Can anyone tell me how to use the airhorn without turning on the siren?

You just hold the horn, instead of pressing it shortly.

You can't "turn it on", it's on as long as you hold the horn pressed.

Chang your key bindings, if you set another button to be used as the horn as well, you can hold that to use the horn and then press it to turn on the siren. I use a button on my mouse to use/activate the horn or siren.

The ELS.ini file which can be found in the main GTA directory if you're using ELS, it has all the instructions you need in it.

Hit Esc in game and go to options. Then find the controls and there should be something that say keyboard set up or something and then click and change what you want to change.

The "G" key serves double duty, as the horn or the siren key. If you don't have ELS, all you have to do to use the horn is hold down "G". You don't "turn it on"; it acts like any other car's horn (staying on only while G is down). If you have ELS, then it's more complicated. I'll explain more if you actually have ELS.

How hard is this? Go to your options in game and switch the HORN key which is default "G" to something else. This way ELS sirens are "G" and the GTAIV Horn/siren is another key.

You must hold down the GTAIV horn/siren button to hear the air horn. You cannot turn it on like a siren.

I use "G" for ELS sirens (AI doesn't pull over for ELS siren) when I just want to zip by traffic without them crashing into everything or moving into my path. I use the GTAIV siren key for when I am zipping down a highway and need traffic to move!

Or you could go into ELS.ini, and change your ELS siren key to another number using the key guide at the bottom. I use "R" for ELS sirens, because I don't want to change my IV keys.
