Bring the Police Interceptor in line with the rest of the LSPD

Featured Replies

Is anyone working on or willing to work on removing the police on the side of the interceptor and replacing it with the LSPD roundel and motto that the Buffalo, Transporter and Stainer has?

No can do, my friend.

R* was lazy with the texturing on this car. The texture is only mapped to one side of the car, and it is mirrored for the other side.

So the round LSPD logo would appear on the front of the car on one side, and on the back door on the other side of the car.

So it would look pretty silly.

(At least that's what I think the situation is. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

Please do not PM me for any kind of technical support.
I unfortunately do not have enough free time to answer every PM that I get. For issues with my plugins, please post in the comments section of the file, or it's forum thread. You'll get a much quicker response from me there than if you send me a PM; I do my best to respond to every question in the comments sections. For API/programming questions, please post them in the API Development forum, so all developers can benefit from the answer as well. Thanks!

You're right on the technical details; the *reason* is that it's bad to make a giant vehicle-wrapping texture (taking up a lot of memory) when you don't intend on anyone modifying the texture. It is just as impossible to put the Interceptor livery on the other LSPD cars, because they are mapped for a logo on the front door with text beneath it.

Let's hope it will be possible in the future (like Polyphony said "Until vehicles can be mapped with a template") to replace the POLICE with LSPD motto and logo. It's much more realistic.

I see, oh well, still dont get why R* thought using a prototype style skin was a good idea

R* probably liked the skin and decided to include it. R* isn't as police-crazy as most people here :D
