  1. That should've been included in the *.RAR, but ill post it here too.

  4. It should work fine then. Systemrequirementslab just checks what the developers minimum requirements are. inaccuracy is the developers fault.
  5. It should run fine on low settings. Your computers processor meets minimum requirements for GTA IV. Recommended: Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz Memory: 2GB (Windows XP) 2.5GB (Windows Vista) Free Hard Drive Space: 18GB Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870 Your ram is fine. Your OS is officially unsupported and is not guaranteed to run stability, but I use Windows 8 and have no problem. It just can be a pain to get it to install. Resolution is alright. Your video card will run it alright, but on lower setting. It'll run the most mods, but not well. When in doubt check http://systemrequirementslab.com/ I cant tell you exactly what mods will run, thats nearly impossible to see without seeing the code or simply running it on that computer.
  6. Changing hardware does not fix a software issue (like said above). If you make a typo in one part of the code, compile it and it crashes. It will always crash, no matter if you have a 90 core quantum computer. If you believe that, take a computer science class. GTA IV is a 32 bit game, it cant use more than what 4 GBs? The game can use as many cores as its programmed for, usually the technology that exited back when it was designed. Processors in 2008 were like 4 cores? So GTA IV shouldn't use more than that.
  7. I would but I don't have vanilla GTA, heavily modded, and I dont have the time to transfer the setup onto my laptop atm.
  8. When you're buying AlienWare, you're buying a brand name. My laptop is more powerful than most AlienWare computers for a fraction of what it costs to own one. Asus, mainly Asus ROG laptops, are top of the line for their price. This is my laptop, which I haven't found a game yet that wouldn't run on it. (Asus J73JW) 17.3-inch 1080p (1920x1080) display with LED backlighting Windows 8 64-bit Intel Core i7-740QM processor (1.73GHz/2.93GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB L3 cache) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M with 1.5GB GDDR5 Memory 8GB DDR3-1066 RAM (4x2GB) Two 500GB 7200RPM hard drives (Seagate Momentus 7200.4/ST9500420AS) (Non-RAID) Atheros AR9285 802.11n Wireless LAN adapter Built-in Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Blu-ray reader/8X DVD Super Multi drive 8-cell battery pack (14.8V, 5200mAh, 75Wh) Weight: 8.79 pounds Dimensions: 16.3" (W) x 12.6" (D) x 1.8" (H) It caught fire once however (I had a G73JH), but Asus replaced it with JW. Thats mainly because I use it A LOT with heavy load 24-7 (I design/develop games and software).
  9. Formatting the hard drive does nothing useful, except saving time deleting C:windows.old. The operating system moves all the old system files into a different directory than the main operating system. Nothing can go wrong with this process, except your hard drive failing, or running out of space. Upgrading is a different conversation, but this is for downgrading.
  10. If you want to install Windows 7 again, you'll lose all your programs and applications (and some drivers). You'll have to manually reinstall all of those. But the setup is simple if you do 'clean install' will KEEP all your personal files in C:Windows.old. Despite what they say, do not click format. This will delete all your data. Once you're done with transferring your data over you can delete C:Windows.old to save some disk space. You can also have both Windows 7 and Windows 8 running on a computer, it just complicates things. No need for another HDD.
  11. Update: Officers were trying to use non lethal beanbag rounds, but not all officers knew that and when they fired the beanbags. Some officers mistook it for shots and returned fire. So this was more or less an accidental shooting.
  12. Well yeah, its rare that police would pronounce someone dead unless they're decapitated. It looks like they used both lethal and nonlethal force in the end by the crap scattering across the ground. That could also be a shotgun I guess, usually beanbags are shot via shotguns.
  13. Thats generally how you're suppose to test the faulty power supply issue. If everything checks out its probably the card. Try the BETA Drivers Nvidia offers also sometimes its a problem with running a new OS like Windows 8. If someone helped you assemble it make sure all the components are tightly connected. I remember someone asked if they could help me I said sure and they ended up bending all the CPU pins on the motherboard (somehow?). Good luck!
  14. Having a GTA 560TI does not mean your power supply is sufficient/faulty. I would personally just have it RMA'd if your power supply isn't faulty and can hold the card.
  15. Assuming you checked the CPU temperature, but did you check the GPU temperature? Your graphics card could be failing or your hard drive if it also shuts off and reboots during high performance desktop work. If this is a hand built desktop another idea is the GPU is drawing too much power. If the shutdown occurs on graphical stress not involving games than it can be an array of issues like GPU or the OS itself. Try running this for 30 minutes http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ if it shuts off then its a GPU issue only. Overheating, not enough power or faulty GPU. Your GPU or power supply is faulty/insufficient, try and update the drivers and go from there.
