If launching the game via launchgtaiv.exe doesn't work, then it's not a steam issue (running it that way bypasses Steam). The game might have installed incorrectly. You can right click on GTA IV in your Steam library and select "Properties." Then click the Local Files tab and select Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This will re-download any corrupted game files (and replace any modified files). If that doesn't work, try uninstalling GTA IV and then reinstall it.

You can also use Steam to take screenshots. Even if you're using the disc version, you can still use the Steam Overlay to take screenshots. Or, you can use FRAPS or Bandicam, as mentioned above. I prefer using the Steam overlay personally.

As Sentinel said, you shouldn't have any issues with those parts (assuming the CPU uses the same socket and your power supply is good enough).

So you're complaining about a free modification on a free website, that was only coded by two people in their spare time? Regarding your previous thread, I replied with a detailed post about 1.0 and the banner, not a simple "lulnope." If you have any issues or questions about how a moderator does something, you have every right to PM us, but these should not be discussed in public. It's encouraged that you PM us. Some people can play for hours straight, and some can only play for a few minutes. Unfortunately, you happen to be in the latter group and there's nothing we can do about it. I'm truly sorry that you're having problems with this modification, but there's not much we can do and you shouldn't expect miracles when two (albeit very talented) scripters work with a very poorly optimized game (GTA IV) in their free time. As ineseri said, if you want to see if you can fix your crashes, people would be more than happy to help you in the lcpdfr support forum.

Alright well anyways, I think this is beginning to deviate from what Crickethill wanted to talk about. Point is, we can't support older scripts that aren't designed for 1.0.

I believe the API Key system is being worked on at the moment and may not be working right now.

There isn't a specific flag that will tell GTA to use more of your GPU. The only available flags are for memory usage. This reference is helpful: http://gtaforums.com/topic/382923-how-to-use-command-line-parameters/ You could try using the -noprecache setting, and maybe experiment with -percentvidmem 100. The best solution would be to get rid of any vehicle and script mods that you absolutely do not need.

I have the GTX 680M in mine and I can run the game on high settings without issue (so the game most certainly works fine on laptops), but the GTX 750M is an upper-mid-level laptop gaming card, and might not be enough. The GTX 750M != GTX 750, just like how the GTX 680M != GTX 680. This is the commandline I use: -reservedApp 0 -nomemrestrict -norestrictions I'm not sure if that will help you any. Only difference between yours and mine is that I use the -reservedApp flag, which theoretically allows the game to use more memory . If you have a lot of car and script mods, any system will eventually start to bog down substantially. How many mods do you have? Regarding 1.0.7.0, that's the patch you're supposed to be on, no issues there.
