Non Emergency Calls

Featured Replies

LSPD FR should have non emergencies call, like petty theft, shoplifting, report of stolen car/moticycle, burglary report, minior injury accident, and misdeamonor, only responding to emergencies calls makes it not so real.

LSPD FR was is still a BETA release and will be developed further as time goes on. Right now it's in its infancy and will continue to grow.

Agreed, I know I like playing on a more realistic level there needs to be a balance between action and more mundane calls where you file a report or go and see whats up.  I think it would be cool if there was a cascade of events like responding to a burglary alarm (automatic or person) and get a description of the suspect and you go searching in the area for him/her.   Even for domestic calls where one left the house and went somewhere else and you need to go and track them down (non-emergency) and ask for a statement either leading to a warning or an arrest.

People might call 911 for them, but they aren't something police respond to as an emergency call. Particularly for taking reports, it's simply not an emergency (nor even an urgent situation; the theft already happened, the guy is gone, no one is in danger, so it's not the kind of thing you rush to with lights and sirens). Shoplifting with a detained suspect isn't an emergency. Petty theft that already happened isn't an emergency.

Depends on whether weapons are involved or whether the person is still around or not as far as thefts go, and stolen cars are felonies if it's worth more than $300 or if a weapon is involved. Minor accidents would also be an emergency call, although police tend to follow the rule of ABC (ambulance before cruiser).

True, it all comes down to the dispatch (how the crime is reported).  Grand Theft Auto or Grand Theft calls are only emergencies if they are in progress or very recent.  If someone came home from vacation and found their car missing and dial 911 cops should not be responding Code3 (Balls to the wall).  Same with a domestic call, if someone calls in with a fight in progress cops will respond emergency where if one of the individuals has already left (several hours ago) they will respond Code 2 or non-emergency.  Fraud cases or credit card theft for example are slower responses and mostly taking down a report. I have seen cops in my area respond non-emergency to a possible burglar alarm or motion alarm.  It would be cool to have a response like that checking around the building making sure no windows are broken or no one is lurking around with a van full of goods :D

The dollar amount depends on the state; in CA, it's $950 for grand theft (this is a recent change made through the initiative process, that also reclassed shoplifting from always a felony to normally a misdemeanor).

Fortunately for folks who've had their car stolen; $950 still isn't a shockingly high amount, so people who steal cars will get a good punishment for it, especially if they're repeat offenders.

I would like a call to recover a traced stolen electronic device.

Also to note this would probably be better as a script for the Mod. That way it's an addin for those who want to use it and it can be developed separately from the main mod which the Mod Dev's are working on quite a bit to get it to realize their and the communities envisionment of it.

Will they implement what I said?

It depends on if it becomes a popular request and if it is feasible as well as if it is something that they feel passionate about I expect.

Hopefully somebody can make these callouts after the API is released so the devs can bring us more content rather than spending their time making calls.

I'd agree with all of that except when you said shoplifting wasn't an emergency; it kind of is as a detained person can only be detained for a certain amount of time and the police with appropriate equipment to properly arrest them need to show up quite quickly.

I'd still like a "Welfare Check" call. I was called racist for this once (not joking) so I'll explain just in case. This means a friend or family member has dialed 911 or called the "Non Emergency Number" for their local department, and has requested that an Officer go and check on their family member to see if they're okay. This usually happens when someone can't get in contact with their elderly parent, or possibly a neighbor, and fears they may have died.

the fr in lspdfr is first response right?... has there (ever) been any mention of any kind of addition or separate mod for fire/ems type working with the main mod? take rescue V for example...to combine/merge/implement some kind of rescue mod type thing would just be awesome.... lspdfd or lspdems would just be sick

sorry if off topic but on topic

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MODS..THEY'RE CALLED READMEs   AKA read me for a reason

lspdfr plugin or GTA V crashed? find your Rage log in your gta folder, usually found after ragepluginhook.exe and open it, hit Ctrl a, open pastebin.com, select new paste, hit Ctrl v, get the link after you pasted it and supply that with your issue in the specific mod topic, it helps the developer diagnose the problem you may have.
