LCPDFR Installer .95 RC2 error

Recommended Posts

Ok,

on my old Vista computer , I had RC1 and than installed RC2 over it without a problem. However, I recenlty got a new Windows 7 computer and I installed just RC2. I installed it on a fresh copy of GTAIV, Everything worksout fine until it installs it, I get this error:

Installation component 'LCPDFRModels' error'd!

at G17MediaSetupEngine.Installation_Components.tazershit.beginComponent()

at G17MediaSetupEngine.UI.Interface.wizardControl1_SelectedPageChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)

at G17MediaSetupEngine.UI.Interface.wizardControl1_SelectedPageChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)

in game, I can not get the tazer to come up when i do Alt+T. (probably cuz of the componets.tazershit error)

Support would be grealty appreciated.

Can you run a diagnostic report and reply back with your results? The diagnostic program is located in the stickies.

One thing I want you to make sure of..make sure your GTA IV folder and directories are not read only. Right click the folder, click Properties..and at the bottom make sure read only is unchecked. Did you run the installer as administrator?

Run the installer as admin and remove the read-only properties from your GTA IV folder.

when ever i click "read only" it applies the changes, than i click "apply" and "ok" then I go back to the properties just to make sure and it has the "read only" check back on there.

Hello sir,

That's just a placeholder of the read only property. Can you run a diagnostic report (link is in my signature) and reply back with the results it gives you? Thanks.

I tried just installing RC2 again as admin without deleting the scripts etc., and that didn't work. To reinstall, would I have to delete all the LCPDFR files and then run the installer again?

That would be best--to install the mod over again cleanly. The files should all just be in the Scripts forlder. Just delete them and try running the installer again, this time with the appropriate admin privileges and with the game's directories not marked as "read-only."

Alright, so what is the error now? Is it the same one as before? If you ran it as admin by right-clicking it, going to "Properties" in the drop-down menu, then checking the box "Run as Administrator," and if your GTA IV root directory and all subdirectories are not set to be "read-only," then I don't see how the installer won't work, because it has worked for everyone else that have followed those exact steps correctly.

I can't seem to set the GTA IV Folders to Read only. On that check box, instead of a check, there is a square. I click it so there's no check mark/square and apply it to all folders, than I exit, but then when I go back to it, the square is there again. I can't seem to disalbe the read only property

Just remove the read-only property on the "Common" folder, making sure you apply it to all subfolders and files.

That didn't work either. I clicked "apply to all sub folders" etc. and they still didn't work. I went back to it and the square was back. I also went ahead and tried to do the same thing to the steam folder but with the same result
