i have also installed the update and i had one crash in 2 hours; HOWEVER, once a crash happens the game re loads by itself and returns you to the exact spot the crash happened :) no more going to the police department to re uniform after a crash. so now even if i get a crash its no biggie. it booted up by itself and returned me to the airport where the game crashed and my squad car was sitting right there waiting :D

YAY! the update worked the first time for me. everything ran smooth and i noticed the patrol boat piers can't wait to try it out but i must sleep sometime unfortunately. since everybodys installing experience will vary here are the steps i took. 1. disable avast for ten minutes 2. made a backup of my gta iv 3. download lcpdfr 1.0d 4. unzip and send to desktop 5. open lcpdfr 1.0d as administrator 6. install That is it. it installed itself perfectly. The only thing i still cannot do is use my credentials to sync with the forum. good luck everybody and hope it works for you too!!

hello did you fix your problem? if you are having trouble and need step by step help check out youtube for some videos of how to install. some of us have problems with the manual install and some with auto. i eventually had success with the manual install but that was after watching about fifteen youtube videos and finding the exact problem i was having. just don't give up because its a kick ass mod and you won't be able to stop playing so it is definitely worth the work!! good luck!

i honestly think the results are random with everyone. i also use the police helper with the current version of LCPDFR but the bait car works fine. however, the second i call for a fire truck using the police helper i crash. the tow truck, coroner, and ambulance all work perfectly too. hope ya can get it working right

i bought my PC version of GTA IV from Walmart for $8.98

is there any way to auto aim? i know we're trying to be realistic but sometimes i need that sucker to aim without having to change in game. also does everyone else have that problem with them leaving random cars with sirens on all over the city? it seems no matter where i go there are sirens going. its almost enough to drive me insane :P

dam. im not smart enough with the modding to help you too much. i wish i could send you a flash drive with the game on it haha :/ it took me days of figuring to get mine working but now its smooth sailing. i might start a thread and post links to everything i used to get mine going..i had several problems that needed fixed and those videos helped. remember if you are having problems try youtube. that is where i learned most of what i know about installing.

hmm. well i have never changed my pursuit key. i can't use the ` key either to join a pursuit. i have to press Y when they ask if i wanna join. and I push Alt E to tell the rest of the cops when i have a pursuit i am on. go back to the way you were playing when it wasnt crashing and see if any of those keys i suggested work for you.

this has happened to me too. it happened right after a crash and i reloaded the game immediately then it couldn't read the disc. what i did was re insert the disc and waited for the computer to recognize it with a notification. that way i knew for sure the disc was being read. if that is not your issue then please check to make sure your dvd drivers and player are updated and current. have you tried inserting another game disc to see if that one was having issues as well?

hmm. are you guys pressing play offline when the Rockstar Games box pops up? i am trying to think of the same problems i had couple weeks ago when i installed mine. that was a small problem for me was i kept hitting Play Online and it never got me anywhere :P

it could be literally anything. the mods you have installed most likely aren't causing the issue if you have been playing fine. did you change any car models? did you include a non-els car? i had a noose car parked in the save spot on my game then i went and tried to install a new noose car through open IV. when i restarted the game it crashed. i had to return the noose car that was in my saved game before it would restart. just try to remember any small changes you may have made in last two days. good luck :(

this story is awesome. my cousin is an officer here and her family invited a few families to their home this weekend and presented them with gifts and dinner for christmas. with all the crap bein talked about the police these days is nice to see a good story actually being reported on!!
