Getting the swing of this whole thing and very enjoyable thus far! Immersive!

I watched a heap of YouTube videos and all of the plice vehocles are well driven and controlled... seem to be very smooth whereas mine tend to jerla dn accelerate super quick when pushing the W key...

Do the expereicned folks here use controllers or mod the dring somehow or is it just plain old practice?

you'd have to edit the vehicle handling of the vehicle to get the desired smoothness, some is practice, some is controller

for driving, I use a MICROSOFT XBOX WIRED controller (dont buy anything other than an OFFICIAL MS controller.. others wont work) and the keyboard for walking/arresting etc.. much easier for me

I thinks its all about practice, and getting used to how the cars will respond. I use a keyboard for everything, and it seems to be OK for me.

Heck, the keyboard is useless to me for driving. I use a Sony Rumblepad2. Works like a charm for me!

oh, well you found a way to make it work! haha I couldn't get mine going!

I just plugged it in...let it install...started the game...told it direct input on runs fine..even got ELS to work with it >=3

I use PS3 controller, you wrong. I use it with DS3 Tool, I have nothing to do, just set Xbox Controller and that's it, it's put it as a Xbox even tho it's PS3 Controller, working perfect

Xpadder, I just mapped the controller keys, then mapped the L and R dpad button to the keyboard ELS keys, and LB to the ELS siren toggle. A tad glitchy, BUT IT WORKS! (insert evil laughing pony here oh wait...)

hmmm...

Look up GlovePIE. It lets you take any controller and make it emulate anything else.

For the driving I use a program called motionjoy and use it to trick the computer that my PS3 controller is a Xbox controller lol.
