I don't believe the story. I'd like to wait until this is confirmed. I doubt how much progress they had made anyway, this might have been an easier out than admitting to people development was slow and dependent on FiveM.

We will not release source code as other people could use the program code to create a GTA:Multiplayer clone and we would cause more problems for the community.

Pfft. Is that the best they could come up with?

That's why people shouldn't try making their own MP when rockstar will only take action against it. i guess FiveM will be next to go down.

R* was working with GTAMP team, the decision to stop the project was decided by TakeTwo, for me it's a shame.... Without mods, GTA is dead...

Why would rockstar work with GTAMP lol that's just silly.

R* was working with GTAMP team just for making a MP mod without any link with GTA: Online with the aim to preserve the official MP and avoid piracy.

I wasn't aware this was even a thing. Oh well. Everyone will have to play LSPDFR or whatever other mods solo or yell very loudly at Rockstar to create locked player hosted servers for people who use mods.

R* was not working with GTAMP, just condone it, Take-Two Interactive fucked us.

Rockstar was working with GTA:MP why do you think it didn't get shut down like FiveM. GTA:MP got shut down because Rockstar is only the developer of the game and Take2 inc is the distributor and it didn't think that GTA:MP would get with the mod that far so they took actions.

And the problem is, even if the source code got "accidentally" leaked

Take2 lawyers will still chase the original developers and sue them, I just hope that there is a small solution that will happen.

Sorry, I'll wait for a Take2 or Rockstar statement before believing this.

Gta:MP had a contact with rockstar about legal standpoint before this a few months ago just to make sure they wern't going to be shutdown by ROCKSTAR but this time both FiveM and GTA:MP were shutdown by TAKETWO not rockstar. The developer of FiveM and two of the developers form Gta:mp all had the same story how they got visted by private detectives... You can read more all over the internet. so you can't say it was because development was slow and you can't say it was just gta:mp.

Oh and here is a petition
