This seems to come up a lot when discussing features for LSPDFR, features like frisking, the police computer system, license/registration etc.

Would you, as a user/consumer of the mod, be okay with having some of these features if it meant they wouldn't have proper animations right now but MAY later in the mod's life?

For example, when you frisk someone you just stand there, there's a 3 second delay, and then a text box tells you what you find.

I personally would be fine with it, because it would add a lot more RP to the game even if it would not have the animation I'm okay with that for now.

As long as the options are the same as LCPDFR i'll be happy, like I said in the other thread, if you could port LCPDFR to LSPDFR i'd be happy, it had everything and it was so detailed and I loved it as well as loads of other people, people arn't going to mind if theres no animation/dialogue off the bat, if at all.

It's like complaining about not having a voice in the fallout games and such (not including the new one of course), it's just kinda silly and pointless because you're supposed to 'live' and be that character, it's your story, you're not playing somebody else's.

Now don't get me wrong, if we could get the pullovers with dialogue i'd be so happy, but I wouldn't mind if we was lacking.

I don't mind just standing there if it means there's a bit more depth. It'd be nice to have more to do at a traffic stop than to just ticket/warn/ask to step out. 

I would like that. While having no animation is a bit immersion-breaking, I think it's better than not having the option at all, as then the mod feels that much more limited.

Yep exactly, add them now, visuals later for when they come. I was in a convo with Sam about this and he feels it's better to have the visual immersion to the game. I understand but it's still a game and I feel like the more things you can do, the better.

Agreed. I'm very upset they didn't add a computer to the police vehicles..it's very unrealistic honestly, whoever at rockstar said not to add them (even for decoration) should be shot fired.

Anyway, I'm totally okay with this! I'd love to be able to frisk and run license plates..even without animation. It'd add so much more..I'd be in heaven.

There used to be (and still should be) a police computer in the cars on the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. They had the LCPD textures, though. I'm guessing they removed it for first person, either because they were too lazy to create a new texture, or because it interfered with some other part of the interior.

Ahh yeah you're right..the vapid didn't, but the police interceptor did.

I'm absolutely fine with that. I understand that for some inexplicable reason, Rockstar decided to not add such animations to the game, it's kind of ridicolous. They basically made the police less realistic, and less in depth. Let it be without animations, as long as it happens. Right now, sadly, as far as i understand, frisking and asking for registration and id, and then running it on the computer, or asking dispatch, like in LCPDFR, is kind of impossible, because there's no dialogoue, and as far as i'm aware, the guys behind the mod have no intentions on adding these features. Let there be no dialogue, just make it text only, i'm alright with that. So are many other people. Because right now it seems to me like, all LSPDFR will likely be in the future, is callouts. There's hardly any roleplaying or interacting with npcs, you won't be able to frisk them, you won't be able to ask for their id. That's what made LCPDFR special and fun. The fact that you just patrol around casually, then you see an alleyway with some shady people sitting there, smoking. You go there ask for their ids, frisk them, find a gun and there's an arrest. Or you just find nothing and let them go. That immerses me more into the police work. Without these kind of imho, crucial features, i'm afraid LSPDFR won't be as in depth and as fun as LCPDFR was. The world of GTA V has so much potential, the city and the countryside look beautiful, but if all it will be used for, is mostly callouts, where you can't even id the people or frisk them, or make them drop their gun, like you could in LCPDFR, it will become stale and boring very fast. LCPDFR is so much fun, but i don't want to go back to the dull Liberty City, mostly because of how unstable GTA IV is. If the current features, maybe without dialouge and animations, of LCPDFR will return to LSPDFR, then it will be amazing. I hope i didn't sound too negative or whiny, but this is my honest thoughts about LSPDFR right now. I'm afraid there are far too many limiting factors currently, that prevent it being as good as LCPDFR. If nothing above will be implemented, then i'm afraid LSPDFR will be just a stripped down version of LCPDFR.

This is a mod too remember, so there's limitations, and holding yourself back just for some cosmetic details shouldn't be the case.
