so I have steam version of gta v, and I wanted to be able to play lspdfr as well but perhaps I dont want the custom police cars when in the normal game. I have installed lspdfr version on same drive as gta v.. when I installed everything I wanted to to load up lspdfr, I think it loaded the default game location because the cars were different... 

Now, my question is: can I play lspdfr on a separate installationof gta v like I have it or do I have to combine the two somehow??

 

Make sure to use the OpenIV "mods" folder, you can find more about it on the openiv website. openiv.com 

I've talked to LMS and Willypv, and we were thinking you could have two directories. However, this is not the same as it was with IV, this is much harder than IV was.

I've wasted many hours trying to figure this out. Ultimately, I don't think that having multiple directories of GTAV can work.

I've asked guys like Jeff Favignano how they do mods and then play online so fast, and he just has a second "backup" copy that he copy-pastes into his game, erasing his mods. As long as you have the space, just make a backup of "vanilla V", then make a backup of "modded v" and copy-paste your directory when you want to switch.

That's the only way I've found out to play online, and also play singleplayer that's modded.

To my knowledge you should be able to play LSPDFR from different folder, depending on how you launch them, I used that formal for my GTA IV, but GTA V gives you the option to add a mods folder to your directory which I use, For me I have the folder called Mods, which almost everyone uses, it helps you keep your original game files save without being touched, so therefore if you mod your cars etc through the mod folder, and if you take the mod folder out of your GTA V Directory, then run your game, your game will load without the mod folder, which means it loads without any of the mods you added through the mods folder

i use the mods folder in both cases, I just cant figure out how to get the other one to load the lspdfr version.. if all fails, ill combine the two seeing as how I rarely get online anymore because of hackers and being innocently banned for no reason..

@patrick, how do you launch it differently? lspdfr version is the only one with ragehook which I used to load the game to get lspdfr to run but I was able to open up enhanced native trainer which is not in that one, its in the other one, so its telling me that the lspdfr game is loading from the other game...

never mind.. I tried to combine them.. put lspdfr files from mods folder into the regular games mod folder but accidentally put them in main folder and screwed up some other stuff to go with it, so I just deleted all my x64 files, ran a verify cache and re-downloading them all and then will re-install all the files I had between modded vanilla and lspdfr folders..
