Change sirens on added cars

Featured Replies

In a nutshell i added in a new car using the extra car slots mod that I downloaded. I then installed an undercover mercedes. It works great the only problem is the siren. Its the regular patrol car one. My question is am i able to change it to the fib siren and how. Thanks in advance.

In the Vehicles.META there's a line that says <audioNameHash \> for each vehicle

If you want the FBI car to have the regular police siren you would change it too

<audioNameHash>POLICE2</audioNameHash> and this would give the FBI Buffalo the same engine noises and siren as the Police Buffalo

similarly  if you were to get crazy you could change the Police transport to

<audioNameHash>AMBULANCE</audioNameHash> and this would give the Police Transport the Ambulance siren and engine noise

Do you know if the siren and engine sounds can be separated? Say if I have and undercover 'gauntlet' I want the engine to sound like a 'gauntlet' (muscle), but the siren to sound like a police car. If I just use 'gauntlet' in the <audioNameHash>, the engine works but there's no siren.

I think the only way if you could get that to work is if you extract the Musclecar1_US_V8 sounds, rename them to Saloon7_US_V8 (Police1 engine sounds)

I haven't tried it myself but thats what i would do in that situation

Sorry if therese are noob questions, but I just started dabbling in vehicle modding a few days ago. Where would I find these sounds and how would I extract/replace them? Also, you don't happen to have (really) basic experience in zmodeler3 and texturing? So far I'm limited to adding invisible lights because any solid model I do requires textures :)

mods (if you use a mod folder)>x64>audio>sfx>STREAMED_VEHICLES_GRANULAR

You should see them there. Chose the vehicle engine you want to use, drag it to your desktop and rename it to

Saloon7_US_V8  (Police/Police4/Sheriff)

I dont know what the name is for the Buffalo or Interceptor

Wouldn't that make the police car engines sound like muscle cars?

yah, what slot is the Gauntlet police car in?

It's and added vehicle, actually (I didn't mention that) - currently using police2 audioNameHash

So once you replace the  Saloon7_US_V8, go to the vehicles meta where the added car is in and replace the line <AudioNameHash\ > to <AudioNameHash\>Police<AudioNameHash> and you should have a muscle car sound for it

Obviosuly the tradeoff is that all PoliceStainers will sound like Muscle cars. Theres not really anyway of getting around it ATM

Ahh, okay then. Thanks. I'm going to push this and ask again, I don't suppose you know some basic zmodeler? :D I still got questions on stuff.

I dont know anything about modelling, people who are able to model are like wizards to me :P. A lot of the modellers are very helpful, you should be able to find someone to answer your questions
