Does LSPDFR replace original files?

Featured Replies

I am just about to start modding GTA V. Used to mod GTA IV but things were easier back then. Does installing LSPDFR replace some of the original files? If it does which should I back up? I also understand the creation of mods folder when installing mods that DO replace files, does LSPDFR require you to do this? I assume I would only need to do that when installing texture mods, etc. (?) Sorry, quite new in this. Asking this because I would want to switch to Online occasionally.

Do yourself a favor and backup the entire GTA V directory and never install mods on that one folder and you will be good. Just use it to play online and copy to create more directories.

No, LCPDFR doesn't install any addition files that replace or edit existing GTA V files. It is wise to backup your files however it's a 60gb game so it's not necessary if you're doing script mods.

But with texture mods (or any other mod that replaces/edits any vanilla files it is HIGHLY reccomended to backup your files BEFORE thinking of modding.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Thanks. Hmm, so if I would copy the whole GTA V directory to the desktop and run the game from there, it would work? Because I once read an article saying that the game wouldn't work unless run from the path it was first installed into.

Thank you, just as I thought. Wouldn't mess around with textures so no biggie then. I do agree 60gb is too big to backup lol.

Sorry for the double post but, does the latest version work with this the latest patch (Patch 1.0.393.4)?

Just download the latest RAGE Hook and install it after you install LSPDFR 0.2a and you will be set

Is there a way to disable the online capability of the game such xliveless in GTA IV? I'm afraid someone at my house would play online while LSPDFR is installed and get me banned.

Online won't work if RagePluginHook is running. Same with ScriptHookV. You can't really get banned unless you really try to.

And about that backup folder, there's really no need to do that. If you want to edit game files, use the /mods/ folder provided by OpenIV.

Due to the graphic nature of this post, reader discretion is advised.

Hmm okay I just installed LSPDFR to a fresh GTA V copy patched to latest version and ran RageHook executable. It showed the Launcher and RAGE splash screen but the Launcher said it cant connect to the Rockstar servers. Is my internet just that bad or should it really be connecting to the Rockstar server? It only opts me to choose retry or cancel. Did I miss something here?

You have to connect to Rockstar's servers to authenticate (which is ridiculous, considering I'm 99% sure there's cracks that ignore that entirely) that you actually own the game, it has nothing to do with GTA Online. That's odd that you can't connect though, maybe try again? I think their servers do go down periodically.

Seriously though, the DRM garbage in video games only punishes paying customers, the pirates always hack out the DRM anyway. What's the freaking point?

Yep, my internet just fckd up. Got it working at first but after installing a few mods from this site, I suddenly can't open the console. Everything loads fine, all the scripts work but the console just won't open. I even tested if my F4 key works to make sure it's not the key itself.

Well if you're running from Rage Hook it prevents you from connecting so you don't accidentally get banned, I believe.
