These "semi automatic killing machines" are some of the most popular rifles in the US. Lightweight, ambidextrous, comfortable to use, wildly popular for small game hunting, competition shooting & account for a nearly statistically irrelevant number of deaths yearly. You may not understand why anyone would need those rifles, but clearly millions of Americans do.

Terrible, but I hate to say I'm not too surprised. If all that's shown through the media is officers killing people and all that's discussed by community and national leaders is perceived issues of law enforcement with race its a ticking time bomb for people to act out violently. With guns, knives, vehicles even bombs (I read they were sending in an EOD bot to check the slain suspect's body for explosives). The rhetoric towards police in the United States even up to our highest officials has gotten absolutely despicable. If you were being told officers were driving around wildly looking for racial minorities or anyone of any group to murder for no reason (as the media & social media outlets seem to have a vested interest in making people believe), it would absolutely justify a violent response. The problem is, thats simply not the truth.

Yep that is pretty much exactly what I'm talking about, just having almost a cataloging of textures on the page of a specific model, so even if the model creator didn't make the textures, you can find ones that were made by other people specifically for that model. It would make the process much easier & the ease of access would probably help newer texture artists get more support & following if their work is good. edit: im sure the devs have their hands full with other things currently but I do hope they revisit an idea like this when able, I think it'd help improve the community

It would be pretty cool to have a system linking textures to models on the site, instead of people uploading textures & placing a link to the model in the description (it obviously still can be done if the model is not on this site) have a system in which you can select the model (for example have a prompt when uploading a texture file to choose/ provide the link for the file on the site to add to a list/menu) so when you open up the model's page you can have a menu to view all the textures files uploaded for that model and be able to click them to get to that texture's page. That way users wont have to sift through the lists of texture files if they're trying to find one for a specific vehicle. Feel free to take this down if it has already been suggested, I just got hit with the idea & naturally felt the need to share it

Facing the same issue with the retail version.

I was patrolling around south los santos in the rougher parts when a thug looking ai standing outside an apartment complex yelled something at me. I pulled over my cruiser and hopped out to see what was going on and four men sitting on the stoop of this complex began telling me I shouldn't be there, I called for two backup units code 2 and in the mean time the men dispersed. When I stepped in front of one of them to prevent him from leaving he stepped back and pulled out a handgun flashing it before putting it back in his waistband (which I thought was an awesome animation). I drew my weapon and placed him under arrest just as the backup units were arriving. This happened again with gang members that pulled weapons on me, I fired causing the entire neighborhood to turn against me and an all out battle with backup and swat. My real point in telling these in game stories is because I see some promise in the ai of particularly the "hood" characters, working very well will possible plain clothes officers. Undoubtedly I know there are limits for alot of the ambient ai's (for example the idiot drivers), but if at all possible it would be awesome to have ambient ai react differently around officers and make there a possibility for more problem solving based callouts or in game events as opposed to just shootouts and pursuits, more interaction with the communities of los santos and surrounding. Or to refine ai in such as way that something as simple as a phrase yelled at a passing cruiser can spiral into an officer needs help call when an ai is asked to be searched and a few guys on the street decide to jump the officer. Let me know what you guys think

I've been using the Gta mod manager for a few scripts I've downloaded, as I'm just now getting into gta 5 modding. The mod manager is perfect because all modifications done in single player are disabled when going online but I noticed I can't add .meta, .ytd, .dll when there's no .asi with it or a few other file types. Does anyone know if there's a way to add in these modified files through openiv/mod manager while still being able to play online vanilla??

I wanted to take the opportunity to remind all today in the United States is the day we pay tribute to those who have given their lives in defense of this nation. Regardless of political opinion or view on conflicts we take the time to remember those who gave everything as well as those who have served and those currently serving. I hate to sound like some call of duty kid but having much of my life centered around the military as well as shooting for sport, tactical team would be like a dream job but undercover is a close second

Such a horrible event, my heart goes out to the officer and his family. Maybe it's just the bias from living here and so many family members & friends serving with BPD but the Boston Police dept as a whole seems like it has rarely had bad publicity. While not all Boston officers are the friendliest they're always courteous and treat everyone fairly. The do the job right which makes it all the more troubling to see unprovoked attacks such as this.
