More audio features: handcuffs and more police scanner (All folder paths included)

Hello
I'm an audio junky and I've went through all GTA sounds with open IV. I know that If you go through files you can easily guess what is what, but I made this post to write down exact path for each audio file for handcuffing and some police scanner features that still is not in LSPDFR. Hopefully it will help sam and other plugin developers.
I have included the folder names for audio files so you can easily check it.
Handcuff sound - currently there's no sound for handcuffing. Here's the related audio file in GTA V itself:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\SCRIPT.rpf\handcuffing.awc

Police scanner.
single suspect:
Suspect arrested:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_suspect_arrested.awc
suspect is down/neutralized:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_suspect_wasted.awc
Lost the suspect/target has avaded officers:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_suspect_eluded_pt_1.awc
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_suspect_eluded_pt_2.awc
multiple suspects:
One of suspects is in custody while police is still in pursuit of others:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_crook_arrested.awc
One of suspects are down while police still in pursuit of others:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_crook_killed.awc
All/multiple suspects are apprehended:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_all_crooks_caught.awc
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_crooks_arrested.awc
All suspects/criminals are killed:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_crooks_killed.awc
All suspects escaped:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_crooks_escaped.awc
Situation under control/code 4/stand down:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_no_further_units.awc
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_stand_down.awc
Officer down:
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_officer_down.awc

The files below are perhaps for future LSPDFR features that are not currently implemented
Use of lethal/deadly force is authorized/not allowed (both situation files are in the same folder):
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_lethal_force.awc
Air support is cleared/uncleared to immobilize the target (Both command files are in the same folder):
Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\POLICE_SCANNER.rpf\01_air_support_shoot_tires.awc

Hope This was useful

Cheers

I've spent about three long days in total researching GTA V audio.  I've got about 1,000 audio files dehashed and waiting to be used.  What you've seen in 0.2 is only the beginning, trust me.

That is amazing. Can't wait!

Well, I'd note as well that we don't want to be including all of these audio files with the mod for much longer as:

  • The filesize of the 0.2 is something like 3000% larger than 0.1.  This will only increase as new audio is added.
  • It is technically copyrighted.

So, it might be a little bit before we figure out a better solution.

Isn't using any part of GTA a risk against copyright or am I way in left field again?  Whats the difference between using units and vehicles vs audio?

Audio is part of the game files.  Redistributing those files with the mod is dodgy.

Our code which interacts with the game isn't part of the game.  If we can play the audio directly from the game without including the files, no copyright is violated.

Actually i wanted to point to that as well, If audio files get added to LSPDFR the size will grow larger. Will this be a problem? I hope you figure out a way to play the files within the game itself.

Your code is not a part of the game but It uses files belonging to the game in the game itself. That doesn't seem violations of copyright to me, But i guess sadly the laws say something else.

Make a program that extracts the sounds from the game files while installing lspdfr.

This way you don't have to distribute the files with lspdfr  Maybe not possible, but it seems OK with the laws :p
