I've installed PCVP71's 2011 CVPI in the police4 slot with a new skin to use as a highway patrol vehicle.

The only issue is that by default, police4 is an unmarked unit and the light bar isn't lighting up properly. I just need to get police4 working identically to police1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You will need to change police4's carvariations value to 13.

Since the original police4 carvariations lines are inaccessible, you will need to write new ones. This is why as a beginner it's easier to install add-on vehicles instead of replacing default ones. Install the vehicle files in a dlcpack which has a carvariations.meta (\dlc.rpf\common\data\carvariations.meta). You can mostly copy carvariations lines from another police vehicle. These lines dictate what colors the car will spawn in and set its lighting patterns. The value that your issue revolves around is "sirensetting" near the end of the document, it is probably 1, but needs to be 13.

Well, what would you have expected him to type into the search bar? It seems he isn't familiar with carvariations yet.

I typed "problem lightbar" (which is exactly what it is) in the search bar, and guess what, the guide I linked that would have solved his problem while explaining him the main info he needs to mod his game safely was the third result :)

 

 

Really, the search bar is a fantastic tool, if you actually bother using it :)
