Could we get a rule regarding spoilers in the GTA5 gallery?

Featured Replies

tl;dr read title

I know of a few people that have been holding off on playing GTA5 at all until the PC release, a couple of which go on here every now and then (no account I'm aware of), and I'd hate for them to be spoiled by something in the gallery. Could we have a rule added (even if it's just temporary) regarding storyline spoilers?

I thought some sort of rule was already in place. It wasn't a global rule but it was a forum category specific rule. I could be wrong though.

Wasn't sure, didn't think there was - this is just prompted by seeing

What would these rules be?

Don't post spoilers at all or post spoilers but please make it clear it is a spoiler?

I'd say the latter - maybe have a spoiler flag that would prevent it from being displayed on mainpage, or have a "hover to view" overlay on the image?

Honestly the game as been out for a year and a half...I'd be surprised if it hasn't already been spoiled for you.

As surprising as it seems, I didn't watch any playthrough/walkthrough of the solo, nor do I have any friend who played the game on consoles, so I believe you can be surprised, because I indeed haven't been spoiled about anything to this point.

Even if the game has been out for over a year, it's all about common courtesy. If you were in their position, you probably wouldn't want people to post a bunch of spoilers everywhere; but then again, how long can you wait? Sooner or later you're going to see a spoiler.

I agree - but maybe not hover to view, because that doesn't work on things like iPads. Maybe click to view?

My point is that by seeing images you're not going to have the entire story spoiled. Most things will just be cool scenes from the game. I mean, you mentioned the screenshot in North Yankton...I don't understand how you couldn't already know the game starts there and it is snowy. It's common knowledge at this point.

Hard to not see GTA V galleries when they are literally flourishing on the top of the page.
