The recommended RAM for Windows 10 is 2 GB minimum. GTA V recommended RAM is 8 GB. You may see the problem there.

Well yes but i always used 8GB and i only just upgraded to hyper x rams and only started to come across this it's when am installing games itself.

never had the issue with my old ones.

EDIT: plus GTA V should not be using all my ram during the install i clearly don't understand why i started to get this issue.

Strange though. I've 8GB of RAM and I never had that kind of crash. Doesn't even look like a RAM-related crash to me.

Make sure you don't have too many modded cars at once in your game and too many mods/plugins running at the same time.

  1. Try playing GTA with all mods removed. Stock vehicles, no scripthook, no RPH
  2. Run memtest86

If you're still having this issue Codex, are you running any anti-virus software?

I've seen some aggressive AV's cause high-memory usage during installs because they try to scan ever file as its added.

I've also seen non-legit Windows installs, i.e. cracked versions have this problem when there has been malware embedded in the OS.

Found the problem, if not part of it. Most web browsers are RAM hogs. Kill it before you launch.

The minimum spec's for GTAV is 4GB of ram so you shouldn't be having any issues with GTAV unless you have other processes going on in the back ground. Try turning of some start up programs from the task manager and re boot and also some other processes that might be running in the back ground that you don't need to see if that helps. You shouldn't be having any issues like that with your specs so hopefully that might help a little. Let us know how you get on.

I have 16GBs of RAM too and I get around 12GBs of (total) usage with chrome and a few other things (steam, notepad++, that sort of stuff) soooo yeah. I also have all police slots replaced and get like 3.7GB's VRAM Usage, remember, if your VRAM runs out, it will use your normal RAM.
Might have something to do with the fact that I have a virtual machine (of course, not activated while playing, but can mess those values up)

Now time to add 10 hi-poly planes to my game and see if it crashes! :teehee:
