Rules for This Section
Looking to get a custom mod created? You've come to the right place. Whether you're looking for a vehicle, texture, ped, audio, or any other modification, you can ask someone to make one right here. There are a few rules, however. You may certainly: Ask for any type of modification to be made. Bump your topic ONCE after 30 DAYS if no one has replied or otherwise offered to help (violating this rule will get your topic removed!). You may do this once. You may not: Make requests for clan packs. If your clan needs a pack, feel free to say so on your profile or in your signature. Request ripped copies of someone else's work. Request mods that you intend to be private and thus will not be shared with the public. Create threads looking for mods that have already been made (please use the GTA IV Discussion forum for that). Offer to pay for mods. We can't ensure the privacy or security of anyone attempting money transfers, and we therefore do not want to allow it.

Downloads Section Overhaul + New File Approval System
That's a problem we already have. When approving, we don't check whether someone has permission by another user to release something. It would take weeks for some files to check with every single person about what parts can/can't be shared. When that happens, we need someone who knows about the permissions to report it like always.

Downloads Section Overhaul + New File Approval System
Essentially the same benefits as those who upload files. You won't have to wait as long for new content to appear - it will appear as soon as its submitted by an author. Beyond that there haven't been any changes from a downloader perspective.

Downloads Section Overhaul + New File Approval System
Downloads Section Overhaul We've launched an overhaul to the downloads section today. Including new fields, a revamped layout for actual download pages and the ability to link mods together - we hope that the new downloads section is a big improvement for everyone. There'll be more information regarding these changes in the next few days. New File Approval System Trial We're also announcing a significant change to our file approval system. With the number of files we have to process each day, it is becoming highly impractical to approve every single file. Due to the busy schedule of many moderators, files sometimes have to wait over a day or two before being processed. This can't continue, and we've definitely heard your complaints on the matter. As a result, we are starting a 1 month trial of a new system. Effective immediately, members will no longer have to have their files approved by moderators unless there are outstanding circumstances or the account is extremely new (less than 1.7% of members fall into those categories). In addition, thanks to the hard work from Cyan, we now have an automatic virus scan system. When a file gets uploaded, it is automatically scanned for viruses. If anything comes up, the file will be unapproved automatically. This will significantly reduce the chances of anyone slipping malware through. We will still be checking through files to look for any violations, and we encourage everyone to report files if they think something is incorrect. We know some files will still be improper, but the vast majority (over 70% of them) have been fine to approve as-is. We don't believe a minority of improper files should warrant every file having to wait days on end for approval. Anyone who fails to follow the upload instructions will have to deal with their files being taken down as soon as the problem is noticed. It is in your best interest, as well as ours, to follow all rules thoroughly before you submit a file. You don't want to have your file taken down randomly because you didn't follow the directions - no one will be able to download your file until you resolve any issues. Anyone who routinely has issues following proper upload rules will have their auto-approval privileges revoked until they learn how to upload correctly. In addition, we reserve the right to revoke anyone's auto-approval privileges if they repeatedly upload fake mods or other joke mods that are only designed to interfere with this site. On a related note, we will be phasing out the old system that allowed some members to bypass the approval system. Since almost every member can now bypass approval, there is no need for that system to exist. As an extension of the retirement of that system, members who have been allowed to change their profile backgrounds in addition to bypassing file approval will have that background feature revoked. That was a very old legacy system that hasn't been right for this site for a long time. If at the end of the one month trial (6th of March) or sooner, we determine that the new system is not working, we will revert back to the old approval system and attempt to enact some other internal changes instead. The profile background feature will not be restored, and the auto virus-scan feature will remain in place. If the new system seems to work, it will remain in effect until further notice and the old auto-approve system mentioned earlier for select members will be removed entirely. We will notify everyone on any updates to the approval system as additional posts in this thread. Malediction Asst. Community Manager.

VW Touran 2013 - WIP
Please do not post adfly links - you can show videos of your work, but don't direct our members to adfly to make money for yourself. You may add new links to your posts, just don't direct them to pay-from-click sites (or similar). Also, I reset your fonts to make them more readable.

Best car for prom?
I did it the proper way, and showed up with this: That's right, the invisible car! Oh it was perfect. Nah, I didn't even go. Didn't even remotely see any point in going to prom, it's a waste of time in my opinion. HOWEVER, this would honestly be a showstopper for prom (yes I'm being serious, it would be awesome to see the look on people's faces): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDoRmT0iRic

losing hope
I honestly cannot stand attitudes like this. No, civilisation is not going to suddenly collapse. There have been tragedies as long as the human race has existed on this planet. There have been wars, massacres, witch hunts, genocides, and all other manner of atrocities for millenia. If you're going to let the sensationalist media convince you the world is going to hell, fine, but it's your loss. There are plenty of examples of decent human beings, but you just don't hear about them because that isn't what people want to hear. Never has been. Just recently a news company devoted a single day to only positive news. Half of their member base abandoned the site. You hear all these stories of tragedies because that is what the media knows they can make money off. In addition, every generation had always claimed the next one is going to hell. And guess what? We are still here. How do you think the people who were forced to live through the one hundred year war felt? How do you think the people who lived during World War I and II felt? How do you think the people who lived during the cold war felt? They all wondered if civilisation would end tomorrow. And yet here we are. We pushed on, as we always have and as we always will. Many people no longer have to worry about catching the black plague or braving the elements day in and day out to scrape by a meager living. A lot of people do, sure, but nations are developing at their own paces. There will always be people using whatever belief they choose to warp as an excuse to murder others. There always have been and always will be (you do remember about the inquisition, yes?). The more evil you think the world is, the more evil you will inevitably end up seeing. People see what they want to see, and there is no changing that.

are we really positive
Abraxas is no longer around, and the last time anyone heard from him, his code was still private. Attempting to alter his code in any way and release it (even if he's long gone) would still be against his wishes. No one can be entirely sure if he'll come back and tell people to go ahead, but for now, we have to assume he doesn't want that to happen.

Do You Serve in Your Country's Military?
I thought about becoming a Doctor of Radiology (a.k.a. Radiologist, either with an M.D. or a D.O.) and then joining the Air Force as an Officer. The pay would have been the same or higher than private sector Radiologists ($400,000+), and the officer benefits were simply amazing. A friend of the family was a Chaplain with the Air Force and retired as a Colonel (highest achievable rank for that sector, since the next rank is General and I don't believe you can become a General if you're a Chaplain/Doctor/etc.). However, the military lifestyle is not for me and I quickly scrapped the idea entirely. I'm not even interested in medicine anymore, and abandoned the plan before I entered medical school. I'm now very happily employed in the IT sector and never regret my choice.

how much snow did you get?
Currently we have about 23 inches (58 cm) of snow with another 6 inches (15 cm) on the way. Tried snowblowing the driveway at 7PM tonight, quickly gave up and decided to let it go until the morning. Edit: the locale is southern Maine for those wondering.

GTA V: Hard Copy or Digital Version?
Still not sure of I'm even getting it at all, but it will always be digital for me. In my case, my Internet is pretty decent and downloads don't take all that long. I have almost zero storage space in my room for games, and the less clutter I have the better (I absolutely hate a cluttered room). Steam makes things far more convenient for me and the ability to verify game content is absolutely a must have if you frequently ruin your game by modding (*cough*). I have yet to have any issues at all with steam downloading games and have never had to re-download a game due to an error. I also hold no emotional attachment to opening or storing disk cases, they're just a tool to help potentially keep the disk from getting ruined (another benefit of digital).

Should The Politics Board Be Removed From LCPDFR?
Alrighty, I think the thread has pushed well past its expiration date now that we're approaching the personal attack phase. No, we won't be removing the politics section, though we'll likely step up the rule enforcement in that section and get a bit more strict with what's not allowed. Nothing to see here! Should The Politics Board Be Removed From LCPDFR?
Yes this is really the only thing I have in mind currently. Some people hate the Politics board and some people love it. Generally, those who hate dealing with politics and debates (like me!) give that section a very wide berth and are thus relatively unaffected by it. The way I see it, the Politics and current events section gives people a place to voice their opinions on matters that don't currently have a place anywhere else on the site. We don't like impromptu debates popping up in random discussion threads, and it's far better if people can create their own dedicated debate thread for a topic. The people who are the most likely to get caught up in the politics section are probably those who enjoy debating, and removing the section would thus deprive them of that arena. Likely to the dismay of some, I believe the only viable course of action is to become even more strict in how we handle debate threads. We must ensure they remain on topic, but without impeding the ability of the participants to debate. The major problem is that the politics section requires close monitoring, and if we're even 30 minutes late to a fight it spirals way out of control. There really isn't much we can do about that, though - we all have lives outside of the site, and none of us are prepared to sacrifice what little personal free time we have in monitoring the section constantly. The main way to fix this is to ensure we extinguish problems before they become real problems.

Should The Politics Board Be Removed From LCPDFR?
Removing the Politics board would just transition the threads into the General & Miscellaneous section. The same threads would still be made, just in a different place.

Things that are illegal in North Korea
Well, now that we've started to hit the personal attack/insult phase, I think we're done here (for now). I may reopen this later after things cool down a little bit more. Remember: the topic is North Korea and their however oppressed lives, not who helped to win World War II (although if that's a debate you want to have, feel free to make a thread on that). Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by LCPDFR.com staff. If you feel that this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.

Anyone Have a Clean Version (unmodified) version of a Max Payne 3 vehicle.img file?
We don't mind if individual vehicle backups are provided (it seems unlikely that would cause any trouble) but we don't really like entire vehicle archive backups being shared. We definitely won't stop anyone from trying to share them in private manners, but we don't like them being shared openly on the forums or elsewhere on our site. If you have a link to another website that has a backup archive, we are okay if that gets posted - we just don't want the whole thing on our site. Better safe than sorry, really. In essence: if you discuss it privately (a PM for example) and not on our forums, or only provide a link to another site, we're fine with that.

Is it okay
The handling file is fine, but we'd prefer if you didn't upload an entire copy of vehicles.img. If you want to provide backups for just the vehicles you've replaced, that will be okay.

lcpdfr as a homepage
Technically I do, although it's one of my three. My homepages are Google Play Music, LCPDFR, and my university's page.

ELITE: DANGEROUS - A SPACE FLIGHT SIM THING
I don't believe there are any plans to bring it to any store other than theirs, although you can easily make the steam overlay work with it and launch it through steam.

ELITE: DANGEROUS - A SPACE FLIGHT SIM THING
I purchased this a week or two ago and while I haven't had a lot of time to play, I definitely recommend it. Once you get the hang of the controls, the game really opens up and there is an amazing number of things you can do. At first I tried exploration, but after deciding that wasn't my thing, I started rolling in money by bounty hunting. There's a different activity for everyone, and a universe of possibilities.

Need full game for LCPDFR?
We won't be telling you - we don't support cracks or piracy in any way. Because this question has been answered, I'm closing this thread. You definitely have to buy the game, and if you want to try a crack, you can't use this site to get help with that. Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by LCPDFR.com staff.
