I think your setback is the graphics card. i doubt it will run @ high settings. If you can afford it, the GTX 970/80 will be the way to go for ultra settings.

So I'm considering buying GTA:V (I'm a little late, I know), but just wanted to check that I'd be able to run it well first.

Here are my specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition (Unlocked to 6 cores)
MSI GTX560Ti Twin Frozr II 1GB OC
8GB Corsair Vengeance

Any ideas? Anyone got a similar rig?

I have a 560ti 2gb...with 32gb memory. 1TB....game runs 120 fps on normal...the real limit is the video memory. I just spent over like 5 grand on my new PC parts so I can get 24gb of video memory and start doing some nice gaming.

32GB of RAM may be useful for memory-thirsty softwares such as 3D rendering or video rendering, but for gaming it's absolutely useless, sorry to tell you that. 8GB to 16GB is the way to go, being above this is a waste of money -and- time to install it.

To the OP: you will most likely be able to run the game in mid-settings like I do (I've an FX-6300 and a GTX660 with 8GB), and I can assure you it still looks darn pretty in mid-settings

You have 24 GB of video memory? How do you have 24 GB of VRAM? The VRAM that I usually see from players are 512mb-2GB, etc. Please how do your have more VRAM?

He most likely added the memory from having multiple graphics cards. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. If you have 2 cards with 4 GB of memory, you do not have 8 GB of memory. You only have 4 GB. Only one set of VRAM is used for now. I have read reports that the next version of DirectX will support stacking VRAM - then you would add the memory of all your graphics cards together. However, right now, you only use memory from one card.

is 24 GB of VRAM possible?

Yes, but for most people - no... You'd need 4 way SLI with GTX Titan blacks, so about $5000 in GPU hardware. I don't even know if there are power supplies and motherboards that could handle that tbh

Yeah, DX12 is supposed to stack VRAM. That would be so awesome.

These are the specs from the clan a few years ago, right Tom? I remember you had a 560 or 560 ti.

DirectX 12 will support stacking and I have already preordered some cards that allow this. I need it for my business. Edit: Mind you these cards aren't gaming cards that I need, I switched to quadro after I decided I needed a workstation.
