  1. Thanks for the pics, they help me in my non GTA mod stuff too. Do you have any numbers as to the ratio of Explorers (or other new vehicles) to the remaining CVPI's in the fleet? The Chargers were apparently test supervisor units. Im actually curious that Ford allowed CHP to test a Dodge product without making a fuss about the contract. Google search brings up this forum. http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/threads/150177/ Lots of discussion there about it. Pros/cons. This isnt the place for it though since this topic is about Desmond's Explorers. The good news is with the LASD version, you can reuse the Setina bar from the LAPD Traffic unit. This sheriff unit will require its own set of custom modelling though due to differences in ELS., I wish you the best in doing it and I'll be here to help you with identification.
  2. Am aware that only one exists. I believe it is a Humster3D model which is why it has so many issues according to you. Not saying that you have to make the 2016 units, just posting this out there so that people are aware that CHP didnt go to those white Chargers. They did test a few I believe.
  3. Nice work so far. Hopefully you get the LASD cruiser's spec right. They went through so many test variants and versions, its hard pinning down what exactly they use as of right now. The most likely unit is the one with the Whelen bar and rambar. It would be a 'first' for GTAV modding to get the latest sheriff Explorers correctly. If you need help getting the ELS right, I'll be available to share my info. I hate to be the harbringer of bad news, but a contact of mine sent me this.
  4. These pictures do help, but for my own modding attempts in Emergency 4. Thanks for the pics. As for Desmond, the CHP Explorer uses a whole bunch of Whelen Lin6's on the rambar. Mirror beams on the mirrors (mirror beams are just 500 series lightheads I believe). There's also a of these pair in the trunk mounted side by side, but they could also be Whelen Avengers. Someone correct me on this.
  5. Ive seen pictures of one with, another without. My guess is that LAPD didnt recieve the plates from DMV yet, but they put the vehicle in service anyway. They probably dont need plates though, since it clearly says 'LAPD' and has the unit number on it for identification.
  6. Emergency 4 Deluxe/911 First Responders Had to find a lot of contacts, speak with a lotta people and seek the ends of the internet to get to where I am. Its all low poly models though, so in case anyone asks, no, I am unable to model anything for GTAIV or V.
  7. My thoughts on this, since I've already done these LA theme vehicles for another game. This particular bomb squad K9 Explorer uses a Federal Signal Micropulse it looks like. The corners are sharp, unlike an Ion which is an oblong. Each division though seems to have a mixed bag of vehicles. Some Explorers have mirror ELS, others dont. Some have Whelen, others FS. Some divisions have the 2016 model, others the previous gen one. My assumption is that it has to do with budgetary reasons. They also probably have different ELS due to the fact they are testing equipment for their new vehicles and attempting to find the best setup for the money they paid. Even more interesting is that the K9 units have FedSig IPX's on the front grill. Something to note of when making this variant of vehicle. The Slicktop and unmk Tauruses exist, and use FedSig IPX's as well, but a different version. According to google, the Ultra version. The interior lightbar is a FedSig ILS. Rear is a SignalMaster just like the Explorer. There exists an unmarked Explorer variant, rarely seen in videos, but its out there. Some Loudlabs videos have them. Its pretty much the same setup as the K9 Explorer but only has an ILS interior lightbar instead of an Arjent.
