How to edit carvariations- policeold2 to work normal
I just recently did this myself. I'm not 100% sure of what exactly I did, but I took a shot at using the carvariations entry from whatever vehicle I was replacing it with and just overwriting the POLICEOLD2 entry and the changing the names where appropriate, and it seemed to work. The only thing I personally don't know (and I'd love to know the answer if anyone knows) is how to either add or remove the rotators from certain cars like the POLICE and SHERIFF models. The cars I have installed there actually have LED lightbars, but both the LED lights and the rotators show up, and I have no idea how to remove the rotators LOL.

- 559 downloads
- Version 1.1
The Modern Black & White Texture Pack Textures for 9 different popular vehicles spanning 3 different departments. I present to you my first publicly released texture pack, the Modern Black & White Texture Pack. This pack features textures for 9 different popular GTA V police vehicles, for those who want a sleek black & white look across their entire police fleet. It spans 3 different departments: Los Santos Police Department, Los Santos Sheriff Department, and Los Santos Highway Patrol. Also included is a LSPD K9 texture for the Tahoe. This pack only includes the textures, not the models. You can obtain the models via the links below. All textures are in standard PNG format and can be edited to suit your personal tastes. Please do not release modified versions of these textures without giving credit to myself for the original design. To install, simply replace the textures of your models with those included using OpenIV. Here are links to the models of the 9 vehicles included in the pack: LAPD Ford Police Interceptor Utility (2014): http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9136-lapd-ford-police-interceptor-utility-2014/ 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA LSPD/LSSD: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/8952-2014-chevrolet-impala-lspdlssd/ 2008 Tahoe PPV 1.4: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/8890-2008-tahoe-ppv-14/ 2012 LSPD Ford Taurus: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9427-2012-lspd-ford-taurus/ HAKUCHOU Police Motorcycle Model: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/10104-hakuchou-police-motorcycle-model/ Sheriff's Ford F-150 SVT Raptor - Code3 Defender Lightbar: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9163-sheriffs-ford-f-150-svt-raptor-code3-defender-lightbar/ 3 NEW VEHICLES ADDED - 02/22/2016! SPECIAL NOTE: The CVPI skin included in this pack was made from a generic template. It should work on any model that uses that specific template, which is posted below in the comments, but there are CVPI models out there that use other templates. If you'd like to request a specific one, post in the comments and I'll try to make it. If you'd like to request these textures for other vehicles, let me know in the Comments section as well and I'll update the pack as I add more. PLEASE USE THE REVIEW SECTION FOR REVIEWS ONLY! This is my first mod release and I'd like to get accurate feedback. Use the Comments section to request other vehicles, make suggestions, post bug reports, or post general comments. Thanks! -
vehicle request-for someone to make
I don't know anyone personally, but there are a lot of great modellers on this site and if you ask nicely I'm sure one of them would be willing to help make this a reality. I'm attaching some photos of the LSSD skins that I made for myself that I could send to you to put on your Explorer. These images show the graphics on the Taurus and the Tahoe, but putting it on the Explorer will only take me a few minutes. I don't have anything for Blaine county, but I could make something if I could locate a badge or star or something like that with "Blaine County Sheriff" on it. If we can't located a badge or star, I can just do plain text too.

I could definitely do the skins, I already have my own set of skins for both LSPD and LSSD, so it would be easy to do those. But, I have no 3D modelling experience at all and have no idea how to change the lighting setup on the model itself.

Modern & Realistic LSPD/LSSD Textures - Would You Want These?
Thank you for the feedback guys, I was actually considering finding a way to put the LSPD badge onto the police cars. I think I'll play around with that and see what I can come up with.

Modern & Realistic LSPD/LSSD Textures - Would You Want These?
Hello all! I've been working on a complete texture pack for my police fleet in GTA V, and I decided to post my work so far here and see if anyone would be interested in these textures for their own fleet. If I were to release the pack on the site, there are still a few tweaks I'd need to do to some of the textures and such, but with so many options out there already, I didn't know if adding yet another pack would interest anyone. I also wouldn't mind opinions on the textures and ideas for improvements, if anyone is bored enough to offer some LOL. The vehicles I use which are pictured below include the Ford Taurus, the Ford Interceptor Utility, and the Chevy Tahoe. Those are my main fleet vehicles with a few variations on each. So, what do you guys think? Would anyone be interested in a full pack of these?

looking for lspd and lssd car pack
Well, I've made a complete police fleet for myself with my own textures, I wouldn't mind packaging them up for you or anyone else who wants them. I was considering releasing the entire texture set but I haven't actually released a mod here on the site before and didn't know if anyone would even want these LOL. I can't take credit for any part of the models though, but I have modified the lights on almost all of them to suit my personal preference. Here's the fleet list: police - LSPD Ford Taurus police2 - LSPD Ford Interceptor Utility (Explorer) police3 - Highway Patrol Ford Taurus police4 - LSPD Tahoe policeb - Hakuchou Police Bike fbi - Unmarked Chevy Impala fbi2 - LSPD K9 Tahoe sheriff - LSSD Ford Taurus sheriff2 - LSSD Tahoe I've added a few photos to show the various textures too. I can package up the models and stuff, but you'll have to do some legwork to modify the vehicles.meta and carvariations.meta files to match the models, unless you have no other mods installed. Otherwise it could royally screw up your game if you replace your files with mine and you have other things installed.

Realistic LSPD Pack
I hated the default skins too, so I've made my own set of skins for LSPD and LSSD, I wouldn't mind packaging them up and posting them if you'd like. Currently, I'm using the Ford Taurus, the Ford Explorer/Utility Interceptor, and the Tahoe for my police fleets.

vehicle request-for someone to make
Well, the vehicle itself is already available here on the site, although the lighting setup is different. Making the skins wouldn't be terribly hard.

visualsettings.dat
Hey guys, I just updated GTA V today along with RH, ScriptHook, and all that mess. When I started the game, I noticed that the lighting was stock, so I stupidly placed my modified visualsettings.dat file into the game, overwriting the original without making a backup. Now, the game crashes before it even gets to the point to where it's loading the plugins. Does anyone have a visualsettings.dat file from the latest update that I could have in order to verify that this is what's causing the problem? Obviously they changed something and the old visualsettings files won't work anymore. I really, really don't want to wipe out my entire installation just to fix this one file. I've posted my RPH log file in the spoiler tag below, but I don't see anything that indicates a problem, which tells me it has to be something with a game file and not LSPDFR/RPH related. Any help would be most appreciated. NEVERMIND, I'm a complete idiot. I fixed it. ONE little mistype in the vehicles.meta file... geez.

Car modding
Instead of moving the files to patchday 4 or 5, I would just install your new vehicles into that folder and leave the old ones where they are. The game will read the files from the latest patchday folder and use those. But leaving the old cars where they are allows you to delete your modified cars and go back to vanilla if you find the need to. Or you can extract the vehicle files from the various folders in Open IV and install copies into your chosen patchday folder if you'd like. I used patchday5 because it was the highest folder I found with a vehicles.rpf file, and that file only had a couple of vehicles in it, which made it much easier to keep track of my police vehicles, instead of having to find them by sorting through ALL the game's vehicles. I would think that either one would work though.

Car modding
Well maybe I can help a little bit. First, I should say that I personally don't use a mod folder, so I don't know the specifics of setting that up. It's not required, although if you don't use one, you'll be modifying the game files themselves and you run the risk of messing something up. In my case, I have the Steam version so I can verify the game files and download the originals easily, and I also back up every file I tinker with. Someone else might be able to point you to a tutorial if you want to set up a mod folder. As for the cars, it's quite different than GTA IV. Because of Rockstar updates, various cars are located throughout various locations, and it can be a pain to sort out. For myself, I solved this by putting all of my modified police vehicles into the "patchday5ng" folder, and so far everything has worked perfectly. The exact path to the file is GTA V/update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday5ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf This is the file that you open up in OpenIV and where you can put all of your police vehicles. Now, this is a complete list of the available default police vehicles: fbi, fbi2, police, police2, police3, police4, policeb, policet, pranger, riot, sheriff, sheriff2 Depending on the configuration, each vehicle can have up to 4 files total, like this: police.yft - The actual vehicle model file, normal version police_hi.yft - The actual vehicle model file, high res version police.ytd - The texture file, normal version police+hi.ytd - The texture file, high res version All vehicles follow this naming structure. Some may have all 4 files, some may not. When you want to replace textures on a vehicle, you want to replace each individual texture in both the normal and high res files, and then you can view what it looks like by clicking on either of the yft files. In addition, things can get more complex when you have to edit other files like vehicles.meta or carvariations.meta to make sure the handling, lights, and other stuff work correctly. Really, the best way to learn is by trial and error and by following instructions in readme files. Most models have specific instructions on how to install them. The only thing that I personally do differently is that I install all my stuff in the file I mentioned above, so that way if I mess anything up, I can simply delete those files, restore my backups of the vehicles.meta and carvariations.meta files, and start again from scratch. Hopefully this was a bit helpful. I know the whole thing is seriously confusing.

North Carolina State Trooper Dodge Charger
You're very welcome!

North Carolina State Trooper Dodge Charger
How's this? Zip file with the texture is attached. I can edit the lights texture to make them all blue, but you'll still see red flashes on the ground and walls, no way to fix that unless I missed the news that someone managed to crack that particular code. northcarolina1.zip

Your police car as a traffic barrier?
Hiya guys. I just had a thought cross my mind and wondered if any of the scripters/programmers out there might think it's possible. There are quite a few mods out there that feature traffic barriers to help control traffic flow that you can place down and then remove at will. One good example of this is Traffic Policer with the Road Management menu. I was playing the game last night and inspiration struck me. Is it possible to program a script or plugin that, at the press of a hotkey, your police car will turn into a traffic barrier with the same properties as the ones in other mods? Basically, you park your car across the lane or whatever you want to block, and you press the hotkey and traffic immediately treats your car as a barrier and goes around it just like they do with cones and such. I have no programming knowledge or experience, so I have no idea where to begin to try to do this myself. I don't even know what tools you guys use to make plugins and scripts and callouts. I've toyed with the idea of learning how to do programming for LSPDFR, but I couldn't even guess where to begin. Anyways, it was just a thought that hit me, since placing and removing barriers manually can be a real pain at times, especially with traffic trying to run you down while you do so. And then they get tangled up in the barriers and you end up with a traffic jam anyway LOL.

Request: Arizona (LSHP) DPS Textures
Okay, I think I got the Taurus here. It's not perfect by any means, but I'm still a beginning texture artist LOL. It's modeled from the 2012 Taurus from here on the site, and there are 6 textures in the pack to replace the 6 that come on the Taurus. Taurus.zip

Request: Police Bike Mod
I'd love to see anything other than the bike that's in the game now. I really hate that thing LOL. I don't know a thing about modeling or I'd definitely help.

Request: Arizona (LSHP) DPS Textures
The Taurus is turning out to be a bit tricky, but I think I can manage to get it right. The Explorer is giving me a massive amount of problems. Nothing seems to line up properly no matter what I do, so the blue line along the side appears broken, like the vinyl graphic artist was drunk that morning LOL. I might have to defer to a more expert designer for that one. I'll try to get the Taurus done today, it still needs a lot of tweaks but I'm off today so I have some time.

Request: Arizona (LSHP) DPS Textures
Here we go, I changed the textures to match the MX7000 CVPI. Enjoy! I have to leave for work shortly so it might be late tonight or tomorrow before I can do the Explorer and Taurus. I've attached the texture files (there are 4 of them) so you can replace them in OpenIV. CVPI.zip

Washington DC Ford Explorer
Here's the conversion to the GTA V Explorer, but I don't wanna post the texture until I know what community policy is regarding this, since I can't take credit for creating it, only for converting it to the new model.

Washington DC Ford Explorer
I'm more than happy to convert the GTA IV texture to the GTA V model, but I've only been a lurker here and don't know the exact policy when it comes to converting someone else's work and posting it. I definitely don't want to step on any toes.

[REQ] K9 Skins for Charger, Explorer, Tahoe, and others
I love playing around with textures and I had this same problem. I made a K-9 unit for my own fleet, although I've never released my work online. I mostly made this texture myself, although I borrowed the "POLICE" font on the side of the Tahoe (not the one on the back, that's my creation) from another texture, and I can't remember which (could've been GTA IV or V). I wouldn't mind sending this to you if you'd like it. It's for the PPV Tahoe that's hosted here on the site.

[REQUEST] Vermont State Police CVPI
I'm pretty much unknown in the community here, but I'm a long time lurker and but I love playing with textures. I had considered tackling this for you but it looks like it's already been done (at least the texture has, don't know about the lights). https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/vermont-state-police-car

Request: Arizona (LSHP) DPS Textures
I'm pretty much unknown in the community here, but I'm a long time lurker and but I love playing with textures, and thought I'd give your request a try LOL. I'm not sure which CVPI you're using, so the template I used might not match yours, but is this close to what you were looking for? If so, I'll slap the textures onto the Explorer and Taurus (both of which I use) and upload them and you should be good to go.

2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA PPV UM/UC
Absolutely love this model. It's a permanent keeper. I am blown away by the LED lights used in the front window. I've been trying to perfect good LED lights for my game for quite some time, but I can never seem to get the color right. These are beyond perfect. I'd love to grab the texture and use it on all of the stock cars in their main lightbars. Would I be out of line to ask which texture you used for the lights? I checked out the vehicle file and assume it's one of those in the emerglights image, but when I tried to make my own LEDs and copy the exact colors, they still come out pink and teal, I just can't get it to look right. Yours look exactly the way police lights SHOULD look. Even if you're not open to letting me know the exact texture, still an amazing job on the model. Been having lots of fun with it.
