On one hand, there are those men and women who decide to sell their bodies by themselves. It's a choice of them, and they stand by it. No problem, they are free to do whatever they want with their bodies.

On the other hand, there are those men and women forced into prostitution, often abducted in foreign countries and drugged to keep them addicted so they -have- to prostitute themselves to get their dose of drugs (procurement and all that).

If prostitution was legal, it would open the gate to a lot of fucked up drifts in my opinion. At the very end, we are talking about human beings, not food. It shouldn't be legal to me.

So we've been quite noticeably silent over the past couple of months - there is reason behind the emptiness however, and much of it relates to how I and most others on the team have been increasingly busy with things in the real world and so on.  That doesn't mean that we're not still working away on LCPDFR, however, and it gets better than that as well because not only are we still pushing ahead with development on another update in the 1.0 series, but we've been focusing attention elsewhere as well - especially as it concerns both this community and the fast approaching GTA V which is seemingly just around the corner now.  Regardless, I thought that given the lack of news for a little while I'd take this opportunity to bring everyone back up to date with what we're doing and where we're going next.

    IPS 4

On the immediate horizon for us is IPS 4, which is the major overhaul of our community software that powers LCPDFR.com.  IPS 4 has been in development for quite some time now and we've had a pre-release version of it hosted on a testing website for just over a month now, too.  For more information about IPS 4 and to take a look at it in action, I'd recommend you visit the pre-release demo set up by IPS at http://zend.ipsdevserver.com/ips4/  In short though, IPS 4 brings a much more modern and streamlined framework for building a community driven website.  Admittedly, LCPDFR has rocked the same design for just under 3 years now, and I do feel like it is again time for a change.  With IPS 4, we will be rolling out an entirely new theme, loosely based on this dark blue which we first introduced in late 2011. We are hoping that this is something that will be completed by the end of the year, although with this one. the ball isn't really in our court - we're just waiting for the software to be properly released.

    LCPDFR 1.0

Back in the closing days of last year we released LCPDFR 1.0 - it was certainly a moment we'll never forget when our servers collapsed with all the downloads.  Throughout this year we've been updating LCPDFR 1.0 by bringing three patches, the last of which being 1.0c in summer of this year.  Work on the fourth patch, 1.0d, has, at a slow pace, been ongoing for a couple of months now and we'll be finishing it off by the end of this month if all goes to plan.  To give you an idea of some of the things that we've come up with for 1.0d, I've included an image I took a little while ago below:

    GTA V

Of course, ever present in the minds of everyone now I would assume is the impending release of GTA V on PC.  Certainly we're all hotly anticipating it as well and are of course fantasizing over the possibilities that it could bring in terms of modding.  I'm cautious to raise high hopes considering the direction that GTA V has taken in terms of multiplayer integration and the tight restrictions that Rockstar and Sony/Microsoft have imposed on the current-gen release, although this hasn't deterred anyone from investigating what it might take to get the ball rolling with GTA V.  Our own LMS has been hard at work, with some others, studying Max Payne 3, the latest title which Rockstar released for PC, and has reported varying degrees of success in terms of modding.  It still seems to be a subject of ambiguity, but let there be no doubt about it, we'd absolutely love, more than anything, to be able to launch an 'LSPDFR' for GTA V.

    Other notes

Despite GTA IV being nearly 6 years old, and LCPDFR being more than 5 years old, it is remarkable to see the level of interest that still surrounds us here on LCPDFR.com.  We recently just passed the 145,000 member mark and we're well on our way to reaching the big 150k.  I said last year (or at least I think I did) that it was an exciting time to be in the community with the release of LCPDFR 1.0 only weeks away.  Indeed, with just over two months until GTA V is released for PC, and a major website plus smaller LCPDFR update on the cards, I'd say that once again, it is definitely an exciting time to be here.

I found that when an injured pedestrian approaches you (from the Police Helper) asking for help, if you go to take them yourself and you have a police partner, the partner and injured civilian will battle over the front seat a few times before one of them giving up and sitting in the back. Everything else appears to be fine.

Can't we just declare marshal law there already? If these people wanna act like ignorant, entitled pricks who think it's okay to set off explosives, wield hand guns, or engage in acts of civil disobedience, then let's lock them down 24/7. Slap up road blocks with the National Guard. Nobody in, if they want to leave the town then let them out. Anybody on the street is subject to arrest. It's quite clear that the PD can't handle this. If they won't respect the men and women in blue, then maybe they'll respect a man or woman dressed in camo, armed with an M4 who don't fuck around. Jesus Christ, people amaze me to this day. This country is going down the shitter, due to self entitled pricks who think they know everything.

For anyone who's been paying attention my activity on the site over the past few months has been slim to none. I've been meaning to do this for awhile now so this will be my farewell and my announcement of "retirement". I've been an active member of this site for years now with over 1,000 posts, honestly I never thought I'd make 100 posts. I'm not going to ramble on and right an essay, there are just a few things I want to say. There have been so many people along the way that have helped me:
Nutt - who's been a great friend, contributed to many projects and has been with me since day one.
    Makinith29 - the YouTube legend
EFox - another good friend who has been with me from the start
KevinDV, EVI, BxBugs123, Voodoobie, Tim98 (or whatever he calls himself today) for all of the parts and support they have provided along the way.
Raptor422 and Strikeeagle345 - I was able to form great friendships with these guys and have a successful YouTube LCPD:FR patrol series.
Also a huge thank you to Sam and the developers of LCPD:FR, without you there wouldn't be any reason for all the great mods we make.
Anyone who has ever BETA tested for me - the mods weren't possible without you guys.
Anyone else I forgot, don't feel bad if I forgot your name, I just have trouble remembering everyone.

It all started with an unlocked CVPI, EVI's wheel pack, Code 3 XT6's and a Whelen Justice... I did it simply because I wanted 1 car, a slicktop unmarked CVPI with hubcaps. (link to my first model for anyone interested ?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>)'>?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>) I never intended to even release that or make any more cars than that but with almost 35 released files totaling 40,000 downloads on this site alone, I couldn't have asked for anything more. None of which would have been possible without you guys, the community.

Honestly I have no interest in modeling anymore, I haven't touched any projects in months and even in my free time I don't enjoy it like I use to. With work and the fact that what use to be a virtual law enforcement career is on its way to becoming a real life one I feel its time to part ways so I can focus fully on that, as I've been doing for awhile now. I had some great times on this forum and in this community as a whole and once again I thank everyone for that. GTA V has been in the back of my mind and while there is a chance I may come back and release content for that, well I wouldn't hold your breath. I will still lurk in the shadows as I've been doing and may occasionally posts here and there but for the most part this will conclude my time here.

THANK YOU and I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday and new year.

First of all, I've yet to encounter a police department in the United States with fully automatic rifles. If that's true, that's new to me. But, all the police departments I've encountered maintain semi-automatic rifles. At most, there's a the rifles with burst capacity. But, I've yet to see a police department get approval for a fully automatic rifle. So, if there's something like that, with proof, I'd highly appreciate a link.

Moving on with the topic, officers absolutely need the weapons. Without question, it's an additional method and step in the escalation of force as needed to stop any matching criminal activity encountered. The North Hollywood Shooting proves this fact all-together of how long it took for the SWAT team to arrive, the amount of damage that occurred as a result of well armored and equipped criminals, and the resulting loss of life. All of which could have been immediately solved if the officers had high-velocity rifles with range and stopping power. Those two bank robbers would have been stopped immediately. Semi-automatic weapons are precise, effective, and in trained hands excellent tools for better protecting and defending.

This situation can happen anywhere in the United States. To a large city like LA and Boston, to smaller towns in Montana and North Dakota. While SWAT teams are great for barricaded suspects and warrants, for actions that require immediate response, a patrol rifle is an immediate solution in the hands of a trained professional. I'll cite myself as the perfect example: While in Afghanistan, I utilized my primary weapon against a declared hostile that presented a clear and present danger. I never leveraged my weapon otherwise, and I utilized alternate methods of escalation before resulting in engaging the enemy. While I know this is a combat zone, Police Officers can get thrown into similar situations at a moments notice. To have the option can result in numerous lives being saved.

In short, It's better have have and not need than need and not have.

Also, in reference to the public opinion of the Mass State Police, just look at "The Departed." There is no such thing as a perfect or flawless police force, ever.

Alright so what really irritates me most of the time, is when I pull some1 over, my character always uses those really douchy "pull over" megaphone lines. Is there any way to disable that, other then muting the player?
Another question is if we could get rid of the stupid hand animation, when carrying a pistol. It doesn't even work properly, sometimes I get it unarmed, and sometimes I don't even get it when I have a pistol. It also messes up the aiming. Every time you wanna shoot, the weapon gets lowered for half a second, then comes back.
Another thing I noticed is that when we ask a person to get out of the car, we usually still have to deal with him/her, like giving citation/warning or arrest them. The only way I can interact with the person is if I aim my gun at him, press the arrest key, and then hold the arrest key, so I can give him/her a citation. So can you guys fix this in the next update of lcpdfr?

May I remind you who was at 9/11? Who caught the Boston bombers? Also we haven't had a defense war since WW2.

Who protects your community from murders, rapist, mugger? Not the Military...

Who makes sure the child molesters get put in jail? Not the military.. Oh, did you know that the CIA, FBI have taken out more terrorist leaders and have stopped more terrorist attacks then the Military?

So before you start saying Police Officers are overrated they protect this country more then soldiers do at this point... So I personally think the Military is overrated because we haven't had a single defensive war since the WW2

Also that is the national average, I don't think you know what a rush is, plus even if you do that's sort time, that's nothing compared to the 5-15 a day officers get for 20 years.
