  1. Most departments in my area have the capability to catch up to anything running from them, and if they don't, there's always the State Troopers and their half dozen Chargers in the area, plus the hundred or so other officers who are on at any given time in my county who would be more than willing to try to intercept if they could. Overall, like unreal said, you're not going to find a car that can go about 120 in most cases, and you're going to have a hard time finding a driver who can drive at 120 without crashing. Most chases aren't going to get much above an average of 90, which officers are very capable of keeping up with.
  2. All in favor? All oppsed? This motion is passed by unanimous consent.
  3. In that case, wouldn't it be easy for someone to try and get an unlocked model from the creator and convert it into a Chevy Caprice with all the trimmings?

  5. Cages are not only common around my area, I think they're required by most agencies, as a way of protecting the officer. And yes, the standard form of a "cage" is a plexi screen in between the front seat and back seat, but my impression when looking at these cars is that there is no way to even fit a cage in there, while still fitting someone in the back seat. EDIT: Here's an article about Officer's skepticism about the car because of how small it is. http://www.policemag.com/Channel/Vehicles/Articles/2011/11/Choosing-Caprice.aspx Apparently, in the end though, their concern is addressed when they sit in it and like it.
  6. Those lights are becoming more and more frequent as the Tahoe picks up usage around the county. Two of my local departments have started the process of installing similar lighting, around the third brake light, at the top of the rear window, in an effort to get the lighting out from behind the tinting, which is quite dangerous during the day, due to the fact that tint+natural light outside=Greatly reduced LED visibility. So they're moving them to external lighting, so that you don't lose as much of the brilliance of the LEDs from the tint. And I have to say, it works. I've noticed that, with the external lighting, the visibility is about doubled.
  7. The Broward and Kent cars are unattractive. Kent is a college town, very busy, it surprises me they went with the caprice instead of the Impala. LAPD looks good, however, like you said, it's probably not their light package, probably one provided to them by Chevy. That's not even their standard lightbar as far as I know. That's the Alaska State Trooper's standard, however, I do not see this car being implemented in that state. The unmarked, it it weren't for the spotlight, you couldn't even tell it's a police car. I mean, other than the obvious that the model is only available to the police. But, without a cage in the back, it's most likely not a patrol unit, probably a detective unit, which, what's the point of hiding them if they're just going to be going to scenes to do investigations? EDIT: Quick question, other than the bars on the window, does anyone even see a cage on ANY of the vehicles NB posted pictures of? I don't actually see a cage on any of them....
  8. I don't think any department in my area intends to implement it. I wonder how far away I'm going to have to go to see one.
  9. City of Weed, California. They would be the Weed Police.
  10. Considering I live about 5 minutes away from Oakland County, it's nice to have someone showing MI liveries some love. I love the Tahoe skin. They just look so awesome, and so close to the real liveries (http://o3.aolcdn.com/dims-shared/dims3/PATCH/resize/273x203/http://hss-prod.hss.aol.com/hss/storage/patch/c3909aff0656770af7660a65b15e3d2e) Pretty sure I'm going to be using these until the pack for my county comes out next week.
  11. Are the Tahoes going to follow the standard template, or the new template for CJ's tahoes? Also, those are so detailed, it's amazing. I can even read the text on the vehicle ID cards saying not to tow the vehicle, but to contact the local offices. So awesome.
  12. So, I have been thinking about lightbars and all that, and I've been thinking about uses of lightbars in my area, and I realized something, and that is that, with most LED lightbars, and even some strobe lightbars, there is a possibility to turn off one side of the bar while leaving the other side on (the front and the back, not the left and the right). In my area, they do it all the time. They'll execute a traffic stop, and once they've done the initial talk and getting documents, they'll turn off the front of their lightbar, to save on their eyes, or whatever, and just leave the rear on, to provide rear warning. They do it for accidents as well. I was wondering if it would be possible to do this with ELS, like tie the back of the lightbar and the wig wags and all secondary lighting in to the Primary lights, and then tie the front of the lightbar into the Secondary lights, so you can switch the front of the lightbar off.
  13. It looks really good. I think if you add some "reflective tape" to the back bumper, that would make the back pop.
  14. Looks really good. The texture on the back looks awesome.
  15. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for a Tahoe with a Liberty and a traffic advisor. Awesome.
  16. I've had the same problem recently, and I just downloaded ELS v5 to try and fix the issue. I hope it's going to work.
  17. My only wish is that it used the default tahoe textures. It makes it hard for me to import my texture immediately. Otherwise, really good!Second complaint: There is an error with the handling line. When everything is all lined up properly, there is a glitch which causes the wheels to be seperated from the body by about 8 feet. When everything isn't all lined up, it bounces around like a spinning top.
  18. I love the Tahoe you just put out. Can't wait to get it in-game
  19. Would you rather me start another thread for a topic that already has two? I feel that this bump was more than appropriate, so I didn't have to make a third topic. And just because it's a little old, it means the topic of discussion is stale, and can't be talked about here anymore? I disagree.
  20. I do the former. It's easy, and it gets them out of the way. Sometimes it's a pain getting the tow truck there though, but generally I just throw on the directional lights on a cruiser to clear out the traffic. Also, sorry for the big bump, but I love this game, and I want to talk about it. lol
