Mystery Vintage CHP Siren
Thanks for the suggestions. I settled it as being a PA1000-8Z based on the documentation provided here. Sadly the PA1000 tones online don't match up quite well with what was in the video, so I had to get creative and mix/match audio from a PA1000, PA20 and PA15 to get the tone as it is in the video.

Mystery Vintage CHP Siren
This mid 80s docu on LA drug enforcement has a cutaway shot of a CHP Diplomat going code. It seems to have a very different siren that isnt a PA500. Can anybody help in ID'ing what it is? Earlier in the video there's also a few shots of an unmarked LAPD LTD and Caprice. Part 2 of this docu has a rare shot of an 80s LAFD Chevy ambulance. This info might be worth it to some retro modders.

What siren is this?
You'll have to make it yourself. There are plenty of places to source the audio from.
-
What's this siren?
Whelen Epsilon....or any of the other Whelen sirens that share the same tones.
-
What siren is this?
Its actually the Code3 H2 Covert. Sounds very similar to the PA4000 but it isnt. The sudden fall in the wail tone gives it away. The other sirens are probably Federal AS series sirens, but I could be wrong. Europe uses tons of weird stuff.

Galls Street Thunder Siren?
According to a user on this site, Kentucky State Police use the Galls siren.

Can anyone ID what siren this is?
Thanks. I researched that, and apparently NYPD did use the PA300. Did they use a custom PA300 only for themselves (like FDNY or CHP with the PA500) or is this just a standard PA300 that was modified in an audio editor? I found what sounds like an older PA300, but it doesnt sound the same.

Can anyone ID what siren this is?
https://archive.org/details/NYPDAMERICANPOLICESIRENMP3 I went looking for clean loopable siren audio for a non GTA mod project and found this. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what brand/model this siren is. Listening to it again, it sounds like it could be a clean loop of a PA500 siren.

LASD Unmarked/Slicktop siren
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like it could be that. On a Mad Max Falcon of all things. In the mean time, I did a little toying around. I took a FedSig Touchmaster siren and pitched it up six times. It sounds fairly close. siren04 lasd.wav

Federal Signal Touchmaster TM4 audio
You will need to cut the source audio into loopable segments for wail, yelp, priority, etc. Step two would be to apply your pitch modifier or filter (for ex: to kill background noise) onto the single loop of sound. Apply the filter and test if the audio still loops smoothly. If it does, then you're good to go. If it doesnt, try copying the audio segment a few times so that it has 3 or 4 segments. Re-cut the audio out from this segment and test some more if it loops right.

LASD Unmarked/Slicktop siren
Ive been trying to get the siren down for the LA Sheriff Unmarked units seen in this video (10 seconds, 4:11 and 4:42) Am doing this for a non GTA project but am willing to share any audio if it benefits GTA modders. I believe its a Federal Signal branded siren but cannot find any that goes as high as these. Have they possibly modified the speaker or siren itself to go this high?

How many different lightbars uses your local PD?
From the Philippines, these are Chinese made knock-offs of Federal Signal's Jetsonic. Every cop cruiser, ambulance and fire engine runs these almost exclusively. Only USA type lights are on imported Ford E series ambulances that are owned by private hospitals. This thing probably wins the 'shitty lightbar' contest. Close up video on the thing.

[WIP] LAPD/LASD/CHP FPIU (2014)
Awesome. A proper LA Rambulance being done. Nice work. Only thing I could advise is making the black wheel arch cover a bit thicker, make it droop slightly lower. The mirrors as well would need swapping to the ones used on the 4500, but I'm sure you've got that covered.

GTA V LAFD Battalion Chief /EMS Suburban (Add on) (WIP)
In his defense, I havent seen him make such claims in this thread so I wouldnt hold that against him. Nobody needs to be perfect with regards to getting ELS correctly, and thats why I post here in order to help people doing LA based assets.

GTA V LAFD Battalion Chief /EMS Suburban (Add on) (WIP)
This should settle some confusion surrounding both vehicles. Ive done my research regarding, might as well share the answers. Not all batalion chiefs run with the XF bar and black bumpers. A compromise would be for mod author to do this skin instead if the accurate title is to remain. The EMS vehicles are driven by captains, not chiefs. It would be better IMO to add both battalion and EMS captain in the title to make it clear you're doing 2 vehicles. The command bits on the new Burbans are more or less similar to the old ones. Not sure if the Batt chiefs use C3 surface leds, these look like Whelen 700s due to the internal bits being different and the screws being closer to the edge. Here's the antenna setup on the roof. Enjoy having to model all them pointy bits. Hope this ends any hostilities.

GTA V LAFD Battalion Chief /EMS Suburban (Add on) (WIP)
I actually do 3D models, albeit low poly models for another game, so no bueno in GTAV. As to the lightbar, I think your problem is that the lightbar exists only on locked models that you cannot access. Hopefully you get something sorted out. Good luck.

GTA V LAFD Battalion Chief /EMS Suburban (Add on) (WIP)
The chief rig has a Code3 XF2300. I believe someone did one for GTAIV. Here's a very good image of the rear command modules on both the EMS and Bat rigs. The EMS rigs have Whelen M7's for their surface LEDs and a Code3 Defender for the lightbar. So far, looking very promising. Best of luck with the project.

OfficerWaller's Garage { Current Project: 1990s Orange County Sheriff, Ca Pack
I believe the actual Impala LAPD used was a test batch of about 5 or 10, from 8 years ago which would put it as a 2008 model. https://youtu.be/wr7MoQ7MRxg?t=105 They also did not have any hide away flashers, but only the stock GM provded ones. This is the only lighting video I could find of it.

What lightbar is this?
Already exists in GTA, someone just needs to mount and install it in Zmodeler/Blender (whatever preferred 3d software) and then export it into GTA 4 or 5.

[WIP] LAPD/LASD/CHP FPIU (2014)
To add to steinberg's info, all of the Liberty lightbar'd units have this park mode. I'm not sure how you guys will implement this until ELSV comes out. This is what he's talking about.

Glitchgamer's (nick's) WIP and model showroom
The all-red USAR rig has a walk-in door on the side because it doubles as a command vehicle. Something to consider once you start building interior components and the compartments too. It also has some really odd roof items, leftmost vehicle here: Both vehicles share the same purpose, except the older USAR rig is pure equipment, while the newer one doubles as a mobile command rig. Depends really on what kind of rig you want to do, or if you wanna do both. There exists a video tour of the vehicle, and LAFD's station 27. A little odd thing about these vehicles is that they have deployable spotlights. A video from my own non GTA mod project This isnt GTAV, but I thought all of the research for my own stuff will help you in getting this vehicle right. Real pic of a spotlight deployed one.

2014 Dodge Ram 1500
http://whelen.com/auto/product.php?head_id=4&cat_id=17&prod_id=325 Which confuses me since they list a 43.125 inch one, which is what Im going off from. A cop buddy of mine has a 48 inch Justice lightbar on his Ram, so I was going on that data. Liberties probably have different measurements on em, or my buddy got it wrong. As to OP, the Ram you have is looking good so far. Keep it up.

[WIP] LAPD/LASD/CHP FPIU (2014)
To stay relevant, I'll only keep with the Explorer conversation. The sedans and all other vehicles, feel free to PM me if you wanna share insights, speculation and factual knowledge. The steady burn on that Explorer may very well exist. The takedowns are probably the ones that are steady burn, one red, one blue. Digital video cameras unfortunately do not pickup LED or Strobe ELS correctly. Sometimes, something that is steady burn to a human eye actually blinks on camera. This is due to the differencies in the display frequency of the camera vs the flash frequency of the light. I've had some instances where a slower LED flash appears to have TV scanlines radiating within the light flash. There are numerous videos of CHP's standy mode with all lights on steady, but they are shown to be blinking at a very fast (almost dangerously blinding) rate once put in camera. This information hopefully will help people be more cautious when replicating light patterns off YouTube in the future.

2014 Dodge Ram 1500
Some modding resources for that lightbar exist in this community and GTAPoliceMods. Just be sure that you space out the modules and stretch the lightbar a bit, since pickup trucks tend to use 48 inchers rather than a normal vehicles 43. Good luck with your project.

[WIP] LAPD/LASD/CHP FPIU (2014)
The LASD Charger actually is a one off test vehicle. Offtopic here: The lightbar on it doesnt even look to be a Liberty but rather a Whelen Patriot due to how its thinner than a Liberty. The thick black gaskets also give it away to my eyes. There's also a pair Whelen Vertexes on the rear just underneath the 911 sticker and the front headlight turn signal. For everyone else interested including Desmond, LASD are running a mixed bag on their Explorers. They have a Whelen Legacy lightbar, some LIN6's on the rambar, ION's on the front facing part of the rambar, but Federal Signal MPS's on the rear hatch, and potentially FS Hide-away lights on the front headlights. The tail lights seem to be Whelen Vertexes that flash amber/blue alternating. I do not know what the deal is, but it most likely has to do with how FS products consitently cost more than Whelen's. Another factor is that the FS Arjent bar has been discontinued for a number of years now, so they need to replace their worn down lightbars with new ones. LAPD went with FS, LASD seems not to be the case. ELS pattern here, may not be possible to replicate just yet until ELSV is developed. Thanks for the answer. Good to know I only need to program in 2 sheriff cruisers, rather than having to make the Caprice, 09 Charger and Taurus work as well for my own non GTA mod project. Sad that none of the other 3 sedans made it in, but its what LASD deem to be in their best interest and for the taxpayer too.
