I never understood the purpose of this button. I never use it. Anytime I replace something I just hit save and then close it.

It rebuilds the archive to eliminate any possible errors that are present. You should always save and then rebuild before closing. 

 

On another note, why are you still using SparkIV when OpenIV is vastly superior?

So OpenIV can open .wtd's directly and preview non-vanilla models unlike SparkIV. But it has pop-up videos.

Yes it does & this helps alot with people that are getting map or texture loss rebuilding your .img files.

I always used spark iv from the beginning. Didn't feel like getting used to open iv. idk maybe I'll look into it. So I save first, then rebuild?
