I think the issue I'm having here is that I just simply don't understand this, right here. Are you saying that prostitution would happen in certain, legal, secluded areas and require a license? How would these licenses be checked, and by who? It's the specifics of the legalization that makes me not support that all. I just don't understand, or see, how this could logically work, under the law. My personal opinion doesn't mean anything. If it's legal, I'll defend it because you have that right. I just don't understand how it would work. Seems like the system would be difficult to monitor and upkeep. I'll follow the links when I get home.

I'm having issues on my side and I'm not able I follow links on my current device. I'm not completely bombing the idea of legalizing prostitution. Don't get me wrong though, I still think it's fucked up. I just do not understand how you can legalize prostitution, but have rules and guidelines on it. How would these rules be monitored and enforced? I've read a few brief explanations of a response to my question, but nothing that could realistically hold water. To me, it's like making blinking with one eye illegal. How the hell would you monitor that?

Now how exactly would these guidelines be enforced though? I can't see how prostitutions with guidelines can be enforced and monitored without it becoming absolutely legal.

Because it is about liberals. I'm only ever called arrogant by liberals or potential liberals. It is a left vs right issue, because I don't know a single Conservative that supports prostitution. I did indeed respond to several of the arguments listed above. Again, it's just not the response that people want to hear. I'm one of the majority that's against legalizing prostitution, but one in the minority that's willing to state it loud and proud. We can debate all we like, but it's very likely to remain illegal. That's good news to me, and life moves on. You also can't compare basic civil and equal rights to prostitution. You can't decide what color you'll be when you're born. All people are equal and serve equal opportunity and rights protected by the law. You aren't born a prostitute. You aren't born with the desire to have sex for money. You can't compare the two, because they're irrelevant to one another.

This is the one thing about Liberals that I don't get. I put forth several arguments and examples to support my claims, and you're now saying that I haven't put forward anything. You just simply disagree with everything I'm saying, and you want me to say something that you agree with. I didn't say what you wanted to hear, and that's why you're saying that I should put forth an argument. If you read back some you can easily see what my stance is, provided with several arguments. I recommend yu do so.

Because it isn't a matter of opinion, it's a matter of what's right and what's absolutely wrong. I'm glad that prostitution is illegal in most states. Hopefully it remains this way for a very long time.

Humans have emotions. The purpose of sex is to show great emotion and affection for another individual, be it man or woman. This isn't a moral or an opinion, it's a fact. Sex with no emotion is pointless and disgusting. There are certain guidelines and morals that we should be taught as children. Do not lie, do not cheat, do not steal, do not commit adultery, etc. Why are most of us taught these things? Because In this world you're either right or you're wrong. Lying is wrong. Cheating is wrong. Stealing is wrong. Killing is wrong. What makes adultery any better than the following? Sex isn't something that can be thrown around like its some kind of joke. Lets look at WHY people get into prostitution. If I'm married, financially well off, living in a beautiful home; then why would I need to look into prostitution? I think people only get into it for the money, and out of desperation. I don't know anyone mentally sane that would go have sex with some STD infested whore just for the hell of it. It doesn't make any sense. It's stupid and illogical. Oh and yes, politics do play a large role on this "issue".

I don't know a single, sane, mentally stable person who thinks that there isn't anything wrong with prostitution. The issue is whether or not it should even be a legal option, and protected under the US Constitution. I think it's disgusting, while we're at it, let's go ahead and legalize rape and child pornography. That's where the world is going at this rate.

I absolutely disagree. A significant portion of prostitutions happen in cars. Prostitution is sex for money, it isn't necessary to go any deeper into definition than that. The idea of people having sexbin a car for money is disgusting. I think that prostitution is disgusting altogether, but doing it in a car is 10x worse.

I don't have a clue what you just said but I'll say it again. Having sex in a car in an alley is disgusting, and should remain illegal. I can't imagine seeing or hearing something like that, and it be absolutely legal and protected under the US Constitution.

But sometimes morality is what's right. Morals say to treat people with respect. Even if you have no morals, you should still treat people with respect. It really does depend, but some things aren't opinion, and morals back them up.

That's more of an opinion really. This is where difference in morals, values, beliefs, religion come into play. It's a matter of opinion, and not everyone has the same opinion. If it were fact it wouldn't be an issue. The sky is blue. This is a fact, and it doesn't take much to prove it. How many people are out there debating that the sky is not blue? Not very many I'd assume.

And the sad part is that I'd probably be laughed at if I was addressing a group of people and stated this. Morality does play a large role in prostitution, and morality is very important. For example: I'm walking down the street and I see someone fall and get hurt. Morals and values would tell me to check on that person and see if they're alright. If I had no morals, I'd probably just keep walking and ignore them. The military, of any first world country, teaches morals and values. To say that morals and values are meaningless is not only ignorant, but above and beyond retarded.

This is a completely different topic, for a completely different discussion. This also isn't entirely true, plenty of people still oppose homosexuality.

I challenged someone previously on this same topic, but they didn't respond. I'm sure that you'll come up with a response. Do you mind explaining how legalizing prostitution will help these things? What good will come out of it, and its impact on society?

I don't think taking someone elses word is very wise, but I understand. It was a simple misunderstanding, it happens. :)
