Yeah not sure what the issue is, I guess .4 is just a bit more demanding and adding in modded vehicles and els tanks the game for some reason. It sucks that you can still run the game fine, no loss of quality or FPS but the Textures just delete themselves seemingly randomly.  .4 adds a lot and the LSPDFR team I know works hard and does their best to make a mod that transforms the game but I think they'll agree that modding LSPDFR itself to make their base mod even better is a huge part of the draw and immersion. If .4 causes texture loss regardless of the mods then I'll stick with .3

i have figured out somewhat of a work around for using custom vehicles.

if you like to check it out go for it, it worked for me.  It does require adding some things to your lspdfr.ini and it does disable some of the new "features" but they cause the texture loss issue at least for me, when using custom cars.

as @loleikz said, this seems to be a texture res overload. That pack uses a lot of 4K skins. I have a 32GB RAM, GTX 1080 and i7 6700K OC and I would still have that issue. Unless you have an i9 everyone will. Even if you play your vanilla flawlessly. Use gimp or paint.net to change image size from 4096x4096px to 2048x2048px and import those 2K

I was reading your post on page one, how do I use gimp to edit a dds file?

I don't know...

I'll definitely give that a shot and report back

you don't. instead of exporting a .dds you export in .png . that way all 3 most used raster editors can edit it.

Set your textures to normal and see if it works. I have naturalvisionremastered, LA roads and a bunch of other graphic overhaul mods and pretty much every texture go missing ONLY when I go On duty, but once I set textures to normal in settings, textures won't go away and everything is fine. I think my PC can't handle the game at this point with all the mods and etc. lol

What graphics/texture mods do you use? They're beautiful!

Unfortunately it looks to be something with 4.4. My old PC is am i7, 970GTX 32GB DDR3 Ram, about 6 years old. New PC is i9, 9900k, 2080Ti, 32 DDR4, about 2 weeks old. Each PC has exactly the same car pack (Elmos LSPD) and the same scripts. Only difference is my old PC has 4.0, new PC has 4.4. I'm having texture loss in 4.4, not with 4.0. Wish I could help you guys more, but that was what I narrowed it down too, at least on my systems.

And adding on for the final time, even after it works, after a while my textures go away again.

It's sadly not. what helped the texture loss a little was going through and making all my vehicle textures 2k and not 4k.

Yeah that was next lol

Even after that, it still doesn't work to well. I wish I had an old 0.3 file, it might be more laggy, unstable, and kind of a pain in the ass, but having double the vehicles I have now worked without texture loss.

I don't know...

This is a possible fix. I applied it last night for the first time upon reinstalling GTA V since i have a bran new install of Windows 10. This was mentioned by @Kalleboston so i hope he does not mind me copying and pasting it so nobody has to search for hours. I have also copied the link to the forum in question just in case it gives you guys some more tips. Here's the original topic in question.

Spoiler

"Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Whatever power plan you're using > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > Processor Power Management
From here you can see the minimum and maximum processor state. Set the maximum processor state to 99% and set the minimum to 99% or lower.
Doing this will disable your system from using Intel's turbo boost, limiting your CPU clock to ~2.5GHz instead of the maximum turbo clock of 3.5GHz for an individual core. This should drop your temperatures even further, even more than undervolting. "

This is a generic response for the texture loss forums.

Most of the answers we have all read will help. Disable "Main.PreloadAllModels", change 4K to 2K textures and so on. But the real deal is your texture quality in the GTA V settings. When I run LSPDFR with all emergency vehicles replaced and over 30 add on cars at HIGH texture quality, I face texture loss at maybe 20 minutes in at most. That's 20 minutes if I don't call in back up and make sure EMS and my custom corner van don't over lap.

When I place my texture quality to medium, I can play for hours so long as I don't crash for any reason. Granted, the game doesn't look as nice, and some folks may rather restart every 15 to 20 minutes, but with my PC and my settings, I can play for hours uninterrupted by broken textures. On top of changing texture quality to medium I also keep my distance scaling, population density & variety at 80% or lower which helps my system process everything. All other graphic settings are set to max.

Its amazing no one has ever solved this. Im new to gta mods, lspdfr and all that. I have a good rig, over medium specs (6700k, 2060rtx, 16gb ram) and i play gta v vanilla without any issues. Im tired of listening to people say "just put the main.preload all models to false"....i already did that, everyone here have done that. I also lower all 4k textures to 2k, it was better but the issue was still there, just takes longer to appear. Now my question is: if i dont even have a 2k monitor, wouldnt it be better instead of lowering 4k to 2k, lowering all the texturex to like 1980*1060 or something like that? i dont really know how textures work, but i can only watch videos in 1080p, so why would i have 2k textures if im not gonna see them? Issues with texture are killing my joy and will to play this beautiful and amazing mod.
