mode you played in BFBC2, man. I played hardcore, since softcore wouldn't let sniper rifles kill people in one shot unless you hit their forehead. I haven't earned a proper sniper rifle in BF3 yet so I have no idea how they'll react, but currently the damage feels appropriate to me. I will say that the automatically regenerating health doesn't point to hardcore. So hardcore damage may be even more dramatic. In BFBC2 - Hardcore is appropriate, realistic damage. In Black Ops - Hardcore is one bullet, anywhere on the body death. Softcore is more appropriate. Battlefield 3 - TBA for now.
  15. Does it really matter? It's just a glitch, everyone concurs. The car didn't load the light bar for some odd reason. I'd consider it lucky that GTA IV might be coded to exclude an object and spawn the car anyway rather than panic and crash the game on everyone.
  16. Some are rarer than others. Drug deal is probably the rarest of build .91, armed robbery is kind of common, but you'll get swamped with mugging and suicide calls.
  17. Rage un-installing for getting owned? You need to learn some patience. lol Also remember that Punkbuster is currently disabled, shot registration is poor due to bad ping and character model animations aren't tight yet. But like .95, this beta changes every day, but only for official testers and the devs. ;) We get to play with an outdated build.
  18. For those of you playing on PC, I wanted to do a shameless plug really quick for an upstart clan I've developed for Battlefield 3. I'll keep this brief by just listing the following basic information. Name: Red Cell Clan Tag: [.red|cell.] Website: www.redcellclan.com Country/Timezone: US/Canada Perks so far: 32-man Battlefield 3 Ranked server 32-man Mumble VOIP server Clan forum Free training by me. lol Requirements: 16+ Headset/mic STEAM Origin (EA's Origin game client is required to run the game anyway) Teamwork That's about all, guys. The clan itself is currently North American based. I'm not opposed to European members, but you're going to have a hard time in our servers due to the high ping you'd get trying to send & receive data overseas. If there's enough of you who want to be a part of the clan, you can do what our starting members did and buy your own server by each putting in a little bit of money via PayPal and having one of you rent the server out in the name of the clan. That would be kind of neat to have a far-reaching clan with a US and a Euro server. We have plans for expansion into Call of Duty MW3 and Counterstrike: GO, but that will come later on. Hope to see some of you guys later on, and no; this will not take away any major time I dedicate to LCPD:FR.
  19. Theoretically that shouldn't work due to Windows registry incompatibilities but whatever works, I guess.
  20. Had to wrangle a gator yet?
  21. It's a bug. Vehicle model missing an object for whatever reason. Cool though, makes me feel good about using my 2nd police car slot for a slick-top CVPI. lol
  22. Oooh! I love riddles! (lol) Here's one:
  23. I'm amazed Jay and the rest of the devs haven't tried to leap through their screens to try and smack you with their copy of GTA IV for talking to people like that. I can't even count how many things were wrong with the way you posted. The giant font, the bold typeface, the blood red color, the aggressive language, the blame on others, the lack of diagnostic files, system specs or in-depth descriptions, the fact that you're using .95 and it clearly says all over the place that we don't support version .95 (read my signature if you don't know what that means), the repeated posting instead of using edits, the spelling/grammar mistakes, not reading the stickies before posting... it's overwhelming. Please conduct yourself in a calm and composed manner. GTA IV is a game, and you can live without it for a few hours while you wait for a response. That being said, we need more informaiton. Here's a good way to get you started: -Read the pinned/stickied threads first, and follow their instructions, make it about version .91, we don't support .95. -Post a diagnostic file. -Post your system specs. -Give a detailed description of your error messages. Write them down or take a screenshot, even. -Wait patiently, we'll work on getting you a solution.
  24. Helping to improve the quality and consistency of the product for all makes it release faster. -1 for you.
  25. It's fine. Are you insistent on liquid cooling? Generally it's not necessary unless you want absolutely no fan noise or if you plan on overclocking everything. Provided you have good case airflow, can cooling is fine.
