Terrorism Pranks

@Illusionary I don't know if you saw it but two days ago the two brothers behind these videos did an interview with 7 news (VIC) and as it turns out all the "people" they have scared in their videos are actually friends/family members paid to act in these stunts. Hence why all the people running scared are of Muslim decent and are generally the same people over and over in each video/take. And while yes it is a stupid thing to do given the events which take place everyday it is in the end meant as a bit of a joke. Not a very clever or well thought through one though.

I didn't see that as I don't watch the news very often, however that's quite interesting. Still, doesn't discredit this discussion from being about stupid prank channels.

I'm still waiting for the day where some of these "pranksters" get shot/neutralized by the police. These shenanigans are getting out of control.

  • Even though I'm curious about the video, I'm not going to click play on it. I'm fairly certain that gives it views on YouTube, and I most certainly don't want to do that.

  • Ah, the most educated post you've submitted to this thread.

We just had a "terrorist prank" right in the downtown area of our capital: a woman dressed in black clothes screaming "Allahu Akbar", threatening police officers that she will explode herself. It could be funny in some way if not for the fact that she had a girl's head in her hand (we now know she was a nanny and beheaded the girl she was looking after and set her apartment on fire while the parents were away).

Fuck, I still can't get over it. Terrorism pranks don't seem that funny for me now.

Given the recent terrorism attacks and threats worldwide, I don't think you'd be laughing if someone screaming stuff in Arabic threw a bag at you before running away from it.

Well, i think you take it too serious.

So you honestly wouldn't be concerned if some lunatic ran up to you, threw a bag possibly containing explosives at you before running away all while yelling in Arabic? Really?

Illusionary, look. This is ridicolous! Do you really think, someone who's dressed like the stereotypical Arab would throw a bomb bag on TWO people? Do you know how difficult it is to build a suicide vest or bomb? Not the most fanatic terrorist would waste his knowledge, money and time to kill only two or three people. They try to kill as much as they can as a suicide bomber. I laugh about the people who really think they're on attack. There're some crazy idiots out there who only want to kill a disbeliever. But they try to kill a bunch of people with a knife or a car. But not with something consuming like a suicide bomb. It's just ridicolous that someone thinks it's real. Only brainwashed people think, it runs like that. And that's the funny part of this video.

It's easy to say that and think of all these reasons when you're sat at home in your comfy chair, but it's completely different from being in this actual situation for real.

If this were to happen, you have a split second to actually think and assess the decision before your fight/flight instincts kick in. No-one in this situation is going to sit and think about whether or not they're genuinely being targeted by terrorists, they're just gonna get the hell out of there.....

Just because you wouldn't run away from something like this, it does not mean that everyone else would react in the same way. Similarly, just because you take such events really light-heartedly, does not mean that other people will, and given the current state of the world's efforts against terrorism, it's common sense that these types of pranks are going to upset people.

Only idiots would stage pranks that they know touch upon a sensitive topic without having some consideration about how the people being pranked will feel. Only idiots will pull a prank that is in some situations reason for the police to shoot you.

Pranks are meant to be funny and light-hearted for everyone involved. This bullshit is not.

Yeah, that's called criminal threatening or felony harassment... that can get you put behind bars, quick.

Remind me to ask you if you find terrorism pranks funny when someone blows up a bus in Hannover where you live, and then someone pretends to do it again a few months later.

It happens all the time in shopping malls and schools in the middle east. I suggest you watch a program on television called "the news". It's very interesting and informative sometimes.

Not very difficult at all. Look up the Boston Bombings. Those two kids killed and maimed people with pressure cookers and ball bearings.

Do you really think somebody is going to be able to think that out in two seconds? How about if somebody pulls a gun out and points it at you? Are they going to shoot you or just threaten you? You don't know, do you? Why do you think police have to fire first in that situation? If you wait, you're dead. If you have nerves of steel, why aren't you in a special forces group killing these terrorists right now?

Nobody knows the terror and misery of a terrorist attack like actual victims. And while I don't wish it upon anyone you know that they get their lives taken from them, it sounds to me like that's the only thing that can wipe the smile off of your face thinking any of this sh*t is funny. It won't be funny when someone you care about gets hurt or killed. And what I just described happens to people every day on this planet. You've just been fortunate enough to live in Hannover where it hasn't happened to you yet, so you should count your blessings and have a bit more sympathy and respect for the victims of these terrible people you'll likely never meet face to face.

No, that was a murder of a 4-y-o girl with mutilation of a corpse. No pranking there for sure.

i think thats a fault of you people. Those who love to watch this bullshit on you tube. Praksters already know that public love to watch this sort of videos and it's a good way to spin up chanel and get max views and subscribers. Demand creates supply. They know it's bring a lot of money. So if you really want to stop it - start from your self and stop watching this bullshit.

Yeah.. Thats not going to happen, idiots stay idiots.. People will keep watching this crap no matter what. This needs to be stopped and the only way to stop this is by taking it to the roots.
