Will LSPDFR ever be updated?

Recommended Posts

Just curious and I am unsure if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. Will LSPDFR get an update or are there any updates down the road for it? I am curious if there will be anymore Callouts and different scenarios implemented with LSDPFR instead of pursuits. I realize there are plugins and callout plugins, but I am curious if lspdfr will be updated?

Yes, LSPDFR is being updated and worked on, but there's no ETA on when it'll be finished.  Bare in mind, the developers are all volunteers doing this as a hobby, so while it might be frustrating to wait, their real life comes first.

Ahh sweet! That’s awesome to hear and reassuring. Thanks @Kallus Rourke I can’t wait to see an update for it as many others are I’m sure too. Seems like ragepluginhook updates weekly and many issues come with some updates. This recent one has been a big one for a few seems like.

We have a RAGEPluginHook developer on our team (LMS). This means RPH is always updated with LSPDFR compatibility in mind, to ensure updates don't cause issues.

Rockstar still hasn't offered Y'all any jobs yet?

Ha, they have a better chance of getting a job offer from Google.  Rockstar hiring big bad modders?  Blasphemy!

Rockstar has become infamously anti-modding.

They see it as a threat to their profit margins what with the explosion of GTA Online, Shark cards and pointless Online DLC expansion.

Single player is simply neglected - imagine how successful a police DLC story would be in the GTA universe with a story mode and open world LSPDFR like call outs/features would be?

In Rockstars eyes it's too much effort when they can sell cheap car add ons to console kiddies for maximum profit- they've lost their way in my opinion and for a British company it's sickening.

They're also against their game being used in other ways than they intended.  It's a game about being a criminal and doing bad things, how dare they try and be a good person!

Not against the mass selling/playing of their product by under 18 year olds though which is rife and can be widely evidenced, that would on paper constitute their product being used in other ways than intended but that has a positive balance to their balance sheet - I understand why Rockstar do all they can without impacting too heavily on their PR to prevent modding as they will argue it will impact on sales of official DLC packs/expansions (do expansions still exist in modern gaming still?)

I wouldn't say Rockstars intentions were 'good' they simply want as much control over their profit margins as they possibly can keep - the fact remains the reason why I and many others buy the PC version of their games going all the way back to GTA III was down to the modding scene, being able to implement new skins and vehicles easily was the number 1 reason I bought GTA 3 and Vice City on the PC, I remember having a full on argument with a friend of mine when GTA 3 was released on the PC and I bought it "What are you wasting your money for? You own it on the PS2" only for me to tell him about the Mods you could download - a week later there was a complete retexture pack where my game looked 10x better than the original PS2 version with loads more features.

PC ports/versions have always been far more versatile and in my opinion value for money.

I think a great part of what we do here is complete creative freedom to do whatever the hell we want. LSPDFR is our concept of a police mod. LCPDFR.com is our concept of a police modding site. Not Rockstar's or anyone elses'.

I don't think anybody on our team would really accept a job from Rockstar to do the same as what we're doing here, it would be a lot more commercialised and without freedom, and the outcome would probably be turning LSPDFR into some crappy GTA Online mode.

I agree with that. LSPDFR is a great police mod for gta v. Plus I will say it is much better than any police simulation game out there. Lspdfr is so much more realistic than any of them. I hope the lspdfr team keeps up this great work. And when GTA VI comes out down the road I hope you all can keep whatever city GTA VI keep a police first response mod for it. :)

It's a lack of vision within the modern gaming industry in general.

It says alot when the best police simulation game is a mod for GTA... A hell of alot - you should be very proud of your accomplishments.

Because there's no way in hell that Rockstar just has no idea about any of this. They've never heard of LCPDFR or LSPDFR. They've never heard of this website. They just don't know that there's an entire community based on it. Of course not... lmao

The only reason I still play GTA and even bought it again for PC was for LSPDFR. If LSPDFR didn't exist, my GTA 5 would probably be back behind the TV stand or something.
