With the paid mods bs and now "Creation Club", I'd be hesitant to give them ideas about profiting from mods.

I believe the forced updates came in around the time people started using 3dripperdx on OpenIV to "steal" models people had locked. The forced update to avoid people using a version of OpenIV that didn't break itself when 3dripperdx was detected. So blame that on people who lock the models they stole from other games.

At around 2017-06-03 22:08 BST a van hit several people on London Bridge. People also reported three men getting out of the van with large knives and stabbing people heading toward Borough Market. Armed Police, British Transport Police, and Counter Terrorism Special Forces Officers have responded. Air Ambulance units and London Ambulance Service members in ballistic gear.
