400 wounded

Almost all were wounded by gunfire (granted, some might've been wounded by other people panicking and scattering).  That is chilling and really makes you realize just how prepared for murder he was.  He didn't plan to scare anyone, or have a specific target.  He was there for everyone.  It's truly saddening.

Update: 59 dead, 530 Injured. Apparently a lot of people were injured being hit by vehicles trying to flee the shooting. The gunfire audio is horrible to listen to, my thoughts and prayers go out to the people effected and the people of Las Vegas.

Anyway my thoughts on various things, we talked about it in school a bit but anyway first of all I think it is 100% a terror attack regardless of where he is from and his race etc. Domestic terror I guess would be a better term, honestly he is just a pussy. Hiding on the 32nd floor of a hotel room and firing upon innocent people, and then killing himself in the end not even giving the officers the satisfaction of ending his worthless life. Why couldn't he have killed himself before ending 59 other lives and ruining hundreds more. But anyway major props/respect goes out to the first responders and the officers who ran towards the gunfire helping out people, and I hope that makes people look better upon law enforcement. Still a major tragedy and yeah, that is what I think about it thanks good night. I guess this little paragraph was all over the place but yup.

I don't believe that in something like this it really matters if the person who pulls the trigger is right wing, left wing, or a chicken wing.  It's simply reprehensible and it's something so tragic that surely people of all political philosophies should be able to come together in search of a solution, not politicking or blame.

In short, please don't reply to this thread with attempts to advance your own political agendas.

Good professional and well thought out response, I really really wish half of my country thought like this at least.

Even though the Audio isnt the greatest in that initial shooting video linked I  am hearing reports from more then 1 weapon. I hear one that sounds like an AK and another that sounds more like a M249. Really curious to see what weapons were actually used.

Dude was armed to the teeth with at least 10 rifles, if not more.

Also I wanted to point out, he was not a loner by any means.  This seems to be 100% random, although an article I read said his father was a notorious criminal who had appeared on the FBI most wanted.  Possibly wanting to be "famous" like his father?  All speculation, and with him being deceased, we will never know.  I just hope he didn't do this "for fun".

This was the article I mentioned above:  https://www.yahoo.com/news/portrait-mass-killer-details-dont-add-231217887.html

Two photos of the weapons used have been released online. They appear to show two AR-15 rifles. One of them with a bump-fire stock and a 60-round magazine. That would kinda explain the high rate of fire and why it didn't sound like a "stable" rate of fire.

The other one with a magnified scope, bipod and regular 30-round magazine.

Really horrible that a person is able to do something like this. My thoughts and prayers are with the people involved.

I call bullshit on that one. Bump firing an AR platform does not sound like a SAW. The reason it doesnt sound stable to you in that video is because rounds are impacting 2-3 seconds before you hear the report of the weapon. Normally I am not a conspiracy type person. The number of weapons they found have now  doubled as well.

I am not sure how this sounded like a SAW and I highly doubt he was using a SAW. Police believe he has purchased the weapons legally. Also, it's a fact that one of the rifles has a bump-fire stock attached together with a 60-round magazine... as seen on the crime scene photos. I am by no means an expert, but from the videos I have seen it seems to fit in. There's a varying rate of fire that seems to slow down and speed up, plus every burst of fire appears to be around 60 rounds before there's a short break to reload.

Guns sound different in all environments, clearly one of the weapons had more than a typical extended magazine so we'll find out what it was if and when the rest of the evidence is publicly released. Although a lot of me doubts it was a 249.
