Truck Chasers or Firefighters speak out?
I work with a local social media news organization, which every PD and FD agency in the area respects because of how much respect we have for them. So I don't have any hassles for chasing the trucks, going on scene and filming, even talking to them. Although generally, I'll just hear the callout on the scanner and head to the location that way. It's considerably easier.

Sad..Sad..sad.. :l, bullying hurts MOTH*R F*CKER :p
I think most people here have been through it. I mean, let's face it, we're on a website about modding a video game, 90% of us are nerds (Not a bad thing, I wear that badge with pride). It's these type of things that piss me off. This beautiful young woman was bullied to her last. That should never happen to anyone, where they feel like suicide is the only way out. But unfortunately, it's happening more frequently, and while awareness is going up, reactiveness of school staff is not. Most of them still see it as part of school, and they're unwilling to do anything to fix it. And until the attitude of bullying as "Part of life" changes, we'll keep seeing instances like this one.

Police vehicles with the most lights?
THIS ONE. I generally like cars with more lights, especially good solid 360 degree lighting setups, but this car just takes the cake in terms of over the top, to the point where I won't even use it. http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=444

GTAIV 2012 04 09 21 47 03 78
I love their semi-marked cars. But, just remember, there is no such thing as an unmarked MSP car. They have to be marked, in accordance with state law, on the passenger side door. As do all unmarked police cars, but few comply anymore. MSP always does though.

NYPD Taurus? Fo' real?
I personally love the Taurus. That one in the video looks sexy. And for whoever took the video, they might want to leave the area next time that happens, that's the bomb squad, lol

Michigan State Police trooper shot in Flint MI
Last night, a Michigan State Police trooper was shot in Flint MI while attempting to help someone in an altercation. He was shot in the abdomen, is okay, and was released from the hospital about three hours after he arrived. I work with a group in my area called Flint Police Operations, and we post scanner traffic on facebook. Last night, we went and pulled the actual audio from the shooting, and I thought that some of you might want to hear it, especially since you can hear the officer very clearly say several times "I've been shot". It's eerie to hear and to think about it. Here's the traffic.

I can imagine that the PKs weren't driving CVPIs. I can imagine they were just driving Bearcats, all of them.

What about a Crook Hook?
I would imagine there is some sort of legal precedent there that would prevent it from just being used on everyone that gets pulled over. Something along the lines of a violation of due process. Just like they can't put handcuffs on everyone that police talk to on the sidewalk, just to prevent them from running. Using the crook hook would essentially be the same thing as the officer immediately hopping out of his vehicle and putting a vehicle immobilizer (a boot) on your vehicle. If a cop did that to me, my lawyer would be getting a call.
-
What do you do?
Well, if you're not in complete RP mode, you could just cap him in the head and move on.
-
What about a Crook Hook?
That would be interesting. I don't know how it would work exactly, in terms of gameplay, but definitely interesting. However, in terms of real-world applications, I see that being completely ineffective. It would be hard enough to get into position for a PIT, much less to get within a foot of the bumper of a running vehicle going 90 miles per hour. And then there's the issue of what happens when the bad guy decides to slam on his brakes in an effort to get the police off his back.

Liberty City Stealth Crown Vic Texture
A few departments in my area use something similar, and it's a really good idea, until you consider the fact that they've still got a pushbar on the front, and they don't exactly work too hard at hiding the emergency lighting in the windows, which then makes it stick out like a sore thumb again.

Cops that just want the power
Cops in my area are generally exceptionally nice. I've been pulled over twice. Once was because I was in the area where they were searching for a guy who ran from them, and I was driving down the side streets where they were looking for him just wasting time with my friends, and they thought it was suspicious, ran me and my friends, had us pop the trunk so they could look, then let us go after apologizing and explaining what was going on. The second time was when the State Police pulled me over on the expressway because he thought I didn't have my seatbelt on, which where I'm from is a primary offense, and when he walked up, he realized that my jacket I was wearing was actually the same color as my seatbelt, and I have it come from behind my shoulder because I'm so tall, so he couldn't see it. He ran me, apologized for stopping me with no legitimate reason, and let me go.

GTAIV 2012 03 12 01 20 19 69
I saw something very very similar to this on 75 today just inside Genesee County, except one was on an entrance ramp NB clocking the SB vehicles, and then there was one on the SB ramp pulling them over after they passed.

Do police need faster cars?
I never, ever, ever would have guessed you are a LEO.

Do police need faster cars?
It doesn't hurt that the MSP are literally everywhere. They've got about 10-15 per county on I-75 alone.
