Purvess got a reaction from ZeFloppydopda in HELP with Police vehicle modsIf you want to follow the mods folder method you can read the instructions on setting it up here.
When you download a file from LCPDFR it should contain a read me file that shows where you need to install the mod.

Purvess reacted to Cyan in Keeping users safeI've begun flagging plugins and/or other modifications which do any of the following:
Automatically update from your server (as in; download a binary and run it/or replace) Use an .exe based setup program to download and install your plugin for the first time. (and you distribute only a launcher) This doesn't include:
Plugins which ship as an executable (for example, a setup program), provided they do not go online to download binaries of any sort. Plugins which check for updates against a remote server, but do not automatically download & install them (redirecting them to your website or LCPDFR.com to download is fine) Plugins which exhibit behavior we are flagging will see the following warning at the very top of the file page.
Caution! This file contains automatic update components and/or downloads initially from an off-site server which cannot be verified by our staff as clean. We are not responsible for any damages caused. This is mostly based from concerns aired from both staff and users.
I like to think when users download from LCPDFR.com they feel secure and protected. If we are unable to guarantee their safety, as we cannot verify external servers, I'd like to tell users so they can make an informed decision before downloading something that we, ourselves, are unable to verify.
If anybody has any questions, problems or issues with this, please leave a comment or private message me.

Purvess reacted to sjain in AI cops shooting cuffed suspectsI think that's the game mechanics. Maybe the animation which causes the suspect to touch you causes the cops (standby 'bodyguards' to the game) to effectively protect you by returning harm.
EDIT: What the fuck am I talking about. I need some sleep.

Purvess got a reaction from hsi700 in LCPDFR plugin keeps crashing over and overThe chances are it's crashing because you are using an outdated version of RPH. As of 26/08 RPH 0.24 is the newest version. You can download it here.

Purvess got a reaction from hsi700 in LCPDFR plugin keeps crashing over and overThe newest version of RPH uses C++ redist 2015.
To run RPH and play LSPDFR you will need to install them from Microsoft.

Purvess reacted to lilmisschloe in Cops derping? Anyone else?I found a solution :)
I just removed LSPDFR from the startup file you get with Ragehook, so I can play story and get chased if I wish....then if I want to be a cop, just use the console command to load LSPDFR :)
Thanks for the calification of the issue though guys :) I appreciate it :)

Purvess got a reaction from lilmisschloe in Cops derping? Anyone else?I get this aswell. Its probably just the game not allowing you to get wanted becuase LSPDFR is loaded.

Purvess reacted to LMS in About G17 Media/LSPDFR.This is because RAGEPluginHook and LSPDFR are technically very different. One exposes V's scripting functions and one actually uses them. This is the same setup for almost all script-based mods: You have a "script hook" and a mod. It also was the same in GTA IV and we didn't really provide support for the .NET ScriptHook either, at least not actively. Because of the limits we experienced with SHDN on IV (at least until Hazard added me to the repo so we could change some stuff we desperately needed) we decided to in fact have our own implementation, which is RAGEPluginHook. But a) since I'm the only team member of LSPDFR developing it (together with a non-team member) and b) because it's a completely different product with completely different support needs, there is also a separate website/forum. With V we are more close to the "full package" than we were with V. Most people just don't understand that LCPDFR on GTA IV had undergone six years of development, while LSPDFR and RAGEPluginHook is about three months. It just can't be perfect.
How not? Does Rockstar help you when the game doesn't work because of hardware/driver issues? I think we already provide a very good support considering the amount of time we have.

Purvess reacted toDeactivated Memberin About G17 Media/LSPDFR.There's a perfectly working forum on the RageHook website itself. It's much better having it all there than crowding up the LCPDFR forums. They're not denying to help you, they just don't want it blowing up the LCPDFR forums when there's the perfectly functional forum page on the RH website. That's why it's there. http://forums.ragepluginhook.net/
