No siren sound after mod

Featured Replies

Hey,

so I managed to finally import some modded sirens into V, however all of the cars lost their horns / siren sounds. I believe I read it back then, that it was connected with the new siren audio being longer than the original sound it replaced, however there's absolutely no way for me to make these sirens shorter. Is there a work around to fix the muted sirens?

The file size can't exceed 15.7 MB, if it does it'll mute all vehicle related sounds

(the vehicles.awc file)

To get more sirens download this sirens pack and open the rar go to Misc. Backup ( read readme ) > Backups > Dead air

and place the files into the exported vehicles.awc folder

I recommend u to find the largest files inside which are the train sounds and decrease quality a bit via online audio converter, it works for me (I have moded sound of ignition, gear change, sirens etc and my vehicles.awc is about 15 mb size

This. Also, if you're only after sirens, I'd suggest Albo's Siren Mastery. It's great, and you can make any siren you want, regardless of file size. You can also toggle lights with it too. Much easier  and simpler than fiddling with file sizes in the vehicles.awc file.

I also have the same problem, but this time, it was diffrent, i was doing a patrol with the lspdfr mod, was doing a traffic stop, then when i get out of my car and approach, lspdfr crashes randomly, so when i got back into the car, suddently, all of the sirens and horns are muted, some horns are in good order, but it's confusing.
