Oh. See you originally quoted me on a discussion about adding custom objects, which isn't possible right now, so I thought you were asking if I'd be adding custom objects with an OIV installer... which of course I won't because it isn't possible!

Yes, there will be a custom DLC for the bundled vehicles, and I will set up the download to work as an OIV package.

Actually pumped for this. I've also been looking for a boat trailer attach script forever, and was thinking about just making it if i ever got time. Nice to see the detail you are going into on this!

this is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated scripts in some time and its drivin me crazy. for those of us that played LCPDFR, the boat patrols were hideous, slow, and few and far between. i've been waiting almost two years to actually patrol the waters properly. even this takes til christmas, its gonna be an epic release. i'm gonna predict 3,000 downloads the first day.  i hope everybody gets behind this and helps promote it.

now my ideas more or less mimick the other suggestions. but i did have one weird one. since the ocean is gonna be so big and some callouts might be far off shore, is there anyway to put an island out there with a police station on it? so we dont have to drive back to shore to drop someone off?

Thanks for your kind words and enthusiasm! I hope you'll enjoy whenever it eventually gets released. 

I haven't gotten into any map building. Anybody who's skilled in that area and wants to contribute should PM me. I imagine there's a number of things that could be added in terms of coast guard/police stations and things like that. 

I do plan to integrate with arrest manager (and have been working with Albo to ensure they can integrate smoothly), so that you'll be able to do something with arrested peds at sea. At the moment, arrests don't work very well offshore, so it's going to require a lot of additional work before it's all ready, but I am taking that into consideration.

Working on it at this very moment. I just got home from vacation a couple days ago, but am now home and have resumed development. 

Spent quite a bit of time today on this after returning from vacation. Lots of work left to do of course, but making progress:

• Basic integration with Darkmyre's Partner Mod to make partner be the copilot when you rappel out of a helicopter (more to come)
• Improvements to other helicopter related functions that I can't quite tell you about yet
• Continued work on making arrests and traffic stops work smoothly on boats
• Started looking at ped modification - made some basic changes to s_m_y_uscg_01 to give it a retextured version of the SWAT helmet and redesigned the life vest. I'm planning to have a whole EUP extension included as part of the mod eventually, but am just starting to investigate this.

Might be worth talk to @Yard1 about the USCG ped I'm sure I saw he had something almost exactly like you described that's being put in RDE 3.0

Yah, I just saw that today in fact. I was mostly just experimenting for my own research so far, but will get in touch with Yard shortly. 

Development continues. Recent progress includes:

• Created method to make a ped swim to the player's boat and climb onto it (not necessarily into a seat). Will be used both for arrests of people in the water and for rescue oriented callouts. 
• Still working on making arrests go smoothly. Have succeeded in detecting when an arrest is occurring on the water, but still working on preventing some of the issues that arise with the default LSPDFR animations for an arrest when on the water. Also working with Albo on Arrest Manager integration to help facilitate these features. 
• Improvements to helicopter request functionality. 
• Major breakthrough in helicopter hoist functionality! I'm now able to make the rope spawn in at the proper starting length, which will enable realistic hoist operations from start to finish. Lots more work to do in this area, but figuring that out in particular was an important step.
