How exactly do I download this? Everytime I download it instead of it being a rar it shows up as some weird notepad file.

 

Apoligies for the double post but does anyone know how to fix this? Would love to use this mod again but it won't let me download it at all.

What are the files called? There are 2 files that come with the download, Policing.ini and Policing.net.dll. These files go in the scripts folder in your GTA IV folder. as for it not downloading, I'm not sure what to do about that.

Odd, guess someone fixed the download ; everytime I downloaded it before it wouldn't be a .rar just a weird text file with a bunch of random letters and numbers.

Its working now though

My police station icons along with the red things that spawn you inside disappear after I install this script. Help

This mods worked fine until I installed the policing script and a couple of other mods ( a graphic mod, a FPS mod and a blood re-texture). After that the police station icons disappeared along with the red things that teleport you inside. I thought it was the policing script so I removed it, but nothing. I also removed the other mods and re-installed LCPDFR using the installer but the mod doesn't work (no police stations, nothing happens when I press Shift+Tab). The files are however in the scripts foldeer (the .dll, the .ini and the LCPDFR folder ). Any suggestions?

 

I only have the red blips disappear after I finish transporting a subject to the police station and running across the red blip to make the subject disappear following a LCPD:FR world event (police randomly chasing subject). I get a "Error in CS.Engine.Core". I thought it was PoliceHelper bug because I been playing this script for a while before I installed PoliceHelper.

 

 

I still seem to get breathalyser crashes in 2.3 when a driver fails a roadside breath test. Is anyone else experiencing this? If you aren't, what scripthook version are you using? 

 

I had the old scripthook and I thought breathalyzer script worked perfect but since I installed the new one, I receive a error every time I run the breathalyzer script.

As always, if you come across a positive breath test (over prescribed limit) there's a chance the person will try to drive off.

awesome dude i thought that was a gas pump at first LOL...i had to revert back to 2.1 because 2,3 for somereason would crash my game even when i wasnt using it

Pretty cool. A couple of things, though:

 

- When going to calls such as drunkards, or disturbing the peace, sometimes the suspect gets stuck and moves in one place. It's impossible to get him out by arresting,a sking to follow, asking to leave, etc. When doing Alt+Del, the red circle does not disappear at all from the map, and the person stays no matter how far away I travel from them.

 

- Feature request: Asking for ID outside of the car, and being able to check it through the laptop. For example, if someone is in an accident, and you can't pull them over, you should be able to ask that person, whether in the car or not, for an ID.

 

But, it is a very cool script. Good Great job on it.

love the ideas i also would like to see these implemented...always a bit annoying to have to pull someone over to check the id whenever theres a suspicious car

One more idea/bug report comebo.

 

Idea: Driver callbacks. Especially useful for motorcycles, where you can ask the rider to get off of the motorcycle during the stop. Also, the ability to frisk peds under arrest after being placed in handcuffs, without glitching and allowing them to run free.

 

Bug Reports: A few of them.

 

- When a traffic stop turns into a pursuit, and the driver exits the vehicle, all of the backup decides that they should fire for no reason, even when they raise their hands and are handcuffed. Driving away still continues the backup tirade.

 

- The LCPD:FR backup keys (F10-F12) do not work for Braveheart events. For example, stolen cars.

 

- Relating to the one with stuck peds, they become solid. Trying to ram them with a car actually causes damage to the car itself, and they do not move. They can't be shot, or influenced in any way. Something tells me this relates to the feature where health is replenished from fist fights, but I could be wrong.

 

Will report more as I find them. Hopefully these are helpful reports.

They are helpful!  A note on the bugs, fairly certain for the first two I would need the LCPDFR API so I can tell AI backup not to fire and allow you to call LCPDFR backup for pursuits.  Stuck peds, when where and how?

I tried recreating it. I found out a few things: It's a result of the Breathalyzer test, ONLY IF the test passes. If the test fails, the ped does not get stuck. Whether or not they're given level Bitch Please as a result of a fail, I don't know. I didn't test that. Also, the indicator only gets stuck if it's a result of a call out. A random ped does not seem to get stuck when you drive away from them (see indicator on map in the video).

 

So, without further to do, a visual description of the bug.

A suggestion that i have is for all your call outs, and the actual mod itself, you have various controls and for some, its hard to remember some of them. It would be cool to see something like vdh's policehelper kind of menu to help with the controls. Just pressing a button to bring up a box to tell you what the controls are for various things or such. Just a idea! Love what you're doing with everything!

for MyHogs: Make sure you disabled trainer keys as there is an option in there to freeze peds.

 

It's disabled.

 

Also, found out that the same thing happens to cars when you breathalyze somebody in them. Cars will take damage, but will not move.

 

Another thing... if you stop a vehicle using Alt+G, then use Alt+F to ask them to get out, you are able to walk through the door that they opened. If you use just F to force them out, the door acts as it should. If you use F after having using Alt+F on the same car, the door opens and closes as it should, but you are still able to walk through it. If you use F, then use Alt+F, the door is able to be walked through. So, it seems like the script is playing the animations as it should, but it's not modifying the collision models appropriately.
