GTA5 screwing customers... Again

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am new to posting forms so I don't know where this should go so mods, please move to where this needs to be
Anyway I was just with support for GTA to see if they would send me GTA 5 for steam or from there warehouse as I currently own GTA on disk, and the helpful support agent literally said that they cant help me, like they want to lose a customer, so for any of you people who own GTA5 on disk, make sure you own a disk drive for your computer so that you can keep playing GTA And LSPDFR, as now I can't until I get a new drive
Hopefully they get there stuff together and stop killing there early adopters who own there games on a 7 disks
Also, I hope that we as the GTA5 Player base can change there minds

according to this; https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/205359647/Support-For-GTAV-PC-Owners-to-Re-Download-GTAV-As-a-Digital-Copy you should be able to download an Installer that downloads the whole game via you CD-key. You still can't make it a steam copy but it should work.

Rockstar is not going to send you a free copy of a triple A, formerly $60 game.  I don't know the timeline of when your disc drive no longer worked, but I assume at the time of getting the game it worked.  This means the problem is on you, not Rockstar. It's your responsibility to buy the game again if you wan to play it.

Why exactly do you want it on steam?

My guess is because it's on Steam, right there whenever you need it.  No need to insert a disc, no need for extra steps, just click to install.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

I bought GTA V on disc a few years ago, and had to do a fresh install (all 7 discs ) and it just stopped working, never to load up again. Had to buy it on Steam in the end.

You literally can not blame a company for you no longer having a way to play a disk version of their game. You were provided the game in working order and did not initiate a refund at the time of purchase.

You can buy a DVD reader that works through USB 3.0 on Amazon for less than $30. Or, you can buy the game again for around the same price through Steam.
