All these ideas sound great and I would also want to see them.

As for my ideas I would definitely want the map to also have maybe a farm region or low density(not like in GTA4 were its all tall buildings and sky scrapers).

A ranking system so that you can choose what type of law enforcement you are going to play with special events relating to that career. Very smart AI including back up units or fire/ems crews, but also so that you can tell them what to do and have more control over them. Maybe have events that can have an effect on the future of game play. eg if there are terrorists and they blow up a building that that building will be destroyed and maybe will be built up again or changed. I would also like to see realistic animations eg, hand going onto belt and drawing gun and then you see an empty holster. Maybe you could chose a country type so that you will have that type of uniform and police cars etc.

And I think I speak for all when I say that you should allow for modding such as new police skins or maybe different sirens.

Hey Harper, thanks for your feedback. I cannot say now all the features planned, but somethings you say is already deep in our Game Design Document :) There are a few things you, players, must know:

Sounds VERY promising from the details that you've given so far. I have a few questions:

1) What about the enviornment? Weather, etc.

2) What kind of environments are being added? Will there be different islands with differing weather?

3) Is it a top-down game or 3D?

Sorry if those points have been covered in previous posts.

Hey guys, thank you all for your feedback!

Many of the ideas posted we already have in our GDD, and some ideas it will simply not be possible to make (because of budget and dev time).

But I can guarantee many of your ideas WILL be implemented if we can continue with the project.

One thing we will certainlly have (even if the city cannot be really big) is a rural (something like this) area, where officers will have to explore and respond to calls of some crime in there. There are many features in our game that is not present in any police game ;)

@hckydude

We are indie developers, the price will be quite nice ;)

@PD-Freak

Modding is also something that will depends on our budget...

@ScottN

1) There will be day & night cycle, with rain and wind already planned (snow and others maybe not, because this can double our production time)

2) No islands planned, but a city, somekind of rural area... and if our budget is big enough, a bigger city or a second city. First things first :)

3) No top-down, is a GTA style game (camera and controlls), so, third person camera...

I can also anticipate that there will be already 2 Game Modes: Normal and Realistic. And, we want to make that: if players dies, it means something and expect a very NICE END for the game, we are making something very unique.

Thanks again so far, I really hope to get more votes here.

Cheers

EDIT: I put more answers about the others users questions, sorry, it did not save before :P

Hi can you make the game easy to make addons for like SDK and such? As many of us might want to add police vehicles, maps, and more weapons to the game just like GTA IV at the moment. SDK would be very useful and wouldn't limit the game to just one enviroment like quite a few police games out there right now. I have heard people buying games even more because of modifications, its a massive way to keep your game alive way after its sell-by-date (just look at Arma 2, GTA IV & SA for example).

this sounds amazing!! please keep us updated!

Nice guys, for the ones who did not answer the Poll yet, please do so ;) this is the first step to help us :)

About mods:

- Making a SDK or any kind of editor will depend a lot in our budget and if the project can become know among players.

- For now, it is a simple math: if we can gather attention of, at least, 1000 players to support, the game will happen... around 3k players and more, an editor may be possible.

- It is too early to think about it for now, we have to finish the main game mechanics first...

An example of what I'm saying can be found here: http://www.gamesforu...eedbacks-55957/

Until now I think I could not convince then about the game my team want to create, in my point of view, they are thinking like a GTA reversed, or any action-police game around there... they aren't getting the point that is a simulation game... and to know what players think about this (even thinking wrong about what we are offering) is the mission of this research/survey ;)

Thank you very much again!

Some websites which you might want to post on would be the emergencyplanet forums, possible you could start a forum or group on steam, there is gta mod centre, grand theft auto mods, there is also a emergency 4 wiki that you might be able to post in.

Also in the game would you be able to call for any type of backup such as firefighters or swat etc?

  • Author

Hey PD-Freak,

Yeah, I already posted in Emergency Foruns, but been on "Other Games" Foruns (or this one) is hard to get noticed :)

We will make more posts in another foruns too, but only next week probably, and thank you for the advices!

Well, people, keep voting please, for bad or good, we need that :)

Cheers

EDIT: buying GTA IV this week just to play this mod ;) (it has been a long time since the first police mods for GTA to me)

Nice guys, thanks for voting

Please, if possible, spread the word about what people think about a game like this ;)

You can find us also in Facebook: www.facebook.com/odingamestudio

If we get enough attention (or know that are players enough who can really play this game), we will start this project for good :)

I really hope this isn't a popularity stunt like the FDLC mod. This just sounds awesome.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

He means make an epic sounding game/mod JUST for the sole purpose of getting people's attention, then keep saying 'oh yeah we're nearing release', then when people start asking for stuff like pictures and a video you just 'quit' the project due to 'life issues' or etc. Necessarily saying that you fake an awesome sounding mod just to get all the attention and make yourself look cool and then drop it once you've had enough 'fun'.

But I think this project sounds promising.

Oh, I got it Duk, lol

No, I'm a professional game developer with an offical game studio running

As I said, we want first let people know that we have a project planned for a police sim game, but we need to know what you guys think... we are starting to spread this, also, we will post links to youtube channels and we will make a special page in our website soon...

There is just no pictures to show yet, because we only have a tech-demo, pretty rough... and this is not an active project, as soon as we finish this survey, we are going to start it... or not :) and when we start, we will going to make a demo, saying all specifications and features

If many people could help us spreading this, then we can really start earlier than planned...

Anyone can find us in Facebook or our webpage, and also check my background, so, we are not fake, heheheh

Cheers

It looks like a lot of the members here have already given you many ideas.

So there isn't much for me to say.

I wish you luck in creating this game, and I'm willing to support you, whether it's by spreading word of it, or donating.

Again, good luck,

-Nick
