LSPDFR
Hello everybody, my name is Matt! I am relativly new to the LSPDFR forums/community but I have been playing the mod for quite some time now.
I would just like to show the community a list of ideas and suggestion I have for future updates of LSPDFR!

----

1. Sirens

 - This is more a preference of the player but it is something I would like to see come back and have a option of, when your turn your sirens on in GTA V and leave the car they will automatically turn off, I would just like to see a option to keep them running even when out of the car; it would just make things a little more realistic and give a better feel to hop out of your car after a pursuit and hear your sirens running in the back ground, instead of hearing the A.I's sirens and knowing your about to get run over...

2. Traffic stop woop

- Currently in lspdfr when you start a traffic stop the lights turn on for a split second and the sirens woop along with it and the just the lights are on, I would like to see a option to disable that so just the lights turn on with any thing else happening, I always felt annoyed back in the lcpdfr days when you start a traffic stop and the cop would yell on the microphone, "Pull your a** over!"

3. License, registration, and proof of insurance

 - There are a couple of things I would like to see added/changed in this area, when asking for the license of the individual you have stopped sometimes they will have a ridiculous long name! Now I'm not asking for the names to be shorter but just a small change where the ID notification would stay on the screen until you have entered the name into the computer and not disappear after a short time, I just saves time instead of pausing the game and looking at the notifications' tab to look at the name again. Another thing in this area is I would like to see more detail when running the name or something new to add like registration and proof of insurance just to add more detail in the data base.

4. Lights

 - Now I know this is not completely a lspdfr thing but more of a light modification, but I love with all my heart the radiance mod by Bxbugs but something that would make the cars and lights allot cooler is to give the lights more reflection on the ground, what I mean by that is more of a real light affect where the lights reflect of the near by buildings or cars, mostly on the ground around you. Its just a personal preference I have but I would like something to come like that.

Thank you so much for reading this list! Note these are just my suggestions and preferences and just some minor things I would like to see come in future updates of LSPDFR.
                                                                                                                                                          -xMatt

I'd like everyone to keep in mind what LSPDFR is. LSPDFR is essentially; a script modification that manipulates existing items in the game to do things we want them to do. LCPDFR was never about adding in lighting rigging, or enabling a custom ENB, or changing car models, or altering sound files, etc. These are all things that may not suit everyone, as everyone's tastes are different, we cannot guarantee their quality, or their reliability when figuring in game stability. LSPDFR will most likely stay within the confines of a script, much like LCPDFR did, as it keeps things simple, and leaves things open for customization.

I'm not LMS or Sam, but I'll address your suggestions as best as I can as a tester.

-Your siren issue, as far as I'm aware, will probably be fixed when ELS is introduced, so you'll have to wait until that gets released. I'm not aware of a way to force toggle the sirens to always be on, and even if there was, you'd have to have it switched that way during the entire pursuit before you get out of your vehicle. Maybe LMS knows a way, but as I said, ELS will probably take care of this.

-The "woop" is far more realistic than being a prick over the P.A. system. You can remove that sound by replacing the "woop" file with a blank audio file, but then you'd wind up with nothing happening when you double tap the horn key quickly in a police cruiser outside of traffic stop scenarios. I'm sure this scenario will be taken into consideration, but I don't see this as a priority as it's more or less a nitpick issue. We'd like to further script stability, perhaps add more calls natively, perhaps introduce native measures for stopping pursuits like spike stripes, improve chase AI, improve arrest AI, suspect AI, etc. The more we can add to the core script without having to rely on a ton of 3rd party add-ons, the better, the way I see it.

-I expect the I.D. check system to be expanded in the future (including the return of the ability to run the names of ALL occupants of a vehicle, not just the driver), so I'd look out for that in the coming builds. We'll let everyone know with another preview what the next build will have in store. G17 and the testing team have made it a priority to bring back all features from LCPDFR, and as the I.D. is one of them, I think it's a safe bet.

-This will likely not be a part of LSPDFR as it goes beyond the confines of manipulating AI behavior, and is up to user preference. This is more of an ENB, Radience or ELS issue. Have a look at those mods.

On a separate note, why so many people complain about PA system? Isn't that normal to verbally order a vehicle to pull over? I wouldn't even notice a car behind me flashing lights in a complete silence. Or maybe I'm just used to the way people are pulled over in my country since there has to be a verbal order under the law...

No. I've been pulled over about 8 or 9 times by four different agencies. No sirens either, I always saw the lights in my rear view and side view mirror and pulled over.

Possibly. When you learn to drive in the United States by going to a driving school (as opposed to sitting on your ass until you're 18, then flying by the seat of your pants through the written and driving exam), you're taught to check your rear view mirror every 5 seconds (just using a split second glance, don't stare at it). If you learn this technique at the early age of 15/16, you typically carry it with you. LED lights are pretty damn bright too, and most American police cars have lights in all sorts of other places. The side view mirrors, wig-wags in the headlights or running lights, sometimes an added dash light, etc.

I've been pulled over once in 3 years, so check your speedometer more often :D

That's perhaps one of the weirdest foreign laws for me. I see lights -- I move over to give way. How do I reasonably know that's after me if no command is given? But of course that's the law of the land and there's no point in arguing.

Usually our cops will do a manual siren blip along with lights. I have heard one time an officer give instructions over the PA because clueless Sydney drivers can't drive at all.

(Seriously, sometimes I worry about failing the drivers ed test by like one mark because of some stupid question that might be there but when I see some of the people that have licenses here, I instantly loose all worries...)

What I really want to see in 0.4 is AI improvements. I understand that it is not that simple but something like safer chases but more optimised would be fantastic.

Well that's just it. The British highway code says to pull over as soon as it is safe to let them past. But if the police car stays behind you when you move over instead of passing you than they're probably signalling you to pull in.

You'll also find they'll probably be matching speed and be positioned directly behind you if they want you to stop. If they're looking to overtake they'll be closer to the central line checking it's safe for them to pass and they'll probably have come up behind you faster.

You'll know they've come up behind you quickly because you're a good driver who checks their mirrors often to see them approaching with their lights on ;)

Traffic stops aren't always about speeding, expand your imagination. As a couple of examples, one was for green accent lights which there is no law against in my state, but I was told they were "too close to blue" which is an emergency vehicle color, and was let go without a citation, since he couldn't cite me for something I didn't have. He was polite, but the whole traffic stop was essentially just a big waste of both our time. Another was for my tag light being out on my vehicle the day I bought it. I was again; let go without a citation. And as stated by someone from the UK up earlier in the thread; they'll match your speed and park behind you when they're stopping you. When you see either red or blue lights behind you in the U.S., you're supposed to pull over and stop until the emergency vehicle passes, not pull over and maintain your speed. You're also supposed to do this even if the emergency vehicle is going in the opposite direction in the other lane. Most people don't do the latter of the two because they don't give a s*** and they know a cop won't abandon an emergency call to spin around and pull them over just to bitch them out about being an idiot.

My imagination would never produce anything like that, since in Russia that would result in a complaint by the citizen to the supervisors and a subsequent administrative penalty for this officer...

Ah, so a stop is also required. Now I see why the way it happens in LSPDFR isn't completely realistic...

It isn't worth lodging a complaint for that. I can't get the 10-15 minutes of my life back even if I called up the station and said he needed his eyes checked. I haven't visited that town more than a few times since, and it's in a state I don't live in anymore anyway. As far as LSPDFR goes, the behavior for an AI suspect pulling over and stopping is exclusive to our script. It's hit or miss, but the mod is in its infancy. It took a while for LCPDFR to perfect it. I started out with version .91 of that mod and .95 was a HUGE step forward in almost every category. The cars in the base GTA V game and even in GTA IV react very quickly to sirens, although generally in the wrong way. When it's you in a police car, they tend to stop and sort of move over, but are often still in your way unfortunately. When it's an AI police car going by, they go crazy, slamming into walls, going into oncoming traffic and stopping. But that's opposed to GTA IV where they made absolutely no effort to yield to AI police cars as far as I can remember. That should serve as a hint to all of you as to how long it's been since I last played GTA IV.

In the States, maybe. Here a stop with no written record as a result is illegal, formally speaking. Generally I wouldn't care too, but something like that, like "you lights are too close to blue", sounds like BS to me. If they're blue please act accordingly, how could you let me go away then?

Oh like I said before I like the way things are in LSPDFR. A siren, a lights flash, and even a verbal. I enjoy that, and Albo's mods help with pull over locations

I actually like the traffic AI more back in Liberty. I don't know why, but GTA IV chases were better, even with 3-4 AI units. No one really tried to wreck the suspect (I would understand a PIT, but GTA V cops just hit them from behind, that's all!), they somehow did a better job maneuvering around. In GTA V the AI is better, but worse at the same time. I'm not sure LSPDFR can fix that...

The stop was BS, but he did document it with a written warning. I was one of the first to say GTA IV vehicle control and characteristics were way better than GTA V. Everything about it is worse. Speeds of vehicles, suspension, handling, damage/physics, PIT maneuvers basically don't work, and the BS ramming spot that immediately makes a car lose control regardless of your efforts to keep the vehicle straight. They more or less took everything good about GTA IV and threw it out the window when they made GTA V. Some things were re-done with improvements, some were made worse.

Warnings may only be issued by a court of law here :D Thanks to the lawless 90's today there are so many constraints to keep people in line...

There's a good saying 'Don't fix what isn't broken'. Every time I see vehicle damage or that injury system (yep, he takes several shots but dies from one punch, seems legit), I think about that saying.
