23/11/2012 2.0 BETA released!

13/11/2012 New video: Pursuit of a wanted person:

I have put together another short video of the new version, this time showing off one of the new incidents which is a wanted suspect who has been traced near by. I accepted this call whilst dealing with another incident as explained in the video which is why I had to drive for quite some time to catch up with them, most of which was removed from the video.

Enjoy!

11/08/2012 BETA released!:- http://www.lcpdfr.co...olicing-script/

I present to you, a video (below) demonstrating a script I've been working on for a while now which will compliment policing in LCPD:FR. I call it the Policing Script (I'm great with names, I know). A list of current features follows:

Roads Policing features

  • Stop vehicles (other vehicles will not attempt to overtake)
  • Wave single stopped vehicles on or allow all stopped vehicles to move
  • Breathalyser with either a UK or US setting (if someone's over the limit, there's a chance they'll try to flee)
  • Order a person to step out of their vehicle (there's a chance they'll refuse, try to drive off or try to run away)
  • Order a person to return to their vehicle and resume their journey

General Policing features

  • Order a person to leave the area (there's a chance they'll refuse)
  • Breathalyse on foot
  • Resist Arrest

If you turn this on there's a chance persons you attempt to effect an arrest on will resist (lash out at you) or flee (still needs work). Aiming at a person or trying to use the E arrest will trigger this. There's a few in-game voices and animations included in this too.

  • Extra incidents

If you turn this on random events will be produced for you to police, including:

  • Persons suspected of having guns or knives (which can escalate into a shots fired/stabbing incident)
  • Robbery and Armed Robbery
  • Injured Persons (The longer you take to respond, the more likely they'll die if they've been seriously injured)
  • Disturbances (fights, drunkards and so forth)
  • Vehicles on fire
  • Road Traffic Accidents involving one or multiple vehicles
  • Stolen vehicles
  • Suspicious persons and vehicles
  • Assistance calls from other cops

And many more!

Looking at Friday 10th August for the release.

  • Showcase Video is here

  • 2.3 should fix any issues with locations not showing up.  There was also an issue in the previous version where resist arrest would prevent or sometimes crash when LCPDFR arresting, this has been fixe

Order a person to return to their vehicle and resume their journey

thank god (and you xD)

thats something i've been waiting for.

always annoys me that you can't check car trunks because once the suspects gets out of the car they don't go back into.

Stellar work, man. I hope the rest of the G17 makes good use of this.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been constantly tweaking things and I think it's close to where I want it to be. I have a quick story to share which took place whilst testing the script; unfortunately I wasn't recording. Long story short a vehicle lost control coming down a hill and clipped the back of my car. I proceeded to stop the vehicle and conducted a breath test with the driver, who blew over the limit. I then asked him to step out and stand still, he initially complied. I went to apply handcuffs and he decided to resist and began fighting with me, I deployed my taser at which point one of his passengers exits the vehicle and pulls out a knife and begins threatening me with it in a bid to help his friend escape! After a quick swipe of his knife in my direction (missing me) they both took off on foot.

That's just one example of how things can get (realistically) ugly fairly quickly using the script.

Very exciting, looking forward to see what you make of it

What can you do toward felony-stop style traffic stop arrests?

What do you mean? You can order folk out of their vehicle form a distance if you're aiming at them, there's a higher chance they'll take off though. This is a bit dodgy as by default when you aim at a driver they'll freak out, they'll do this momentarily before they decide to comply or drive away.

Braveheart I can't tell you how excited I am for this mod! Excellent work and great creativity.

Would be willing to share (or anyone) what type of siren you are using on your cruiser? Thanks!

Like if we could hit a key behind a car (perhaps it'd be better if we were in a car at the time) that would make the driver get out and kneel down in the old arrest position? Maybe with accompanying dialogue?

The context of the action would be a bit of a challenge though. It'd be fine to do it just on any random civilian car but generally if it could work on any fleeing suspect that'd be cool (maybe with only a limited chance of success, like a button to demand they stop with only a 15% chance of success and when it does succeed they'll get out and kneel down ready for arrest?). This is probably way too complicated but I really wouldn't know.

WOW! This script will surely make the gameplay more realistic and more enjoyable to play!

Nice work so far Braveheart, a great addon for the mod; after seeing the arrest resist command I think I'll be using a little more the batton XD

I have some suggestions, not sure if are possible to do, but anyway here they go:

1.In the fallen person callout, adding random people around the victim; if they are in an alley not, but if they are in the middle of the street adding some people around the victim would be more realistic.

2.When the guy resist to arrest, and starts running, instead of having to knock him down, sometimes the guy could surrender and stop.

3.In the vehicle on fire incident, in some adding randomly flames, althought they are of the style of the spawned with SNT and the car won't explode.
