Why is the AI Cops combat ability shit?

Featured Replies

So I recently noticed that the AI cops are kinda stupid when it comes to combat using guns, I saw this fourm https://gtaforums.com/topic/863681-why-is-ai-melee-such-sht/?tab=comments#comment-1068977879 and did the edits which made the suspect behave realistically, but the cops just dont shoot when they should and stand in cover, they only shoot more when they get hit and are on the ground. I called backups and they were just standing in the back not doing shit. Can this be fixed? @Sam

Also

During pursuit, there is a chance of LSPDFR crash when calling for air support, which is probably due to my backup config, but I think LSPDFR should be able to handle this instead of just crashing

In the wise words of @LMS, if you have a bad config, sooner or later something is going to go wrong.

Yes, I also noticed that in newest lspdfr 0.4,i remember in lspdfr 0.3 they were more aggresive and they at first shot and asked questions later.

Coincidentally this was probably one of the number one complaints about 0.3, we toned it down for 0.4 as such.

Can there be an option or a way for us the customize the aggressiveness of ai cops in gunfight please? I hate seeing officers returning fire after actually getting shot instead of shooting until the threat has been neutralized.

If you are talking about during a pursuit, it might be easier to just set Lethal Force to "Forced On" in the Pursuit Menu.

I actually tried that believe it or not, but the officers keep leaving the cover and aim a gun and then returning to their cover for no reason,  they sometimes shoot a few rounds, but they don't magdump until they are on the ground, it took around 30 cops with weapons from pistol to rifle to shotgun to neutralize 4 armed suspects in a pursuit and 4 cops got killed. This is really how bad it is and I hope it can either be toned up a bit or have an option to adjust for us

Si vous parlez pendant une poursuite, il est possible de forcer facilement le passage forcé dans "Forced On" dans le menu Poursuite.

yes Sam is right when he says that the NPCs COPS are content to aim and shoot once or twice instead of defending themselves when a criminal  empties his magazine and ends up wounded a serious cop before killing him, the cops only defend themselves when they are on the ground on the verge of death so it would be nice if the active "forced ON" that the cops fire without stopping until the criminal is neutralized

I will look into this further as what you describe sounds like a problem.

J'examinerai cela plus avant car ce que vous décrivez ressemble à un problème.

Will there be an update when you fix the problem so the cops shoot when we activate "Forced on" so they don’t have to wait for a criminal to shoot them in order to react, and so shoot as long as the suspect is not neutralized or as long as the player has not given order to stop fire with "Forced off" to let the suspect a chance to surrender
